Breakfast was good for the most part, except for Monday morning (all the food was burned). The staff was very friendly and we received a warm welcome from this young Romanian lady who gave us great details about the city. The hotel was well decorated and very clean. Conveniently located, next to the tram.

The doors of the rooms don’t slow so they slammed every time. The toilets don’t flush properly and there’s no brush to clean afterwards. The soap dispenser was empty. Housekeeping was loud in the morning.

My boyfriend and I had a very nice stay in December. The staff were friendly, the room was large and cosy, the area was nice with lots of independent cafés and restaurants nearby, and it was only a short journey into the centre. Would stay again.

Our only complaint was that the room was too hot and we couldn't adjust the temperature.

Great location - near a tram stop and a train station, also about 20-30 minutes on foot to most tourist attractions in the city. Great, helpful staff. Decent size room, comfortable bed. Decent breakfast.

A bit expensive, but most of Edinburgh is like that.

It was a real pleasure to say at rhe Four Points hotel in Edinburgh. The personal has been super nice with me. I would like to give a special thanks to Femi, the receptionist that welcomed me on my first day. Indeed, he allowed me to check-in in advance in my room, and upgraded me in a larger room for free. The room was super confy and clean. I slept so well on the sheets, with some really confortable et soft mattress and pillows. The bathroom was very clean and spacious. The place of the hotel was approximately 20/30min away, at feet, from every touristic places you could visit in the wonderful city of Edinburgh. The hotel was very convenient. For the price, the location and the quality of the hotel, I'm very satisfied and would recommand it to anyone ! (PS : I didn't take the breakfast option)

Rooms were very clean & nicely decorated, they had possibly been recently refurbished so were modern & tasteful. Good amenities in room with water, tea/coffee & bath products, comfy beds & pillows. The hotel itself was quiet, my only gripe was the noise outside, it was a Saturday night & the hotel has no control over noise of passing revelers. We didn't use the restaurant or bar area so could not comment, but reception were pleasant & offered to store our bags before our train departure later in the day when we checked out, so that was a welcome bonus.

The hotel was great for me, the room was a good size and the one I had was with a bath, which was great to relax in after a day’s walking around Edinburgh The breakfast was well laid out and had plenty of choices. The restaurant served excellent food, especially the steak, and all of the staff were so helpful

The room could have been a bit cleaner, but I am being very picky and I would have liked more choices of eggs at breakfast. Other than that it was a great stay

The room was nicely furnished, I liked its simple decor. It was really clean. The location is really good, 5 minutes walk from the train station, quiet neighbourhood.

There were some small things, the bathtub faucet was constantly leaking droplets, not particularly problematic but should have been fixed nevertheless. There was no hot water from the bathtub faucet, the shower was working correctly though so again, not a huge problem.

The breakfast and restaurant food in general was delicious. Our toilet malfunctioned and maintenance responded promptly.

The room was poorly ventilated. No room service and the restaurant closed too early. Having the same foods offered every day for breakfast was not good. More variety would have been nice. We ended up skipping several days even though we paid for daily breakfast. I was disappointed with the menu in the restaurant. I expected to see scones and cream, fish and chips and afternoon tea on the menu. Also, advance notice that the streets would be blocked off would have been great. We missed part of the jazz festival because we weren't aware that traffic would be a problem.

The breakfast was delicious, especially good for a buffet. And the room was warm and comfortable – the outer window of the double glazing didn't close but that wasn’t a problem as the inner window was enough insulation. The shower was great, as was the bed.

The fire alarm went off while the shower was on in our room, we think because of the relatively light amount of steam coming from the en suite bathroom; staff knocked on our door and were impatient trying to make us evacuate the hotel even though A) we were wet and had no clothes on (!) and the temperature outside was below zero, and B) staff knew the "fire" was supposedly in our room, which it very obviously wasn't – because they were standing at our open door. We felt like the staff were slightly impatient and unprofessional.

Breakfast was standard, the hotel and room very nice, though for some reason quite cold, and turning up the temperature didn't help. Staff was lovely. In the context of prices and similar hotels in Edinburgh, this one seemed fairly priced. Also felt quite safe in this area. It's a 30 min walk to the heart of the city, which I don't mind, but it's nice that the hotel is close to public transport too, and a few convenient shops. Ubers from the hotel to the center was also not too bad. All in all was happy.

Perhaps just better temp control in the rooms, and a few more breakfast options.
