The room was very close to the train station, clean and well equipped (with toiletries, water, coffee/tea machine). Also, I liked the staff (very helpful), the breakfast (very good ingredients) and the quality of the towels/linens and the shower gel/hand soap/shampoo (with natural ingredients and awesome smell). We will definitely come back.

We had a traditional room, in the old part of the building, close to the kitchen and it was a little bit noisy.

Great hotel. Fantastic staff . Hotel is in the middle of the village with easy access to the hiking trails.we stayed for two non consecutif nights with an overnight stay in a mountain cabin in between. No problem to leave some of our luggage there. Hotell has two parts . A classic part with restoraunt and rooms and a new part with rooms and sauna. We had room in bith oart with both their own characteristic.

Avoid room 12. Although it is a great romantic room. The shower is located separately from the bathroom and that I'd not very practical

Everything about our stay was magical! The staff were so kind and welcoming. The hotel is so beautiful, it felt like a real swiss alpine experience with the wooden interiors and beautiful carpets. The location is beautiful and the food was exceptional. We absolutely loved our stay! It was pure quality. So much better than most of the 5-star modern hotels we usually pick. This had so much character and charm and felt so quality. The breakfast was 10/10 and the restaurant food was once of the best meals weve ever had! I highly recommend!

Traditional aesthetic made a nice change from modern hotels. Centrally located in Engelberg and with an excellent restaurant.

As with many hotels in Switzerland sometimes a double room can be two beds together, but staff were extremely helpful about this. If arriving out of day hours / during mealtimes, you may need to call reception as it isn’t a large hotel. Overall very good stay.

We had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and dining at their restaurant, and we must say it was an outstanding experience. The hotel itself was beautifully designed, Alpen-style, with comfortable rooms that made us feel right at home. The staff were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. The restaurant, in particular, left me speechless. The culinary creations that came out of their kitchen were nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared with the finest ingredients, and the flavors were simply divine. From the moment we entered the restaurant, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The level of service provided by the staff was truly exceptional. The restaurant manager and he’s assistant are doing an excellent and great job. We are definitely looking forward to come back!!! Thank you guys for everything!!! Well done !!

The cosy room and the kindness of Lars

Restaurant closed on Monday and Tuesday (still off season), I suggest to make it very visible on booking so that guests are aware before proceeding with reservations, the sauna closing at 5pm, no evening alpine ambience as bar was closed, chimney was off, the hotel is actually unattended after 6pm, with some corrections the hotel is highly recommended, the breakfast was OK, I suggest more natural products like organic jams for example

Beautiful old house, lovely rooms, excellent restaurant (amazing chocolate mousse!), charming breakfast and perfect location for a ski weekend. We also loved the sauna - luxurious, spacious and lovely design.

The beds were not that comfortable and people were smoking outside our room. When I raised the latter, the staff made sure that would no longer happen.

The property has a lovely mixed between ski lodge vibes and modern touches. The spa is very nice and the terrace area has amazing views and spacious. The room was a nice size for a couple and the coffee machine was a great touch. The staff, even though we only met one, was incredible nice and resourceful.

The spa could have done with a jacuzzi or steam room. The bathroom was a little small but ok for a couple. Would have been good to know that the bar and restaurant are not open on Tuesdays but this is similar around the town.

The staff were really helpful. The food snd service was outstanding. Manuel served us most in the evening, he was very informative to speak to. All the staff were exceptional. The restaurant was a perfect setting. Our rooms were typically Swiss with low ceilings and lots of wood. Was well equipped with tea and coffee making facilities. It was a quiet stay, which was perfect for us. Having the sauna area to ourselves for 3 days in a row was a real treat. We couldn’t fault Hotel Aloenclub. We’ll be back.
