What a fabulous place Acorn house is. The house and the gardens were just beautiful, from the stylish accessories in the rooms and communal areas to the comfiest sun loungers. The pool maybe small but it was so refreshing and the view of the mighty Table Mountain just topped off the experience. It’s in a lovely suburb of Cape Town with several nice restaurants and bars a short walk away on Kloof street. Maaika the owner and her lovely staff made me feel so at home and nothing I asked was too much trouble. I really hope it’s not too long till I visit again.

I stayed here for work, and honestly, I couldn't have asked for more. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed by the hosts. • The styling of the house is tasteful and inviting — a perfect blend of comfort and elegance. • Breakfast was superb: fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. • The staff? Incredibly friendly and attentive, always one step ahead. Everything felt smooth, warm, and personal. It truly felt like a home away from home. I’ll absolutely be back.

A lovely property with the stunning backdrop of Table Mountain & yet only a short stroll to the heart of Cape Town. We had a fantastic welcome from the owner & her team & we were delighted with our room which had a separate lounge leading onto a terraced area. Breakfast was a veritable feast & nothing was too much trouble. We were provided with lots of top tips on restaurants and nearby attractions & this was a bonus. Thanks also for the late checkout & baggage storage plus my gorgeous fridge magnet gift.

Nothing to dislike. There was lots of lovely little touches such as an honesty bar, chocolate & caramels next to the bed & free flowing hot drinks on demand.

Everyting I liked. The warm welcome by the hosts, the excellent styling of the house. The superb breakfast, the service of the staff. Staff is friendly. The room is styled to perfection, the bathroom is new and clean. You can park in the street for free and you will always find a spot. In case you need help, blink with your eyes and the staff is there. It feels very safe and welcome. Rooms have air conditioning, TV with all possible channels. There is a swimming pool, lots of lounge facilities in the garden and around the house, all in perfect condition.

Seriously, nothing! The airco in my room broke down, and they instantly call a technician to fix it. The water supply was off for a couple of hours (happens in South Africa) and the bottles of water and buckets of water were supplied by the staff.

We had an amazing stay at acorn house - the perfect start for our family holiday. We were travelling with two children aged 2 and 5. They had all the needed equipment, and the friendly staff made sure to accommodate us by the pool with toys, towels and even cookies for the kids etc when we arrived a few hours before check-in after our long haul flight. The room was spacious, stylish and very clean, and the breakfast is lovely. The area is beautiful and relaxed with a nice cafe just on the corner of the street. Maaike provided us with various good recommendations for the rest of our destinations as well, which has been great. We highly recommend staying at acorn house to experience this lovely place :)

Its a stunning and very imoressive house in a superb location with magnificent views and a team that works so excellent and polite hand in hand that it immidiately feels like home. They take their time with you, always up for a chat, noone is rushed or stressed and they cater to all your wishes and serve the best breakfast i ever had.

Where to begin here? Will never forget arriving from the UK winter… The personal welcome and the feeling of being guests rather than just another room number… loved the utterly charming period house, and our room which had a balcony overlooking the city and views beyond. Homely, relaxing, with lovely garden with plenty of space to chill with a glass of wine after days out and about. We felt we could not have been in a better location: Oranjezicht, a relatively peaceful and beautiful setting, right at the foot of Table Mountain yet within an easy and cheap 10 min cab ride from the V&A and Camps Bay. If you prefer this kind of set up to being in the thick of the busy/hyped up tourist zones and can get a room then look no further! Huge thanks to Maaike and her wonderful team. You made our time in Cape Town extra special.

The perfect place to start our 3 week honeymoon! Fantastically friendly staff and owner- we basically had a personalised itinerary sorted for us every day (and it was always spot on!) Peaceful location, but close to the hustle and bustle - we ubered everywhere really easily and cheaply. We’ll absolutely stay again should we ever be back in Cape Town!

Nice and safe place to stay (also as a family). Breakfast was nice with additional options such as eggs or pancakes. Very close to table mountain cable car station (10min). Just across the street is also a deli with nice pastries, good coffee and other snacks or even lunch or dinner options.
