The food at Bad St Isidor is really incredible. I highly recommend having breakfast and dinner at the hotel for the convenience and also the exceptional quality of the meals. Some of the best food I've had in a long time, all with a beautiful view of the mountains and Bolzano.

As a solo traveller relying on public transport, it was not ideal to get around, but it was doable. The hotel was up the mountain from Bolzano, but cable car makes it possible to get into town (after trekking halfway up the mountain). If you are planning a stay, I recommend having a car for sure, but the peacefulness and views of the hotel made the long journeys to the popular hikes worth it. The service though was amazing, and the entire staff was so generous.

Very accommodating staff provided us with all the necessary information. The location is very peaceful and quiet, ideal for getting some rest from busy city life. It also makes a great starting point for beautiful hikes, with the surrounding nature waiting to be explored. The views from both the dining room and the terrace are breathtaking; they truly set the scene for a relaxing meal. The food is delicious, with a great selection of locally sourced produce for breakfast and an optional dinner. We can’t recommend the dinner option enough; it’s a perfect way to end a day of exploring. The food is simple, represents the region, it is well thought through, greatly executed and ballanced.

I'm not sure if I should leave another positive review when there are already so many. But I simply want to express my gratitude to the hosts for their warm welcome, comfortable rooms, and especially for the delicious dinners and breakfasts. This was our second time here, and we will definitely stay again if we're in the Bolzano area. My advice to future guests: if you decide to stay there, be sure to choose the option with dinners.

May need to think about improving the Wi-Fi quality - it was not stable in our room, while it worked fine in public areas.

The food at Bad St. Isidor is amazing. Elevated home cooking, and in a lovely space. The innkeepers are very welcoming and helpful. The location is beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay - perfect. Also highly recommend driving over to the cable car and using that to commute into Bozen if needed, plus if you stay enough nights you get the Sudtirol card and transit is included.

Only two very minor things to note, the beds are a bit on the short side (I'm tall!) and the WiFi and mobile network coverage is a bit spotty at times, but still functional and let's face it, you shouldn't be coming to Bad St. Isidor to be connected 24/7.

I am SO happy with my stay here. This family run hotel is an oasis among the mountains. The half board option is incredible and the food was delicious. I really should have booked more time here. The best part is you feel at home. Thank you so much. Couple of things to note; If you’re not driving that’s ok! The taxi will be 30euro from the train station and the hotel gives you a transit card to catch the cable car down and then the bus is only 2 mins to the centre. You can also access Lake Carezza by the 180 bus at the bus station next to the train.

A perfect stay along my trip. The location is perfect, in the middle of the mountain, thus the view was perfect. All the property was very clean, glowing, like I didn't want to make it dirty. And I got the view as well from the bathroom. And of course delicious food for breakfast and dinner. This is a family owned hotel, and they managed themselves, and all of them was so kind, Bernie, Dorris, and also Pietro. They always kind to bring and pick me from the cable car. Perfect.

Please note that we have to use Kohlern cable car to go up the mountain, and from there still about 3 km down the road. So for a solo traveler without car like me, better you call the hotel to pick and bring you to the cable car. If I can suggest, maybe it will be very good for the hotel to provide shuttle bus. But anyway, the owner always ready when we call them.

Beautiful location, and fantastic service from the family!! The public transport and museum tickets included in the stay were fantastic. The dinners and breakfasts were amazing! We felt very spoilt.

The pillows were very flat, but otherwise lovely room!

The view from the hotel is spectacular and the homely feel you get from the staff, the Bolzano card, the dinner was tasty and different every evening…. Totally worth it

The walls are thin, if the next door neighbor is noisy then you will hear everything from your room.

Stunningly peaceful location with miles of walking in the mountains right on the doorstep. A bit of a journey into Bolzano but even without a car it wasn’t difficult - the owners offer free shuttles to the cable car but it’s also a lovely walk to it as well! Wonderful 3 courses of home-cooked food every night & a great breakfast in the mornings. Rooms were simple but exactly what we needed, and very clean. Views from the balcony are absolutely beautiful. The pool area is well-maintained and we loved the fact that it’s in the middle of the meadow rather than being all tiled etc! The owners are excellent hosts & they speak Italian, German & English. We stayed for 3 nights which was ideal for us not having a car, but you could easily stay for longer if you had some transport to explore a little more widely and have this lovely little hotel as a base!
