The location was nice, short walk to the restaurants and the beach . They have a private parking and the room and shower was decent. There was a breakfast in the morning.

We had an extra room but we didn’t used it since the furniture there were not comfortable at all and the electricity didn’t work. The food was fine but not so tasty and the quantity was quite small. The sink in the bathroom was tiny, no place to leave your stuff and the toilet seat was too small for the toilet it self so you can feel the ceramic in the side.

Not that I didn’t like it, but there’s lots of stairs which was difficult for my Mum who has mobility issues.

I am an Airbnb host myself with over 800 mostly 5 star reviews. Getting reviews from other hosts can be a mixed bag as we can be a fussy lot who think we know everything but I can say without reservation that Dennis and the Barclay House were fantastic in all ways. The house is comfortable and cozy, breakfast was fantastic (cooked fresh each morning), the location is exceptional, and the host was always available and friendly. It was sparkling clean with all the little touches right at your fingertips. Raining outside? There are umbrellas on the front porch. Out of towels? There's a stack in the hallway available for you to grab. It is centrally located with a short walk to both the Robson Street shopping district and the Denman street restaurants. I will certainly try and book here again should I return to Vancouver!

In a very convenient residential neighborhood a few blocks from stores and restaurants. Walkable to many parts of the city. Breakfast was different each day, multi-course, fresh and healthy. Room was large, plenty of space for clothes, and many windows for light. Free parking is provided on site. Manager was very friendly and helpful.

No A/C. It was very warm for Seattle and the room didn't cool off with the help of a fan until after dark. Could use new carpeting and TV.

The place was well appointed and very clean. Bathroom was large and the bed and pillows very comfortable. Having a place to park was very nice. It's a short walk to excellent eateries, shopping, nightlife, and the waterfront. Breakfast was better than expected and the service was excellent.

There are a lot of stairs, be aware when you book as there is no alternate route to get into the main house or upstairs rooms.

This is an old heritage house with a beautiful, cozy yard in the back. We were staying in a separate basement suite, which was quite comfortable. The property manager was very friendly, and his breakfast creation were excellent. There is a convenient parking in the back. This is a central location with a walking distance to many downtown venues.

The shower is a little challenging to use. Also, the property is pricey.

The B&B is in the middle of Vancouver City in the West End. All destinations in Downtown are just a short walk away. The house is nice and cozy, the rooms are quite big, so you have much space for your own. Dennis is the best host ever! He is so friendly and very interested in you and in who you are. He tries to make your stay very special and gives great advises where to go, how you can get there and if it's worth it. On top of that he makes the best breakfast in Vancouver! Every day it's a new surprise and we always loved it. So if you don't know where to stay in Vancouver, the Barclay House is your address! The location is excellent. An easy walk to great eateries, shopping, areas such as Coal Harbour. The Vancouver seawall is about a 15 minute walk from Barclay House where you can enjoy a beautiful seaside stroll or cycle that takes you into Stanley Park. Dennis is a great host. I was there for a week and enjoyed hearing about his family and stories about his life in the Philippines. I required his assistance a couple of times and appreciated his quick response. He knows Vancouver well and is helpful with any questions - I experience this myself as well as saw him assist other guests. I was in the Garden Suite which was lovely. Great coffee and a hearty breakfast every day.

Dennis was very personable, approachable and an outstanding host. The home is quaint, and a beautiful Victorian with comfortable facilities. Hospitality was exceptional; breakfast was delicious, and the table was set as for a queen/king. Dennis was also very helpful in sharing information to enable us to tour the city in two days. The home is convenient to move about in the city. We were able to walk to everything we needed to make our stay in Vancouver very enjoyable. We dined nearby, caught the Hop On-Hop Off Tour bus to see the sights of Vancouver, and felt comfortable out and about in the neighborhood. This is a clean and great place to stay in Vancouver and we would stay again when in Vancouver.

Cannot think of anything except a few rain showers and even they did not stop us from enjoying our stay.

The breakfast was out of this world. my daughter and I looked forward to seeing what was for breakfast every day. Dennis is the perfect host, very friendly and accommodating and obviously takes pride in ensuring that his customers have the best experience whilst they stay at his beautiful home. A big ‘Diolch’ from Wales.
