Hallways were wide & well decorated, Carpets were clean & unstained. Rooms were large, well decorated, clean and comfortable. Basic necessities were provided. Breakfast was typical hotel breakfast fare, but much more than simply a 'continental' breakfast. Yes, there were cold cereal options, pastries, bagels, doughnuts, but also hot bacon, sausages (patty & links), hash brown potatoes, scrambled eggs (albeit powdered), hot oatmeal and an on-demand pancake machine. Staff were extremely courteous & helpful in recommending restaurants in the area that weren't typical tourist traps. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay and if we come back to this area we will definitely book here again!

We liked the big room with a sofa bed and 2 king beds for 5 of us, the pool, hot tub and breakfast with the fresh pancake machine and juices. The service was great! I had been travelling with a cooler full of frozen sruff and staying in Airbnbs cooking our food but stayed here in Best Western for 2 nights so they were very accomodating and put all my stuff in their freezer while we were in Monterey. Saved our food fr spoiling.

The location wasnt near anything we can walk to at night. Fishermans wharf is around 10 to 15 mins walk with not much to see in between.

Staff was excellent, friendly and helpful. Room and facilities were clean and beds were comfy. Included breakfast was ok but adequate. We did appreciate the coffee/hot chocolate machine and tea station in the very welcoming lobby. Location was perfect, near downtown and all the main attractions, beach, restaurants and stores (shopping mall, grocery store and pharmacy). Short drive to the freeway. Definitely recommend and would stay again.

Breakfast could have been better. Sausage was if-fy but it was adequate and convenient to start off our day.

This was an excellent stay with very helpful and communicative staff. The room was very spacious and besides some noise due to our room facing the street and lobby driveway we had a very comfortable and peaceful stay. The complimentary breakfast was great too!

The noise coming from the street and the lobby driveway, there were several points during both our nights where we were woken up by someone pulling into, starting their car or slamming doors in the lobby driveway.

From the moment we checked in, the staff was friendly & welcoming . A covered parking garage with ease in finding a parking space was a plus. Our room was amazing - it was clean, fresh towels/ linens, and the bed was so comfortable even my husband was in aw over the room / bed!! Lol The fact that this hotel even provided a true designated smoking area for guests was so great! I am really pleased with this hotel. Will stay here again and will recommend it 👌

The breakfast: It's not that " I didn't like" . The Selections were good - just think it wasn't cooked long enough.

First of all, it was our first time in this hotel and we stayed with our family. The front desk night and morning shift staff were friendly and professional. The hotel was clean and well-designed. O The room was good and the bed was comfortable! I didn't expect that the breakfast was gonna be amazing! You know hotel breakfast is usually bagels, jam, and coffee. However, they have a pancake machine, cold juice machine, fruits, omelets with cheese, hash browns, etc. It was so delicious! There is a complimentary coffee machine 24 hours in the lobby. Everything was amazing and thank you for your service!

We used Monterey as a "base" to explore the Highway No. 1 as we couldn't drive all along because of the blockage of the road. So we stayed here for two nights and found the hotel to be very nice and welcoming, perfect spot to start the journey along the coast. We didn't visit any attractions in Monterey itself as the fantastic vistas along the coast were the thing we wanted to see.

The breakfast was complimentary. As a European that's the only positive thing I can write about American hotel breakfasts. That's not the hotel's fault though, that's a general thing. But since when did they start using plastic plates and cutlery only?

Location is perfect. You are close to the wharf and a lot of cafes/restaurants. Staff are great. Friendly and professional. Rooms are clean and spacious.

Breakfast is pretty bad. Eggs don't taste like eggs. They are diluted in milk or whatever they are mixed with to a point where I don't know what I'm eating. Hash browns are very bland, white and tasteless. Only redeeming thing was the little pancake machine. This is pretty much what our kids ate even though they like eggs. No microwaves in rooms. So for a family with kids/babies, you will need to make trips to warm up milk and/or food. Bathroom sprinklers had a lot of rust that wasn't visually nice to see. Also corners of the bathroom sealing had some weird things that I believe can use some cleaning/removal.

Very clean, modern, and friendly, professional, informative staff (Alan Ramos checked us in). Walking distance to downtown. Room was large, clean, and quiet. Loved the 24 hr tea and coffee. We did not try the breakfast.

We wished the hot tub was opened a little later (closed at 9p), so we could have taken advantage after dinner, but honestly...that is such a small thing, I really had to think hard to answer this question. Everything was great, especially for the price!

We loved the close walk to the wharf and to Alverado street for shops and restaurants. We also enjoyed the breakfast served in the morning. Plenty of breakfast items to choose from, and perfect amount to get the day started.

I didn’t realize the hotel didn’t have AC. Most places in this area don’t typically and usually the temp is cool. The room did have an over head fan, but it was just on/off and not customizable, so it was a bit “breezier” than we would have liked at night.
