Nice little cottage which could be great with a little work. Food at the pub was good.

It needs some repairs. The toilet wobbles and feels like it’s about to fall off the wall. Especially as you need to lean forward to keep the door closed which won’t lock or even shut properly. Would be nice if there were some tea and coffee and milk as it’s a long way from shops. There were no glasses only mugs and the cottage also smells of stale cigarette smoke.

staff are superb, great food and drink, the carvery is first class! lovely room, plenty of space for work and really clean and tidy.

one thing, a soap tray in the shower please! keep seeing your soap and shower gel fall off the tiny shower water bar. that would make the room spot on!! 😀😀

The whole atmosphere of the room and the pub/restaurant was fabulous. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The restaurant had a great ambience, great staff, and great food with a good selection at reasonable prices. There was also a Bible in the room, which meant a great deal to us, especially since our stay was over the Easter weekend. We met the owner by chance on the day that we were leaving, and he was very friendly and genuine, and you could tell that he was very proud of his business, which is reflected in the exceptional service and accommodation. Thank you to all!

Too short a stay!!

I really like the added extras, like the apple juice and orange juice, nice coffee machine. Rooms were lovely and well set out, beds comfy.

The floor in the bathroom could be done better as it’s a trip hazard due to being poorly laid, need blackout curtains due to lights outside making it too bright in the room and new toilet brush as this was filthy.

Friendly, attentive staff. Nicely fitted out. Very comfortable bed, crisp linen, comfortable pillows (though they didn't look it), powerful shower with plentiful hot water and useful removable showerhead. Radiators efficient and responsive. Peaceful location, easy access from car to rooms or to restaurant,

Could do with peg for clothing in shower-room, and somewhere to prop shower gel/shampoo/sponge without having to keep bending up and down to the floor. Bedroom floor needed vacuuming - fallen bits could be felt under bare feet.

The room was great

The hair dryer didn’t work which was unfortunate as neither of us had one. The large kettle didn’t fit under the tap which we resolved by using one of the cups to fill it. The guttering out side one of the windows so the rain was hitting off the window sill very loudly all night (unfortunate that we had 24 hours of rain that day) Both booking.com and The Tap House charged me for the stay so I was charged double 😔😩

The room we stayed in was cosy, we parked directly outside. The bathroom was a good size and the shower was powerful. The bed linen and towels were good quality and the sleep quality, including the bed, was excellent considering we were near a busy pub. We paid for breakfast on the Saturday, which was good quality and plentiful, if a little expensive. The pub is known for its carvery and is family orientated with a lovely outside area to sit and relax, it also has its own small brewery on site. The staff are excellent, very friendly and welcoming, this is a family run establishment and it shows in the service. The tap house is surrounded by wonderful countryside and just a 5 min drive into Ashby. We had bad weather one evening and we put the room heating on, which was excellent. We would stay again if were were in the area.

Easy to find and great location. Plenty of parking, lovely little cottages. There is a larger cottage (number 2) instead of the smaller rooms we had but what we had was perfect (we went to a wedding)

Mark on the bed spread and bathroom floor. Both mirrors quite small, would prefer a full length one in the room. Coffee machine not easy to use either, we didn't bother in the end.

It was well located for our trip, the room was clean and had all we needed. The pub staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious and great value for money.

Room got a bit hot throughout the night. Also we weren’t used to a feather duvet but that is just personal preference.

We stayed here for a family wedding near by. Lovely location and, a short drive into the village, there was no breakfast option however Greggs was in the village and plenty of other options. The pub was very welcoming a great choice of beers, though we didn't eat there the carvery looked amazing.

The kettle in the room was difficult to fill in the small sink.
