in addition to all the amenities that a boutique hotel provides, here are a few more things that stood out for me. *Customer service - it was exceptional. They truly want to create an experience for you. They tailor breakfast to your needs (Im vegan) and they go out of their way to assist you. I needed help with arranging a day pass for the Hyatt and Cathy took care of everything. Even after I had checked out. fantastic! *As it was by birthday, I was able to negotiate a discount for my second night. *Free refill of water bottle. *Hotel provides earplugs :-)

*Hotel is located right by the wall facing east and at 8/9 am it started getting really hot. The Room tuned sticky as soon as you turned air con off. I suggest you ask for a second key card to leave one the the room can be kept cool. (yes it rises energy consumption but room is too hot and sticky otherwise). *No noise from bars or parties however the cars and party buses pass by often so I definitely recommend earplugs!! * I had a wonderful stay at Casa Isabel but in terms of prices, I personally found that the boutique price vs value/comfort of room could be enhanced (room was fairly small). I treated myself to two nights there even though I found more economic options nearby with larger rooms and even more comfort.

I travel a lot but I’ve never seen such a friendly and helpful staff as at Casa Isabel. Every time you walk in they welcome you with a refreshing cold towel and a delicious juice. That’s not all, they genially make time for you for a lovely conversation. You learn about the neighborhood and they make sure all your wishes can be fulfilled! We had a nice time with Giulio but the whole team is great and dedicated to their work. We’ve met the owner Luis and even that our stay was perfect he’s always looking for things to improve. Don’t hesitate and book your stay at Casa Isabel!!

Nothing at all. It’s a shame that this level of service is hard to find anywhere else!

Great staff - super friendly, always ready to make for a comfortable and memorable stay. Welcoming us with a friendly smile every time we enter the hotel, offering a cool towel and refreshing juice. It was like home away from home thanks to Julio, Javier and Kati. Breakfast was also fantastic. Cocktails on the rooftop lounge with jacuzzi is really a luxury. Within walking distance to the happening spots of Getsemani 3-5 min. and the historical town 10-15 min but quiet and calm.

The stairs may be a problem for people with mobility issues. But the staff is always willing to help carry things if necessary.

A small, cute hotel on the edge of Getsemani area - this means it is still close enough to all the attractions, but quieter than more Getsemani-central properties. It takes about 5-10 minutes to get to the historic centre. (But personally, I much prefer the more hippy/arty Getsemani to the centre anyway). Felt safe at all times and did plenty walking after dark. Generally, uneven pavements seem to be the main risk. Location:10/10. The room was quite quirky with all the usual facilities. Clean. Comfy bed. Good wifi. Hot water. Decent hairdryer. AC worked at all times. Great roof terrace. Delicious and varied breakfast made to order, with both traditional and more ‘Western’ options. Room/facilities 10/10 Service: where do you start, every single person from the reception and cleaning staff to the owner herself were amazing: kind, helpful and warm. They really do make their guests feel like home. 1000/10 Would definitely stay here again and hope to return next year!

Nothing, great value for money.

A fantastic hotel in a fantastic part of the city with the most friendly helpful staff ever. This hotel is a beautiful well decorated building but the staff make it truly special. The cocktails served on the rooftop are excellent, some of the best cocktails I've ever had. The hotel is one Street away from the arty area and so is quiet yet very safe. There is a police station along the road and the police seem to pop in for cold water which makes it even safer. The room was lovely and the ac would make it freezing within a few minutes of switching the ac on. The breakfast was huge and delicious with a fantastic view on the rooftop. Id love to come back here, and would definitely stay I this hotel. It would be great with normal staff - with the guys they've got it's perfect.

All was good.

This stay truly exceeded expectations! The location is excellent and the service 5 Star! The view from the terrace is lovely with a small marina and the Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas across the waterway with the city skyline in the background. The included breakfast goes way beyond the typical scrambled eggs, toast and coffee! It is a varied menu of 8 selections cooked to order served with juice, hot beverage, and assorted breads. It is very walkable to most points of interest in the historic center; as well as, an Exito supercenter for affordable groceries, sunblock, insect repellent (for Santa Marta), even swim gear. However, it's the small things that make Casa Isabel so special; return from a walk in the heat to a chilled towel and fresh juice during the day. The bed was very comfortable, pillows and linen pristine. I highly recommend Casa Isabel and look forward to another stay! The internet was consistent enough to work with; in the early morning (5a - 6a) sometimes there were brief moments of disconnect; not more than 5 minutes. The rest of the day was very good.

Clean, charming rooms, very good breakfast with lots of choices, cute roof terrace, and good cocktails, too! :) The staff are some of the nicest we encountered anywhere in our travels throughout Colombia - we also had a chance to talk to the owner for a few minutes before our departure, and she was also lovely! Would definitely stay here again when in Cartagena.

No complaints! If you have mobility issues, be aware that there are stairs, but that's par for the course in older buildings. If you want to be in the thick of the action, it's just a short walk away, but this hotel is on a quieter street (I think that's a plus, others might not).

It was very well located at the historic center of Cartagena, but not directly next to the bars and restaurants that play music at night, so it wasn’t very loud at night but everything is still well walkable. The staff was amazing, very attentive and always helpful. They also helped with booking tours. The breakfast was fantastic and they always had free juices at the reception.

Unfortunately, the roof top was closed for maintenance.

This is the cutest boutique hotel on a quiet street just around the corner from the amazing Getsemani neighbourhood. The staff are incredible, room was super comfy and cute, rooftop patio relaxing and breakfast was amazing (pancakes!!). The neighbourhood is super interesting, with graffiti-lined streets, amazing restaurants, and an Instagram moment at every corner. The hotel itself overlooks the wall and fortress. It's a very quick walk through the park to the main touristy area, but if you are looking for somewhere a little quieter, so cute and super cool, this is the place.

Nothing! The power went off on my last night, but I wasn't really fussed. The staff were so helpful, asking me if I needed a light, or suggesting I enjoy the cooler breeze from the rooftop patio.

Quiet, comfortable rooms, even if on the smaller side. Warm and efficient staff. Thank you Cathy, Julio and Jose Luis for a wonderful stay. Very responsive and helpful. Loved the additional touches like unlimited free fresh juices, coffee, and cold towels every time I came in from the hot city. Also the always available jacuzzi on the top terrace. Great value for money.

Location is just at the outskirts of Getsemani on a slightly run down road, although the hotel is barely five minutes walk from the swinging night life of Trinidad Plaza and other hotspots.
