Location is awesome. Lots of restaurants, the seawall is so close to go for daily walks, Stanley Park is walking distance. There are supermarkets like No Frills just around the corner

The hotel was very easily accessible in English Bay. The neighborhood was safe and easy to get to using public transit from the airport. The room I had was very spacious, with two large beds, a kitchenette, an excellent selection of TV channels, good WiFi too. The bathroom had a very good shower and lots of clean towels. The bedding itself was also clean, as was everything in the room, very pleased about that. The front desk staff were also very helpful in answering any questions that I had. Also, my one night stay coincided with the final night of Taylor Swift's Vancouver concert dates. Every other hotel in Vancouver had jacked their rates massively, but the English Bay Hotel kept theirs at the normal level, only 200CAD including tax. Thanks again!

The only real drawback, though it didn't bother me, but it has been mentioned in other comments and reviews, is that the rooms are a bit dated and could use a little TLC/refurbishment. The carpets are a bit old and the walls could use a new paint job, but this didn't detract from the comfort of the room. Also, and I have to stress this, everything in the room was immaculately clean, just dated carpets and walls. I'd definitely stay again!

Where the hotel is placed. It is in a place you can find everything and it is half street English bay beach. The attention for people in the hotel was amazing. The installation inside the room. This is the best option if you wanna cook there and don’t buy street food. I didn’t like as much the food in Vancouver so I think this is a great choice. Cleaning the installation inside the studio room was good. The bathroom was big. It has all cleaning stuffs needed.

There is a strong awful smell inside the elevator and sometime in the corridor.

The ocean view from the room window was nice. The rooms were spacious. Restaurants, coffee shops, banks and stores are at walking distance, was very convenient.

Bad odour in the elevator and hallway. Recommend to use some mild air freshener. Bathroom door requires repair. Staff at the reception didn't bother to offer help to carry my suitcases (9) to the 4th floor, in the elevator. Could have been a nice gesture to offer little help, especially when some one just arrived from the Airport with small kids crying due to Jet lag.

Very large room with a double bed and a single bed, mini equipped kitchenette. The building and rooms are a bit on the 'tired' side, but the location is fantastic (right across the street from Sunset Beach) and we felt safe and very comfortable. I would return here if I was coming back to this area.

I was impressed with this hotel. It does look kind of old fashioned inside but it was great value for money and it had everything we needed and more. We had the junior suite, it, was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff (front desk (day and night) and cleaner) were really helpful and friendly. We had to extend our stay and they accommodated us in the same room. Lots of food outlets on the same road and the English Bay beach too. Great value for money. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent value for money. Very spacious for being in a city. Good AC and fan which was important as it was so hot. Amazing view out of the windows onto the beach. Location was the best - just by the beach in a buzzing location with lots of bars, restaurants etc. Walking distance from main sights. Just across the road from Stanley Park. Area felt safe late at night.

Entrance to car park is very tight. Decor is a little tired, but that does not really matter.

English Bay Hotel is a very well located budget hotel. The hotel was built in the 1950s, and some of the features are quite old. Our room was clean and well maintained and had a small separate kitchen. The hotel is located opposite the beach and surrounded by a large selection of excellent bars and restaurants. There is a bus stop across the road. It was a great base to explore Granville Island, Stanley Park and the Gaslight downtown area. Our room was on the main road, the traffic noise at night could impact some people.

The bed was clean and comfortable

The hotel is in desperate need of refurbishing, everything about it is tired and in places dirty. The lift was unreliable. Having said that the bed was clean and comfortable and the kitchen facilities are there if you want to use them. The position of the hotel is perfect for access to English Bay beach, public transport and pick up for a lot of tours so it was more than satisfactory
