Exceptional value and location. For the price of a shared bathroom room at the YWCA, we got a full 1 bedroom apartment with great view, and quiet! Lovely deep bathtub. Kitchen with stove/fridge/microwave, basic dishes, a pot and a pan. Staff was great! Awesome Korean grocery store next door, and all the restaurants of Robson St are right there.

Certainly shabby, fridge leaked a bit, some light bulbs burnt out. No AC, but Vancouver isn't too warm. A fan would be nice, though. Wish we could have had 2 keys; they could only give us one.

Great location. comfortable room.

The building was old and the room needed some refreshing. The old elevator got stuck one time but was quickly fixed. One of the staff members named Asna, a fine lady from India, was a great professional, very polite, helpful with positive attitude helped us with vital information and directions which she printed for us without us asking and assisted us with general information. Asna is a very pleasant and efficient professional. Please forward my praise of Asna to the management. Thank you.

I was injured during our holiday and the staff were so accommodating and helpful. It's not the flashest place in Van West but it's undoubtedly the most spacious and helpful. I'll always stay here as long as it exists.

The furnishings, with the exception of the beds, wete last upated in the 80s. So if that sort of thing matters to you, stay elsewhere. The beds do the job, and I'm pretty picky about beds and sleeping. Having a separate kitchen and sitting room is so much better than being stuck in a tiny hotel room.

Staff were nice. Housekeeping was okay. The kitchen had a single pot, with functioning stove and fridge, but wish it had more cooking utensils (eg spatula) and basics like salt & pepper. Bed was comfy. Amazing view from 9th floor. Location is close to everything downtown.

Upon check-in, the full amount of the bill was charged to credit card. I was told it would be a pre-authorization but that was not the case. This did not give me the option to pay via debit. Very unhappy about that.

Room was much bigger than expected. Location was very convenient, good access to transit. Car rentals were available nearby, but we didn't need one. Several good food options in walking distance.

One elevator was out of service-staff were obviously working to get it repaired but it did make elevator wait times rather long. Kitchen window appeared to be stuck open-not a big deal in August but might get a bit chilly in the colder months.

Called back during cruise to book 3 days after the cruise and was told I would have to call back later to do that, which was impossible because of an excursion. I have never been told to call later to book a room. I of course used a different one. Our other hotel cancelled our reservation and we had only 2 days to figure out where we were going to go.

I loved this hotel. I booked it after reading previous reviews. As I was travelling on my own I was looking for a room that was good value for money and in a safe area. The hotel was just perfect for both. Its not the most stylish or modern but it was spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed, enough space for a whole family - bedroom sitting room and kitchen! and there was just me. I had a room on the 12th floor with awesome views over the city and the mountains beyond. Although there was no air conditioning I was able to open the windows and get a through breeze. There is street noise but you have to expect that if you are in the middle of a big busy City. Location wise it couldn't have been better, right on Robson and surrounded by loads of restaurants and shops - Breka for breakfast, coffee and cake, Ramen Danbo for lunch, the best Ramen I've ever had and Joe Fortes for amazing seafood for Dinner. All within 5 mins walk of the hotel. 10 min walk to Coal Harbour, English Bay, Granville Street or Sunset Beach - where you can catch the False Creek little ferry over to Granville Island. I couldn't have been happier with the Hotel or the location. The staff were plesant and friendly. If I come back to Vancouver again I will definitely stay here. All round a great stay.

I was very satisfied with the Hotel.

Location was excellent. Within walking distance of cruise centre and tour pick-up. My room included a kitchen, with microwave. Staff were friendly and helpful. There was a nearby IGA supermarket.

Location, value, room size - are all great. It's an older hotel that could do with updating, but with that in mind everything in the room worked fine, it was all clean, and met expectations at a good price. The staff were accommodating, friendly and helpful - we didn't ask for much extra, but when we did, they provided it with a smile.

The only caveat with the whole experience is that this is a hotel straight out of the 1970s, in every way. There is an upgraded TV in the rooms, and the WiFi works well. The rest of the stay is a comfortable suite from 1978 or so. Not a negative for us, but there are some who will find it old style.

The location in the downtown in walking distance to Stanley Park as well as to port area is really great. Staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We liked the kitchen, although the equipment could be better. We appreciated private parking lot, which was useful in this part of Vancouver.

The overall look of the apartment was a bit old-style, but served its purpose. We would prefer flexible shower (not the one fixed in the wall). The balcony was a bit scary (did not look well maintained) and the mountain view was only in the narrow spaces between other "skyscrapers".
