The White Hart was a good location for us, visiting family in Chepstow and exploring the Forest of Dean/Wye Valley. Our room was a good size and the bathroom unexpectedly large. It was extremely hot during our visit but the window to the room was open when we arrived and thoughtfully a tower fan had been provided (and was much needed and used!). The only downsides to the room were no hanging spaces at all (no wardrobe/clothes rail only hooks on the back of the door but no coat hangers), a kettle too big to easily be filled from the bathroom tap, no hooks or towel rails in the bathroom and no extractor fan or ability to open the bathroom window. So nothing major at all and we managed comfortably for the 4 nights we were there. Staff were all friendly and helpful and the food and bar excellent value for money. The outside of the property really doesn't reflect the lovely inside.
Really it was only the lack of hanging facilities for clothes that let the room down and that's hardly a major point. Plenty of drawer space.

Staff were really friendly rooms fairly spacious and comfortable breakfast and dinner very good. It was provided earlier to accommodate our. schedule. Nice quiet room with sofa to relax on.
The internet was down, not able to pay by card this was not the establishment fault tho. Unusually, required payment in cash up front on arrival. Wasn’t flexible despite the issue with the net. Forcing a colleague to have to find a cash point. Additionally, despite being a Friday evening bar closed just after 10pm and kitchen Stops serving food after 8pm a little early as we could not arrive until 7.30 so no time to freshen up after a long day before dinner.

Although in need of TLC outside, the interior had been comprehensively and competently upgraded. My room had a well appointed and well designed bathroom, recently refurbished and the room was large with an attractive vintage French bed (excellent mattress) and matching French wardrobe, a pleasant change from purely functional items. There was a comfortable leather 2-seater settee in front of a large smart tv. The cooked breakfast was generous and to a very high standard and, when short term circumstances prevented an early cooked breakfast the continental breakfast was also very generous with staff providing items of my choice. Although the bar and restaurant are busy, no noise was transmitted to my room. Will aim to stay here again when I return to Cinderford.
Car Park can get full when busy serving meals but I always found a space. Traffic noise could be a problem at busy times but traffic was almost non-existent from late evening.

The staff were delightful, the food was delicious and the shower was huge. It was awesome. The rooms were very nice and there were large clean fluffy towels bought to the room each day and if you were busy they left them outside for you. Overall a lovely place. According to other guests there are some beautiful woods nearby but I did not make it out much.
The bed was a little squeaky, make of that what you will but the rooms were soundproof so really not a problem. They don't do room service which means you do have to actually leave the rooms for sustenance but that was probably a good thing.

Firstly, staff very friendly and helpful as were the other customers in the bar. I had a steak for my evening meal which was superb and it was all I could do to finish it, given the quantity of food on my plate. The following morning I had a full English which again was superb and huge. Full marks for food. The room was a good size, with a nice en-suite which was very clean. Also, lots of nice little touches like the serviettes in the dining room being sealed with a little sticker saying made with love. Very nice.
The stairs leading up to the bedrooms are pretty steep and the lights don’t always work on the lower flight I found. There was plenty of cupboards in my room but no where that i could see to hang clothes I.e no wardrobe or hanging area.

Room was good size and bed was very comfortable. breakfast was excellent and meal in restaurant in the evening was good. Staff were pleasant and helpful. A very pleasant place to stay. Would stay there again if in the area.
Local town of Cinderford felt a little bit sad and neglected. which was a shame as the area is actually stunning. Could have done with being able to borrow a hair dryer at the property - although perhaps if the property caters more to walkers or hikers in the area, possibly people have a more casual attitude to appearance and there is less call for using hairdryers. The inn itself was lovely.

The room and the bathroom were a nice size. The bed was comfortable. The meals in the bar were made from good quality ingredients and when having steak it was cooked exactly as requested. The breakfast selection was good and we always found something to set us up for the day. The bar and food prices were very reasonable and as already said the food portions were more than enough. The staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. The location meant that going out and about was easy. This made our holiday that bit more special as we could visit so many places.
Nothing was a problem.

The room was very nice & a good size and the bed very comfortable. The shower room was modern and easy to use. Access from the car park to the room was straightforward- always useful for people like me who bring a lot of 'stuff' ! The room door lock was good - meaning you couldn't lock yourself out! And the leaving procedure was easy and meant you could easily leave very early, as I did, without any fuss. Thanks.
I was only a little disappointed that the huge wardrobe in the room didn't actually have any hanging space - just shelves! But I managed.

The staff are friendly and the pub is totally dog friendly, the location is great and the food was lovely. I love that they accept dogs in the rooms and the bar and restaurant. The walks in the forest of Dean are close and fantastic. The rooms are great (although a bit too hot for me) they have everything you need and are done out very well. I would highly recommend this pub for a stay and food.
There was a 30th birthday party during our stay and it was under our bedroom and quite loud and didn't finish till 11pm, it took a long time to be served (although they were busy) so even though they said to stay at our table and they would be over it was quicker to go to the bar ourselves.

Nice comfortable room, and despite being located opposite a main road, it was surprisingly quiet. Shower was good pressure. Breakfast was fantastic, plus there was a good range of times, including very early which would be ideal for site workers. The location itself is good for easy access to the town centre both on foot and by car, plus near some nice places to go for a walk.
