The lighting of the apartment also gave the room a really cheerful and airy feel that was further elevated by how clean the room was. The terrace that was part of my room was super lovely, and I also really loved the big green plant in the room! It was also a super safe location so it's great for female solo travelers like myself!

The breakfast offerings were a bit less than expected. While I did love having the Nespresso-style machine in my room, I had expected at least one simple protein-based option in the communal kitchen (like yogurt) based on the information given on the listing -- I have some blood sugar issues so I can't just have fruits and pastries for breakfast (i.e., what seemed like the main offerings in the communal kitchen).

Good location to access centre of town but quiet area. Owner provided helpful suggestions regarding restaurants/things to see. Rooms were very dimply furnished but large and our room had access to a small courtyard. Bed was large and comfortable and there was access to a shared kitchen

I couldn’t get the cooktop to work so a few basic instructions would have been helpful for it and oven - thought I am sure there was probably a manual if I’d looked. Pastries were provided for breakfast one day but not the next

Everything was wonderful. The host was very kind and gave us a lot of information on how to get around Ghent, what to do there and what to see. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed during our short city break. The location was great, close to the city centre and public transport. We would highly recommend this apartment and would definitely return.

Violet Suites are a little quirky and we loved it. Els was really lovely and extremely accommodating. We arrived a bit early and even though she wasn't quite ready she accommodated is and made us at home. The breakfast was really good - eggs, bread, yoghurt, cereals, cheese, meat juice, coffee, tea and on our last morning croissants. The location was also great, easy access to the city and stations (Dampoort) and tram. Ghent is a foodies paradise. Would definitely recommend.

The woman who runs this is very jovial and helpful. The room was quiet and private. The quiet air conditioning was very much appreciated as the city was hot at the time. The location was excellent for the part of town we needed access to. Bed was very comfortable. Overall, a nice contemporary design at a fair price. Thank you!

The breakfast was minimal. That's ok. Just slightly disappointing.

We loved our stay at the Violet Suites! The host went out of her way to make us comfortable, even tracking down decaf coffee for us. The Violet Suites are super comfy and just gorgeous. So many creative little details that make you want to spend a few extra minutes there in the morning, enjoying your coffee or tea before you leave for the day. The suites are in an excellent location, a short walk to the Ghent city center, or a much shorter walk to the tram that will take you right there. The nearby neighborhood is so charming, we loved everything we did in Ghent. I couldn't recommend Violet Suites more!

I traveled with a friend and while not a huge deal, the bathroom had a sliding door instead of a fully closing door. It wasn't the most private option, but worked out just fine.

Very well designed and maintained room. The maisonette bed setup was a nice touch. I also loved the kitchen which had everything. The frites place on the same street was nice and the owner was very helpful (NB: cash only!)

We had been on a bit of a tour of Belgium by the time we reached Violet Suites so can truly say, this was our favourite of many hotels. The room was beautiful and comfortable and the host offered many treats to guests including complementary breakfast items and snacks. We were made to feel very welcome. The property is just a short walk from the main attractions in Gent, on a nice quiet street.

Loved this place! Spacious and comfortable rooms with everything you'd need, very comfy beds, and a great location to explore Ghent (~15 min walk from city center). The host Els was very friendly and responsive as well.

Very friendly host, very helpful as well. Great location within walking distance from the center. It was clean and tidy and has many amenities.

The front door and windows were difficult to open, because they got stuck in the frame. The bathroom is not properly ventilated, making it damp and smelling not too good. The door handles were not so good in some places.
