the location, over the road from the beach, and the view of the ocean and Surfers Paradise were amazing from the 20th floor . The apartment was spacious and comfortable with a great kitchen and facilities. The friendly staff let us check in a few hours early after arriving from the UK which was great. Nice pools and garden. Lovely area, near Tedder Ave with its restaurants and shops.

On arrival, the apartment was dirty. Dust everywhere and a rug that was filthy. Disappointing given the cost and a long flight. However, when we reported this, the excellent staff acted immediately by coming to see for themselves. They agreed with us and sent up a cleaner who tried his best but didn't make much difference. He left us the cleaning stuff and we did it ourselves. A brand new rug arrived a few days later so everything was sorted.

Apt was fabulous. Big Kitchen. The view was great, we could see the beach from lounge, kitchen window and bedrooms. Staff were friendly and accommodating when we had an issue with our beds. They had a solution which was great. Excellent customer service. First time staying in Main beach, loved it. Great location, restaurants walking distance. Some really nice places to eat. Close to Australia Fair shopping center.

Our beds.. they were really hard and uncomfortable. Very painful back after a couple of days & not much sleep. Front desk supplied mattress toppers, made a huge diff. Wish I'd told them sooner. Ensuite shower door didn't close properly, water all over floor. Soaked the bath matt. Shower head old, pressure was not good. This was in both showers. Needs to be updated.

Comfortable and spacious

Unfortunately the apartment we stayed did not have enough utensils in the kitchen for cooking. Such a big apartment and only 6 square plates, so you have to put them in the dishwasher to be ready for the next meal. Not to mention that there is no wine opener, not one salad bowl or container. I think there’s room for improvement in this apartment In addition, the balcony was filthy. It would be good to clean it after every stay. There is a weber in the balcony that we couldn’t use. There’s an empty container there that could be removed, as you can’t sit outside due to tight space. There is a big otoman in the middle of the living room that takes a lot of space, it’s not useful at all.

Apartment 10A has beautiful beach decor, amazing view of the ocean as well as the river and mountains, views from every room. Michelle went above and beyond to make our stay beautiful. The beach opposite is beautiful and quiet for morning walks/swim, and a lovely cafe and 7-11 next door

Unfortunately some of the outdoor facilities were closed due to renovations but once they are finished it will be such a beautiful space with grass beside the pool and tennis court, outdoor pergola/gym and bbq area - I just wish we could have enjoyed it! We did love the indoor pool and tennis court during our stay!

Fantastic location and lovely spacious apartment. Great indoor pool. Having an in-unit washer and dryer was also a huge bonus. Onsite parking was also much appreciated. A short walk to the shops and restaurants of Tedder Ave, as well as several beachfront playgrounds that our kids loved. Only a five-minute drive to Sea World, too.

The sheets didn't fit the beds properly so got all scrunched up in the night and we had to remake them every day. Beach/pool towels are not supplied and there is a charge to hire. We ended up using our bath towels for the pool and then having to wash and dry them every day. The extra fold-out bed was absolutely rock hard - we had to make it with loads of blankets on top of the mattress just to make it vaguely comfortable for my daughter.

The location & unit was beautiful. Albeit two unit blocks going up in front, didn’t deter our Holliday with noise or restriction. Staff & amenities all good. Only one thing that was annoying, my husband had to keep changing colour on tv because it went pink & green. Otherwise all good.

No coffee machine in unit, & very little convenience items eg dishwasher tabs, washing liquid, washing pwdr. Or even milk pods, we didn’t arrive till 11.30pm & had no milk for a cuppa. Also instructions to get keys for unit when you arrive late was a bit confusing.

Arrival after reception had closed was smooth and easy. We experienced a slight glitch as our apartment had been double booked. Staff could not have been more apologetic and helpful, and we were moved to another apartment a few days later. Our first apartment was newly renovated, and a dream to walk into, with views to the hinterland, the river, and a glimpse of the beach. The second was fine, but a bit more worn. We needed a few additional kitchen items which staff immediately provided. Facilities are excellent – pools, gym, bbq area; exceptionally clean. Sunbird is very well located; Tedder Avenue shops, restaurants just around the corner; short walk to the light rail; beach just across the road; easy walk to Cavill Avenue along the beach. We would most definitely stay at Sunbird again.

With more high-rise apartment blocks being built, some views are being blocked, and construction noise can be very loud.

We liked the view of the beach from the high floor-very calming, relaxing, the location was handy, because it was very close to restaurants, the beach and more. Kids loved the indoor/outdoor swimming pools and spa, the full sized tennis court and the squash court. Apartment was very well stocked with appliances, cooking utensils, etc and full Foxtel access was great.

1.) WIFI connection is too slow 2.) Not enough USB plug or socket at bed room and living room. 3.) Some fixtures and furniture are too old. 4.) Without provide seasoning (oil, salt & pepper), we buy by ourselves. 5.) Quality of coffee and tea is general 6.) House size is big but bathing room is too small and water is easily run from bathing room, it let floor become slippery.

Location was good. Easy access to beach, bus stop. 10 minute walk to the light rail. Good tennis court…good swimming pools (outdoors and indoors)

The carpet in the bedrooms need a good clean.. if not cleanable new carpet will give a better look for this category of accommodation . Reception is closed by 1200pm on Sundays which can cause issues for visitors departing on a Sunday on Air New Zealand departure time 1900 for New Zealand. After 1200 you can not access left luggage as property all locked up. That means you cannot do anything on final day as you have all your luggage. (wasted day)
