The atmosphere is very homely. The staff willing to do everything and always smiling. Regular cleaning and changing of beds. The swimming pool garden is small and pleasant. It didn't matter what time we arrived at the pool garden, we always got a sunbed. The food was very good, we had half board. Many thanks for us, Berglind and Þórir from Iceland

We had a great time staying here. One of the rooms we booked was not available when we arrived but the staff were great and came up with a different arrangement which worked out well. The rooms and the bathrooms were spacious, spotlessly clean and we had a great sea view. Staff were friendly (thank you Patricia, Ines and Kevin among others) and always helpful. Kids loved the pool and having lunch at the pool bar. The atmosphere was really calm and relaxing. While the hotel seemed full, it wasn’t noisy or a problem. Nice quiet location within walking distance of lots of shops and Siam Park which was helpful. The other guests were also friendly, I got chatting to some couples who had been coming regularly for nearly 15 years, which says something.

The kids got a bit bored with the buffet food after a while and some parts of the hot breakfast could have been better but in fairness I thought the food was perfectly fine if you chose well.

Very friendly greeting on arrival and a good explanation of mealtimes, days our room would be cleaned and how to get to our room which completely fulfilled our requests. Comfy beds and immaculately clean room, bedding, towels and there was even washing up liquid, washing up cloths, a brush and tea towel.

Breakfast was a bit disappointing, lots of different cereals, yogurts, cold meats and cheese, pastries etc but the bacon was particularly unappetising and was very fatty - it looked like bits of bacon and fat squashed together then made into a square then thinly sliced and undercooked. As with most hotels the toasters weren’t very good, took ages to toast. There were 3 coffee machines which made a reasonable cup and 2 juice machines which we thought was good for a smaller hotel. Evening meals were good, not a huge choice but everything was tasty and always small jacket potatoes as an alternative to chips. Lovely ice cream and a good selection of fresh fruit and desserts.

The pool opening hours were a bit ridiculous: 10 am to 6pm. I am not sure if that is a city regulation but it was annoying. not every allergen was marked in the buffet. very limited vegan options. even though they can cook something, it is better to have dinner somewhere else. the rooms are not sound proof

The location closeby the ocean, free parking, helpful staff, clean rooms, breakfast, rooms are spacious and well equipped, complementary welcoming stack and a drink.

Not a deal breaker, but when staying for a week do consider that the dinners may feel very repetitive. You can switch dinner to lunch if you take half-board option which we did for a day. Noisy parrots from the neighbours some mornings and evenings were super annoying at first but you get used to it.

Good location right next to the beach and bars, walking distance to the bus station. Room was spacious and clean. All staff members were welcoming and helpful. The food was great and had a large choice (maybe would have liked one or two more vegetarian options for dinner, it was a lot of meat and fish mains). Nice pool and good selection of evening musical entertainment. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.

Great location, close to everything, but quiet. Front desk staff (especially Patricia) went out of their way to be helpful.

Nothing - was perfectly fine for the price. Could sometimes hear neighbors, but noise generally wasn't a problem. Some excitement among other guests to get their beach towels on the loungers as soon as the pool opened, but finding a spot wasn't usually a problem.

We had the most wonderful holiday here in July. We were kindly upgraded to a sea view room which was lovely. The hotel is quiet and not too busy despite being a brilliant location for many bustling areas locally! We booked two excursions from Reception, the Tiede & Masca Tour and Siam Park- both were easy to book and fantastic days out. The staff are all friendly and approachable and the food and drinks were of a much higher standard than I expected for the price. We really loved our time at Hovima and strongly recommend it!

The only (and absolutely only!) thing I disliked about our stay was the bed- it was two singles pushed together and even with the brakes on it would slide apart in the night. We got used to it but perhaps if there was a way of securing them together that would be ideal! But a small detail in an overall fabulous stay x

2nd stay in this hotel, 20-27 May 2023. My wife and I like the atmosphere, as the hotel is smallish, and sort of tucked away between larger stuff. The hotel is a little older, but very well-maintained. The medium size swimming pool is clean, deep enough for adults, but also has a shallow section for kids, and is surrounded by new, very good sunbeds, in a well-maintained garden-like setting. There is some towel laying going on in the morning, but people doing this really show-up not long thereafter and it's not annoying. There are enough sunbeds. The pool area also has a bar and an eating area. We had a room at ground level with our little terras facing the pool. This proved to be an excellent location (not in the last place to get your ice cold beers from your own fridge - don't tell El Socorrista). The room we had was large enough (you don't want to be in your room, but out anyway), had AC, good beds (2 single beds, on wheels, so beware of the split!), and the bathroom is OK. The bed is made and towels are replaced every day, except on Sundays. The location of this gem is the best: it's ~75m walking down to the walking path towards Playa del Duque (north) or Playa de los Tarajales (south). Or you walk ~250m upwards to C.C. San Eugenio. 'Everything' is within walking distance. There is a mini supermarket ~100m walking up from the entrance of the hotel. Perfect to get your beers, water bottles, sunblock >100ml, everything! Last, but CERTAINLY not least, I want to mention the friendliness and helpfulness of the hotel's personnel, which is exceptional. Only smiling faces!

The AC seems remotely controlled, which is fine. But it gives a beep when it switches on/off. It would be good if that beep could be or is disabled. Our room had a shower in the bathtub, which is OK. But a walk-in shower would have been nicer.

Breakfast was really good there was an excellent selection to choose from. The pool area is very pleasant and spotlessly clean. The staff are great and nothing is too much trouble.

Our room was in a part of the hotel that was not served by the lift and this made it very difficult for my disabled husband and also for me . The other main problem was we had to step into the bath to use the shower and there wasn’t a rail or anything to hold onto. . It was quite scary .
