We rode our bikes to Basel to watch the Women's Euro. We were able to store our bikes in the luggage room while we enjoyed the marches and the city. The hotel was ready with directions and information for all of the Euro fans. Our room was very spacious. The AC worked well but we would have liked to be able to open a window to get some fresh air and get a feel for the temperature outside. The breakfast buffet was well stocked. There were lots of options. As a person with celiac, I really appreciated that the gluten-free bread and crackers were no where near the regular bread. I was able to enjoy the bread without being concerned about cross-contamination. The hotel provides guests with a Basel card which allows one to use the public transportation for free and gives half-price discounts to many of the museums.

Lovely hotel on a good location and with friendly stuff. Some big pluses: + Good location, on a walking distance from the main train station + The station for tram number 15 is just around the corner, with only few stops to the old city center + The public transportation is free of charge, once you receive the card from the hotel desk + Breakfast is very good, with plenty of choices + There is a coffee machine in the lobby which you can use for free + Very clean room + Comfortable beds + Stuff always there to help you and assist you + 3 big lifts, which is rare even in big and fancy hotels

- There is only one thing: Who thought it was a good idea to put a two-part sliding door in the bathroom? The door can't close all the way. This should be changed to a classic door.

I had a fantastic stay at Ibis Styles Hotel! First and foremost, the staff were absolutely wonderful—everyone from the receptionists to the breakfast team, and the cleaners were genuinely friendly and helpful, making the stay even more enjoyable. The location is also excellent. It’s within walking distance of the train station (SBB) and just a 20-minute walk to St. Jacobshalle event venue.. For anyone planning to visit for an event at St. Jacob's and who doesn’t mind walking 20-30 mins this hotel is a great choice. I was anxious about the walk when booking however the walk was just a straight road. Very safe walking and easy to cross roads with lots of zebra crossings. While there aren’t many restaurants in the immediate area, there is a fantastic Thai restaurant just opposite to the right of the hotel. The hotel itself doesn’t serve food beyond breakfast, but the breakfast provided was excellent for a 3-star hotel, with plenty of options including gluten free (gluten free bread 👌). The 24-hour coffee machine offering tea and various coffee choices, which was a great touch. Don't be put off by other reviews where people state about the nearby railway track. The railway track has no interference with this hotel. Overall, Ibis Styles is located in a good location perfect for accessing St Jacobshalle and Basel city. Highly recommended!

I loved our modern corner room with two aspects of windows. It was clean and very comfortable. There were blackout blinds and nice curtains. The shower was powerful, the separate toilet had an excellent silent extractor fan. There was a lot of lighting which made it atmospheric. Overall the design of the room was clever. The staff were very helpful and informative. The breakfast was excellent. The location is convenient for St Jakobshalle, city centre and train station. The Basel transport card is including with the stay, so travel all around was free and back to the airport. Highly recommend.

Our room was too hot to start with, the temperature was set at 22 degrees and the only way to cool it down was by turning the whole system off. It then went down to 18 which was better to sleep in.

Location was one tram station away from the main rail station. We received a public transportation pass for the entire stay, which was very useful. Breakfast was plentful and qualitative. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Our room, at 6th floor, facing the railway, was quiet. The room was clean and taken care of every day. Staff was friendly.

I do understand that Switzerland is an expensive country, but for 185 eur per night, I would have expected more: the room was relatively small, there was no seif, the last refurbishment was done some time ago... An important note is room temperature: during our stay, the real temperature in the room was around 20-21 degrees, too cold for us, given it was winter time (room thermostat was set at the maximum).

Breakfast was good. Even though there were a lot of people, the food was always replenished. The room was clean, and the free coffee/tea corner was excellent.

The staff did not allow early check-in before 2:00 PM, even though there were clean rooms available. We arrived at 12:30 PM, but they asked for an extra €30 to check in just 1.5 hours early. There was only one bottle of water in the room, even though we were two people. No slippers were provided. The location was not very convenient—there were no nearby food spots, and the nearest public transport stop was a bit far from the hotel.

The reception staff was very friendly and professional and keen to guide us into an enjoyable weekend in Basel. They prepared us a set of Basel cards that we weren't aware of, but allowed us to enjoy free public transportation during our stay and reduced prices on many attractions.

The room wasn't very clean: hair on the ground of the room and bathroom, and some small junk (no thank to the previous customers either, eh). During breakfast, there was a big tv screen above our table. It was showing the latest news, including war scenes and medical images. This was disturbing our kids. However, the staff refused to turn if off, arguing they "had" to show the news and that it was without sound anyhow.

Nice staff at the reception, transportation included in city tax, possibility to relax in the downstairs lounge, great breakfast choice and nice personnel during breakfast service.

Hurried to check out from cleaning staff, although I was right on time at 12. Getting a call in the room and also one person entering the room directly after just a short knock at 11:50 rushing me to leave was unpleasant. This didn't happen to me anywhere at other hotels and I was not late checking out.

The room was very modern, stylish and sound proof insulated , nice bath room and shower cubicle. Friendly reception team, free coffee and tea available in the lobby, luggage deposit, a 10 minute foot walk to the main train station. There is a nice bar in the lobby section . Breakfast was ample, but the breakfast room rather noisy and not as clean and welcoming as expected for an in-style place

The breakfast room should be better organised, the trays, cutlery and plates lack quality , especially tables and need to be better cleaned, staff did not get up to speed doing so with a close to full house. Quality of the buffet was a 3* due to those observations.

The hotel is very easy to get to from the station and given that I was only making a brief stop in Basel, that was very convenient. The building is relatively new and everything was in very good order. The thing that impressed me the most, however, was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. For example, I had overlooked to bring an adapter for the Swiss plug sockets. They not only lent me one, they let me have a cup of tea when I returned to collect my suitcase and could sit comfortably for a moment to charge my phone.

Just a minor thing. I was not able to turn the heating down in my room, which was set at 20 degrees and wouldn’t move. That was a little bit warm for me. The bed was very comfortable and I would have slept much better otherwise.
