I liked the open plan lobby/bar/eating space. I really liked the covered outdoor area. The room was clean and well appointed. Drinks were fine, food was fine, not terribly expensive.
I was disappointed that the live music that was on the calendar didn't happen. Also, I was surprised by the parking fees. They are not advertised on the booking site, it only says On site parking. It does NOT say onsite parking for $55 per night. I found street parking for free, but I didn't feel great about leaving my car on the street overnight, about dragging my suitcase 4 blocks or about walking alone to the hotel very late at night. That parking fee needs to be disclosed to people. Or significantly lowered. On the email it said that local parking garages charge a similar price, but the San Antonio garage only charged $18 per night. Anyway, aside from those things, it is a stylish and cool place to stay and I enjoyed it.

The property was conveniently located across the street from the University of Texas campus. My daughter and I traveled 4 hours to get there, so we could go on a college tour. The Moxy was in close proximity to several shops, and we could take the scooters to explore the campus on our own a little more. The Zombie tacos made it very convenient for a late night snack and breakfast. The room and Hoyle were both just adorable and had that “Austin” vibe ti enhance the experience. All of the staff were amazing and filled us in on other things to do while visiting Austin.
It takes a little used to getting used to the shower in the room but there is a large curtain to pull for privacy on that whole half of the room.

Absolutely everything. The staff are so just perfect. They offered recommendations on what to do in the area. They gave me tips about living in the city. This was deeper than Southern Hospitality. I have been going through very hard times--understatement--and, it felt all the more beautiful and amazing and really was just a great advertisement for humanity, itself. Warm and welcoming, maybe more than I have ever experienced in my entire life, which is kind of sad, but also it felt so good, after having felt like everyone in the world hates me. The room on the 5th floor has a gorgeous city view on the drag side (Guadalupe Street). Simply excellent. The ambiance of the hotel is so comfortable. The decorations make you stop and stare. I didn't indulge in the tacos or music or events or mingle too much, but if you want a place to meet people and have some fun times, the lobby area was amazing as well. It's there if you want it, and if not, you don't have to bother with it.
So the only issue I had was there was no microwave in the room. And I eat mostly just microwaved Oh, they don't bother me, personally, but I understand homeless can make some people uncomfortable. They didn't hang out around Moxy, but they are in the surrounding area, just like most cities. But there's also mostly just UT students walking around. I never felt unsafe, and I'm a generally anxious person.

The staff were great! Especially Kemp and Jennifer at the bar. We came back from 6th and I had rolled my ankle and they got right on getting me a bag of ice for my ankle. Everyone was really friendly and it was excellent.
This isn't really the hotels fault but we are canadian, and with the exchange the room ended up being $500 a night. It was a lot to spend. Again not really the hotels fault i get that. It's not really made for working in your room, the desk is small and the chair isn't really comfortable. However it's a small complaint. Overall It was an excellent experience.

So cute and comfy. Staff was so nice and welcoming. Loved being able to walk down Guadalupe to so many diff things.
Loved having the parking garage attached but didn’t love that it’s $45 a night.

Bus station just in front of the hotel, fantastic cleaning services, comfortable bed, plenty of good restaurants nearby, they have nearly everything. I am a new international student at UT and I was quite nervous during my first few days in the U.S. But the workers of Moxy were super kind and helpful, highly recommend anyone who shares a similar position with me to choose here as your first station.
My room had no desk, making it inconvenient for me to use my laptop. Since they always have to play music in the lobby(there's a bar), I had to leave the hotel to find a place to work every day.

The ambience and vibe of the hotel is very fun and inviting. They had decorated for Halloween during our stay and really went all out. It was super cool! The room was comfortable and amenable if minimalist. The common areas downstairs are very comfy and open with plenty of seating options inside or out. The bar and Zombie Taco in the lobby make it easy for a quick bite or sip.
It would have been nice to have lotion and a coffee maker in the room, but given the streamlined approach and style, I understand why the coffee maker was absent. Nothing else comes to mind about dislikes.

Likes: A very warm welcome, informative and easy check-in upon arrival. Very comfortable bed! Room was upgraded at a very reasonable rate - I had plenty of space since I was traveling solo. Room was very clean. Great location - close to my daughter’s college apartment. Utilizing their parking garage was easy and convenient.
This particular stay was wonderful! Thank you for taking care of my feedback from a previous visit. The improvements were very much appreciated! Only dislike was the cost of parking fee - a bit high in my opinion.

The room (541) was very small. It had one very uncomfortable chair (giving my husband a temporary nerve problem on the back of his legs). The bench was comfortable, but one couldn’t sit on it without banging one’s head on the TV. Nice gym.
The shower had a gap in the door, which caused water to flow out into the bedroom. No coffee in the room; not everyone is wild about having to get dressed before their first cup of coffee. No pool or hot tub.

Good location for being near university buildings. Lots of cool thrift stores nearby. Nice that they have a taco counter in the lobby, could grab a bite at night and in the morning. Very clean and things feel pretty new.
Weird thin blanket. Dark colours, feels like being in eternal blackness. Room furniture was pretty basic, the sink in the entrance gives a prison cell vibe and no desk or similar surface in the room. A bit dark even with all the lights on.
