This motel is an excellent location. Perfect view of the beach, basically the back yard is feet away from the beach. Small balcony with chairs, our unit had a small kitchen, a loveseat and chair too. Very comfortable. They also had an indoor swimming pool. If you have kids you'll love the location, the beach being so close and an indoor pool in case our weather is too cold for the beach. We felt that it was very quiet. No slamming doors or people above us walking and stomping. I would definitely stay there again. Very close to Yachats too! Would recommend the restaurant "A Sea Note" to eat at. Family friendly and good food and prices.

We stayed in room 24. The bed was very comfortable, the room cute and cozy, everything worked really well and the shower was amazing! The pool and hot tub were functioning and were lovely to unwind in at the end of our outings. I think the plumbing is wonky, so it is very loud in the pool house, but hey I’m not there to chat anyway! It was clean and well kept, and as someone who owns a large pool, I understand the variables that go into pool upkeep. I don’t think visitors who leave nasty comments about the pool, understand this. It needs to be resurfaced and painted is all. It is perfectly fine and I am a “pool snob.” The walls were not thin, we couldn’t hear our neighbors at all. I do understand that there were some rowdy people there over the weekend that disrupted some friends of ours staying two doors down, but those folks were moved and our friends compensated. The fire pit was awesome, and the beach access is also awesome. It’s literally RIGHT there! No problem at all getting to it. I loved being able to go outside and vape too, since I am trying to quit smoking, it was awesome not to have signs everywhere in my face and people breathing down my neck as I enjoyed my vape and a drink on the lawn, watching the waves. The little continental breakfast was great too- being able to send my husband and daughter down to collect breakfast sandwiches, fruit, muffins and cereal, while I brewed coffee in our room, was AWESOME. We will definitely be back- the location is awesome, it is the perfect “Whole in the wall” place for people who aren’t Karens about dumb stuff. Definitely a work In progress, as it is an old inn, but I’m happy they’re fixing it up, and you can really tell that they love the place and have big dreams for it and it’s guests💗💗💗

Can’t think of anything I didn’t like!! Felt like a great place for regular folks!!

I used to stay at the Silver Surf as a kid about 40 years ago and I finally returned with my wife and children and it happily has not changed! It has a great indoor pool, easy beach access to a great beach, and really nice people working. We'll be back many times!

The only thing not to like about the Silver Surf is that it's not fancy. But that's also something to like!

Great location with an easy-to-access private beach (which we could see from our patio.) We stayed in a standard family room with two beds (one soft, one firm) and a kitchenette which had the bowls and mugs we needed to enjoy the hot cocoa and microwave popcorn provided in the lobby. There were also games, movies, and books to borrow. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was simple-- microwave a breakfast sandwich, make some toast, grab a yogurt. There was a grassy area just outside the pool house with a fire pit and tetherball. The hotel has definitely been there a while but it looks well taken care of and is clean.

The view was amazing. The room was clean and warm. Loved that they had everything needed to be comfortable. Would love to come back again someday. The gal that helped me check in was sweet and great costumer service. Loved the lil fireplace in the room. Yes, it was a little older style but I think thats what was charming about it.

I didn't like that I waited in the lobby for 20 min before any staff arrived to help me check in...because I had to call the phone number for help. I didn't like that the TV did not work the 3 nights I was there. Just kept saying...no signal. And when I called to ask about it, no one answered. Im putting it down to being Thanksgiving weekend.

Perfect location, pool, hot tub, breakfast was good, they had dvds and games to borrow at the office , yard games. Overall really nice and fun. My kids loved it

When I booked I thought I was getting 2 queen beds but it was one king and a futon. My kids loved it and everything was fine. Pool didn’t allow toys or floats which was a bummer

Nice studio style room with great ocean view. Sraff told us of some updates in the works for the breakfast buffet area of the office as well as the access trail to the beach. Excited to come again soon. Quick walk through the back yard down to the sandy beach wasn't bad but will be nicer with a handrail once that project is completed. Really just a nice, quiet place to enjoy the Oregon coast.

This is a classic beachfront motel that’s been maintained fairly well over the years. The beach and ocean were only a few steps away with easy access. We stayed at the back which was quieter. We had a large kitchen fully stocked which we didn’t use. They provided an excellent hot breakfast-the best we had on our 2 week road trip.

You’d have to drive to a restaurant if you weren’t cooking in the room.

Great value. Clean and comfy. Having a pool and hot tub was a bonus! And let’s talk about the fantastic, easy access to the beach! Stupendous! They have so many more amenities then we figured they would have. Can’t wait to see the renovated breakfast area!

There was a big pothole at the front of the driveway and when we first came in we hit it good.

We stayed one night in a dog-friendly cabin unit, and were thankful those were available and pleased to be able to see the ocean from our location. There's a sign in the lobby saying that the pet-friendly rooms are being updated this winter; there are some things that are ready for an update. But everything was clean!The front desk was very friendly and helpful and we appreciated the options available for breakfast.
