We spent only 3 days in Venice, at the Carnival, during the chosen period also being my birthday. The hotel was perfect, well located, a 20 minute walk to the Rialto Bridge and another 10 to St. Mark's Square, through the winding streets of Venice. Super qualified and kind staff, especially Anka, from the reception, very friendly and always ready to help us. Thank you, dear Anka, for the way you are, we felt like we were friends, wonderful! On the first day we arrived very early and they offered us breakfast because we wouldn't have been able to have it anyway on the last morning, as we were leaving very early. We didn't ask for this, the proposal came from them and we thought it was very nice. I had the most beautiful room with a view of the Grand Canal, room 201, the only one with a large terrace in the entire hotel. The cleaning was impeccable, many congratulations to the staff who did this service! On Sunday, when I got back to the hotel, there was a birthday cake with a card from the hotel waiting for me in the room (it was my birthday) and it was a wonderful surprise = a big plus for the attention they give to their guests. The hotel also offered us a free private tour of one of the factories in Murano with transport included, which again we thought was very nice of them. All the staff were very kind throughout our stay with them. The breakfast was very good, with several choices of cheeses, cold cuts, fresh fruit, homemade cakes, tarts and muffins, 3 kinds of juice, several choices of tea and coffee, so quite varied, you could easily find something to like it On the morning we left, very early (about 4 o'clock), they offered us coffee and biscuits. The stay at their place was full of those small gestures and details that make the difference and that turn an average stay into something exceptional.

They didn't have a coffee maker in the room. It would have been useful as we arrived back exhausted and it would have been nice to be able to enjoy a tea or coffee in the evening on the lovely terrace of the room.

Our stay at Hotel Canal Grande was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, the warm and welcoming staff made us feel at home, offering impeccable service with genuine hospitality. The hotel itself is a beautifully restored historic palace, blending classic Venetian charm with modern comforts. Every detail, from the elegant decor to the breathtaking views of the Grand Canal, added to the atmosphere of luxury and romance. Our room was stunning, with rich fabrics, antique furnishings, and a lovely balcony overlooking the water—truly a dream come true. The location is perfect—close enough to the main attractions while still offering a peaceful retreat away from the crowds. Breakfast was a delightful experience, served in a charming dining room with fresh and high-quality options. This hotel is a hidden gem in Venice, offering an unforgettable blend of history, comfort, and world-class service. I can’t recommend it highly enough—if you’re looking for a truly special stay in Venice, Hotel Canal Grande is the place to be!

It was all great 😊

We loved the location as it was very central but also very quiet too. Easy to get to hotel by water boat, the private water taxi to Murano Glass factory and to the airport were something else. We visited local cafés and restaurants nearby the hotel to experience the city. We were able to see everything we wanted to see and do by walking, water boats etc. The staff were very happy to meet all of our needs eg. Help book trip to Murano, giving guidance with map of recommended walks to places or extra tea bags. Had the best stay, will definitely recommend hotel to other people. Very magical city.

Nothing we didn't like. Bit complicated to get to hotel initially from Marco Polo airport as we didn't book water taxi direct to hotel so had to catch a bus then water boat to stop near hotel but once we got the hang of it was easy enough. That was my own fault for not planning ahead.

⁃        Hospitality stands out when is joined by politeness and warmth! These ingredients made my stay at THE CANAL GRANDE HOTEL IN VENICE more than comfortable or pleasant, memorable. ⁃        My room with a balcony was overlooking the leafy square, while from the windows I could see the busy waterfront, and the nearby bridge with the endless movement around the train station at the bank opposite. Yet no noise. On the sunny days the beautiful Venetian light lit up the room. ⁃        The decoration of my room and the downstairs salon and breakfast area is period, an elegant twist of good quality. The curtains, the upholstery and the linen is new, clean and fresh in touch. My room was well provided with the functional part too: The kettle, the mini bar, the wifi, the good shower. ⁃        A great variety of tasty quality food for any taste in a serene atmosphere and view of the canal at breakfast gave the best boost for the day. ⁃        Clean, quiet, discreet yet generous in helpfulness and politeness! The greatest asset of THE CANAL GRANDE HOTEL IN VENICE is the staff. From the booking to the farewell, the communication has been clear, polite and very satisfactory. At the reception you can get info on Venice and any help required. The service and room maintenance is impeccable. ⁃        The location is convenient to be reached by vaporetto at Riva de Basio day or night. You find restaurants and cafe’ all around Campo San Giacomo or along the canals just minutes afar. ⁃        I have travelled enough in my life to grant an extra value for the care invested in the details and the services providing hospitality. The CANAL GRANDE HOTEL does not disappoint not even those of the philo-Venetians who seek to saviour the phantasy of staying temporarily in a Venetian palace. I was lucky to enjoy the Christmas tree too. ⁃        Overall I would say it is good value for money. Looking forward to return to the lovely hotel. Happy Christmas to everyone!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, the room was nice and comfortable, breakfast was good and provided gluten free options. We sat on the balcony to enjoy the afternoon sun and a vino after a days exploring most days. The staff were wonderful and very helpful, must shout out to Anka for all her help, she was amazing! They provide a lot of information in relation to organising transport and things to do and also include a free Murano Glass factory tour out to the island which was an added bonus.

Nothing to dislike about the stay

Location was perfect . Not in the most touristy spot in venice which is a good things. You can take the private water taxi right to the entrance door of the hotel on the canal , or can take the water bus which is 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Lots of nice restaurants around . The rooms were beautiful specially when we were freely upgraded to the only room with terrace over the grand canal ! The staff were more than helpful , assisting us in any kind of inquiries we had specially Nora and Chiara . I absolutely recommend this place for any couple who want to stay inside the venice grand canal . Preferably no children !

We had a wonderful stay! Location was great - short walk from the train station, on the main canal. It was tucked away, so did not feel crowded at all. Check-in was quick, and our room was ready on time. We had a nice room on the main floor, with a small patio / garden area. Decor in the room was very nice ! Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was very nice. At checkout, the team was very happy to store our bags until our departure later in the day. Very pleasant experience!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Canal Grande Hotel. It is a gorgeous historic building and our room was really beautiful with a view of the Grand Canal from every window. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, offering to make reservations, giving us tips on where to go and what to see, and going above and beyond to help us feel like honored guests. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious by European standards. The location was quieter than the crazy San Marco district but still had wonderful restaurants and shops. We walked everywhere, but it would be very easy to get a vaporetto from the hotel. We arrived via the express bus (number 35) from Marco Polo airport. The bus stop was a 10-minute walk to the hotel, making the logistics very easy. Other guests have commented on the noise from the Grand Canal, it really was minimal, but as noted, boats do go by all night.

Can't think of anything. We loved it.
