Situated above Bolzano, the property offers mountainous views, with easy access provided by the local cable car. Guests enjoy free cable car and intercity bus passes, courtesy of the hotel. This strategic location enables effortless exploration of Bolzano and neighboring regions. One such excursion took us to Ortisei, just 45 minutes away by bus (350). The hotel also provides an amazing food experience. We enjoyed the breakfast and dinner services. The food and wine were incredible! The staff were super helpful and friendly. They are eager to help and provide any information you may need to help enjoy your stay. I would highly suggest walking up the mountain to Schneiderwiesn. It’s about a 45 min walk. I highly recommend bringing hiking poles. The scenery is breathtaking! Once you’ve reached the destination their is a restaurant were you can enjoy the views and have lunch.

I recently stayed at this charming hotel, nestled high in the mountains, accessible by a scenic cable car ride. My two-night stay was delightful, thanks in large part to the incredibly friendly and helpful staff who made me feel right at home. The room was quaint and perfect for a solo traveler, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploring. Breakfast was a highlight, featuring exceptional food with breathtaking mountain views, and they kindly accommodated my gluten-free needs without any hassle. On my checkout day, I was grateful that they allowed me to store my luggage and enjoy the spa facilities until my afternoon departure. This thoughtful gesture really enhanced my experience. Overall, it was a lovely stay, and I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a peaceful mountain getaway!

This was the most magical place my husband and I have ever stayed and we truly hope to come back! We had booked this property last minute for one night as an in between for our upcoming accommodation. However after staying one night, we canceled our upcoming accommodation and booked this place for 3 more nights. The food, the views, the hospitality from everyone working there!, the wine, the comfort, the details of the entire property — it was pure magic. This is a very special place ran by very special people and we feel incredibly lucky to have stumbled upon this gem.

My favourite hotel during my trip. Very friendly service and exceeded expectations on everything. Cosy room had balcony and was well equipped with water, fruit, powerful hairdryer. Outdoor infinity pool with great views onto mountain was very high-spec with quirky shower embedded in greenery and nice jacuzzi. Highlight for me was going full-board with great-value four-course dinner, including beautiful gnocchi. Kind staff nice to solo travellers - they even drove me to cable car due to the rain. Also loved the Bolzano card which came with the deal - offering free travel and entry to museums. Warmly recommended and would love to have stayed longer.

A very special hotel in a beautiful location, with exceptional service and staff, delicious food and most comfortable beds! The pool and different lounge areas were wonderful after a day’s exploring.

Everything was perfect

The hotel is truly charming, offering breathtaking views and a warm, friendly team that makes you feel welcome. The rooms are beautiful, tastefully decorated, and designed with great attention to detail, even the smallest touches are thoughtfully considered. The food is delicious, the ambiance exceptional, and the service excellent. I had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this lovely place!!

The view from anywhere in this place is literally stunning! Whether you are in the room, sauna or pool, you will enjoy the mountains. The stuff treats you as the long awaited guest. The food is always fresh, various and not boring. The dinner was different all 4 nights we stayed there. Iulian (the waiter in the restaurant) deserves 6 stars out of 5: timely, extremely gentle, exceptional service! Multumim, Iulian!

The road up to the place might seem challenging

A wonderful place to stay in a superb natural setting. Attention to detail and a warm depth/ commitment to providing quality in every aspect - a rare find . We could not fault one thing. We hope to return - to walk the mountain tracks and nestle into the nurturing space that is Gasthof Kohlern .

Absolutely nothing to dislike

I couldn’t resist staying one more night at this hotel. I was offered free wine tasting, then enjoyed the dinner. The atmosphere of the hotel is amazing. You feel like in a Christmas movie. The hosts and staff were brilliant. They treat you that way you feel comfortable and valued. I really enjoyed the stay.

We loved absolutely everything about this place! Gasthof Kohlern is located in a beautiful setting with an amazing view of the valley. The owners and the staff are all so welcoming and friendly. The food is delicious and the room is very comfortable. We also made the most of the spa, which we had to ourselves most of the time. Highly recommended, top value for money!

I can't think of anything. This is a 5 star hotel in disguise!
