We can highly recommand to book your stay at Pension Buenpas. Jon is just an amazing guy, he really made our time in San Sebastian special. He had a lot of great tips and was always there when help was needed. The location of the Pension is also amazing, close to both beaches, as well as the oldtown. Bakeries, coffeeshops, supermarkets, bus stations, ... everything is close by. The cozy room has everything you need (even a little fridge) and there was also a coffee machine with little snacks and some fruits in the common area. Thanks for everything & see you next time again :-)

Amazing location less than 800m to the old town, beach and so many places to feast at! Incredible host. Super friendly, attentive, helpful and gracious. Very prompt with response times and providing so many recommendations daily. Even making bookings at local restaurants from his personal favourites list. We felt more like friends than guests. I would absolutely stay here again. East key card access to the property, rooms and shared bathrooms. Very secure.

Mattress quality could be improved slightly in the future but it was not uncomfortable. I am picky with mattress and pillows however.

We very much enjoyed our stay here. Brilliant location, very clean tidy room and a very welcoming shared area with free tea/coffee fruits and treats. John was an exceptional host! He was most welcoming and communicated clearly the directions to the guesthouse prior to our visit. He was very approachable and available and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was pleasant and comfortable. He also gave us some brilliant recommendations of places to visit in San Sebastián and beyond. We were also very grateful for his advice about areas to avoid where tourists may feel vulnerable to pick pockets etc.

Room - plenty big enough for 2 people, had air con, was cleaned, TV that could log into Netflix etc Bathroom - was shared but only between 2 rooms so was perfect, especially as we were the only ones there. Again was very clean, powerful shower and good hot water Coffee area - a fab little touch. Tea coffee and water provided along with sweets little cakes and biscuits. Perfect for when u get in and need refreshment or first thing on a morning Owners - super helpful and friendly, chatty and full of useful info Location - superb. 8 mins from bus station. Mins from the shopping part of town and only 10 if that into the old town and Concha beach. 15 mins if that into Gros

Only negative was I copied the address from booking.com into google maps and it took me somewhere else. Luckily I can speak Spanish so when I asked a neighbour, she worked out there is a high (alta) and low (baja) version of the same street. Turned out better as the accommodation is nearer town

Great location in walking distance of all San Sebastián has to offer. Ultra authentic inner city room with ensuite that had great charm. Perhaps the biggest highlight of this accomodation is the host, “Jon” who couldn’t stop himself from helping you such as booking restaurants, advice on walks and even helping us with our bags to our car-which was about 1 Km from the accomodation!

Not much but the room itself isn’t overly spacious[which just makes you explore more of this wonderful city]. There were works going on on the street outside, apparently looking for dead Englishmen! [ assume an archaeological dig] I would expect the street outside to have more “vibe” once the hunt is over.

Jon!! So attentive and friendly. He was eager to help answer questions about bus, running routes, etc. There was coffee, tea, and snacks upon arrival. A nice little area for making coffee with everything you need. It is located one block from the cathedral which we could see outside our window and three blocks from the sandy beach and promenade. So centrally located- easy to find!!! Next to historical quarters. We were able to leave our luggage there after check-out. Comfy beds! Walk to everything easily.

Communication from the start was really good making check in easy and Jon was available to offer help and advice if needed. Our room was very comfortable, quiet and clean. The location is great to get to the beautiful La Concha beach and into the old town with all it's Pintxos bars. It is also close to a train station with trains direct to Hendaye which was helpful for us as we went into France after leaving.

The room did not have much natural light as the window looked out over a courtyard area but as we were out most of the day it did not make much difference to us.

Our stay was amazing. The owner was so kind. He recommend us a lot of restaurants with so tasty food, also he helped us to make reservation in restaurant with michelin star in the same day when we arrived. Great location, so clean and so cute, very cozy. I would recommend stay here✨ Jon made our vacation in San Sebastian unforgettable and we have the best time ever. Also Jon recommend us some restaurants in Bilbao, because her mother leave there. I writing these review from one of his recommendations (restaurant Dando la Brasa) its delicious 👌

The Pension is central, round the corner from the Cathedral, and a 15 minute walk from the Concha beach and the area with lots of tapas bars and restaurants. Accomodation is clean and modern, the host was friendly and left us info on where to eat. Entrance is by keycode, the host left us clear guidance about this and was there to welcome us the next morning.. Tea and coffee making facilities in the entrance hall.

Its a historic building so the room was a bit small.

There is tea/coffee/fruit ad lib. Great location - 5 minute walk from the beach - 10 minutes to old city. A few minutes from the main shopping streets. The. host recommends places for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner - we tried those that were open - excellent. The parking which Jon recommends is only about a ten minute walk. Couldn't meet a more pleasant and helpful host than Jon.

Not the host's fault at all, but the city had decided to start building a metro with some of the works outside the pension! Jon Kindly paid one night's parking for us to allow for this.
