The Friendship hotel is really just a pub with rooms above. No breakfast or evening meals offered (which we knew in advance and we were visiting family so it didn't matter). Location is good for access to the Peaks and Sheffield and very easy to get to, just off the M1. We had a very comfy bed, nice shower, lovely white fluffy towels. Tea & coffee making facilities provided. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Dog friendly rooms which was good for us. Very satisfactory for a two night stay at a good price. Thank you!

Blinds at the windows didn't really block out all daylight. Rooms at the front of the hotel can be noisy at times as the hotel is on the main road. It meant we couldn't leave the windows open at night but as it was April, it didn't matter! Perhaps in summer it could be an issue?

We found the property on a last minute booking for New Year’s Eve whilst walking in the peaks, we booked the larger room available as we had two dogs, great size!, modern,clean, and we slept well. Yes there was noise from the pub below but what can you expect it’s NYE?! Plus we sampled many Guinness & Gin, Staff was friendly and welcoming. We would 100% book again

Not much too dislike value for money is right. only possible down side is parking is small behind the pub but still okay I have a big 4x4 and still managed to park no problem.

I can certainly recommend The Friendship Hotel for other travellers to this area. The rooms are above a pub and, arriving in the car park at the back of the premises, all you need for entry is the email confirmation from the hotel, which provides a code to enter the building and then to access your room - so, no staff to check-in. There are of course staff available in the pub downstairs. My rooms was spotlessly clean and had all I needed.

The only negative point that I would make is that there is round-the-clock noise from the steel mill in the valley below the hotel. The weather was mild during my visit and so, with the window open at night, I could hear the plant machinery. This didn't affect my sleep but others may need to use ear plugs.

Good location with private parking. Room and facilities were very good for the room charge. Staff very helpful. Private entrance to rooms from rear car park really appreciated.

It would have been better with the option of breakfast on site as there is nothing open nearby on Sunday mornings. Saturday night a a live music venue does not work too well with those of us planning an early start next day. However the insulation was pretty effective as long as the firedoors were kept closed.

The staff were fantastic. Friendly, accommodating, and professional. Nothing too much trouble. Location was great for me, I needed a bit of isolation but with access to facilities, of which there are many. Many eateries in the area too, not to mention the supermarkets and fast food nearby.

I could never remember the access code for the stairs at the back! Not a big deal, just me having a head full of other things. That's my fault! Write it down if you're as daft as me.

Free parking. Hotel well positioned in Stocksbridge, clean and comfortable. Dog friendly. Bar staff friendly and bar prices very reasonable. Hotel and room access details emailed to us, which made everything easy.

Unfortunately the shower in our room was backing up. Didn’t cause too much of a problem as long as we had a quick shower.

Location is great. Staff is friendly. However, I could not find anyone in the morning. The doors were locked. I could not contact anyone, there were no phones. I would like a phone in the room. I would like a fridge in the room. I wanted to register for next year, and was told someone would call me back before I left, and no one called, so I am not registerd for next year yet.

I booked this room for my daughter and her boyfriend whilst we celebrated a family event close by. They said that “ It was a lovely hotel! The room was very modern & clean and felt very cosy. It was our favourite hotel room we’ve stayed in yet! The back entrance is very handy if you don’t want to walk through the pub and it was very easy to check in and out. Staff were so polite and helpful too!”. Thank you very much.

Our room looked as if it had been refitted recently and was in excellent condition, with USB sockets next to the bed, touch base lamp and a shower room in great condition. We had a superior double room and it was extremely spacious. The entry code and key safe system worked really well for us as we could arrive and leave without any delays and at our convenience.

The rooms are fantastic decor wise and the pub was very friendly. The locals made you feel very welcome

The pub doesn't serve food something that I hadn't realised when I made the booking There was not an Iron in the room and at 7am I didn't have anyone answering the phone number provided. Each person I spoke to who had a room at the hotel didn't appear to have an Iron.
