Arrived early in the morning, friendly front desk staff. LUGGAGE - A special room, upper floor with individual lockers, we had two small suitcases and two backpacks which both fit in one locker. You also receive a security/hotel card which allows you to access the elevator to the storage area and the lounge/toilets. SAFETY - to access anywhere beyond the lobby you need the security card which is also scanned to enter the front doors/lobby at night. ROOMS - I traveled with another adult who had their own room, both were very different, yet each was large and exceptionally clean. MY ROOM - small entrance hallway with a bench and coat hooks; the main room had a large wardrobe, desk, and a bed with two side tables; the bathroom was smaller than some other hotels, but sufficient and clean. Located in the back of the building with a small balcony - I loved it as I sat outside and observed "everyday life" of the neighborhood. OTHER ROOM - the other adult in my party was on another floor and had the room some people negatively reviewed with a "see through bathroom." It had glass walls, but they were not transparent. Per those negative reviews - yes the shower room and toilet were separate, this is common in Europe. The room was large and also very clean. NOISE - this is an old city, you are staying in the middle of the excitement/city and yes the walls are thin - this is an old building! Bring earplugs if you need silence for sleep or turn on soft music for background noise. BREAKFAST - we both enjoyed the selection at breakfast. The choices were similar each day, but there is a vast amount of choices to make so we had a variety of food each day (we stayed 4 days). TIP - Mustafa's Kebap across the street is definitely worth the 25 minute wait in line!!! Two small stores on this street to purchase water or snacks. Speed Queen laundromat across the street, just down the block.
Nothing at the hotel that I did not like. The only difficult thing is the Gaudi Palace across the street can bring large crowds who linger outside the hotel doors and on the sidewalk for photos making it difficult to enter/exit - of course not at all the fault of the hotel.

The personnel at the desk were very helpful; they provided suggestions for some optional things to do and helped print some papers we needed. It was nice that the room was available when we arrived at noon. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was a good size. Housekeeping was very friendly and offered extra towels. We particularly liked the lounge on the second floor, and the fact that we could get ice and refill the water bottle they provided in each room. We felt protected because the room key was needed to access the elevator. The location was just a few steps from Las Ramblas, the main pedestrian street, and across the street from Palau Guell, a mansion designed by Gaudi. As a result, the Rooftop Terrace of the hotel provided great views of the decorated roof top chimneys on the roof of mansion. We could also view the entire city, including the near-by Gothic Quarter.
It would have been nice to have grab bars to help getting in and out of the tub, as it was very slippery.

Hotel was a pleasant surprise. Great location with many sites within walking distance including the beach. It was easy to get bus/ tube too. The staff were exceptional, spoke great English & helped us with recommendations, directions etc. We enjoyed an evening cocktail on the roof terrance with views across the city and my daughter had a dip in the pool (it's approx 1m x5m and no more than a metre deep but great for a cool down).
I didn't like having to worry about my wallet, phone etc when out and about on nearby streets/ tourist areas. The staff at the hotel warmed us to be vigilant and we managed to keep all our belongings. Thank you for the heads up!

Great location - perfect for exploring Barcelona. Just off Las Ramblas but quiet and away from the hustle and bustle once in the hotel. Easy access from the metro. Our room had a terrace which was perfect for sunbathing and an evening glass of wine! Tea/coffee facilities in room. Staff were really nice.
The hotel is a little tired in places and would benefit from updating. There was a good selection for breakfast but could have more variation.

Hotel staff was friendly and accomodating. Rooms were clean and a nice size. The rooftop terrace bar was a great place to take in views of Barcelona and Gaudi's Palau Guell . We did not have the breakfast so I cannot comment on that. Location was perfect just off of Las Ramblas. Walking distance to everything including the beach.

Gaudi’s influence is evident, and it’s fun. It’s an older property but updated selectively. Lovely wood trim and accents, hallways lit up. Two elevators. Coffee pot in room and adequate surface space. Big vanity (space!) and a bidet! The rooftop terrace is a little “exaggerated” but it’s still a place to get outside, up high, and view the city. The breakfast is incredible… everything is there. Location is good… steps to La Rambla and an easy walk to the Metro. Desk staff were helpful and understanding, especially when the power went out across the country! Desperately straits!
The shower was old-fashioned…a step-in bathtub and an awkward hose attachment. The hairdryer was old also, and the hose had a bad tear in it, but it was fixed quickly once reported.

Clean, pleasant and bright base room. The space turned out to be even a little more than in the photo, and a cute balcony, it was nice to stand there and watch the birds fly past you, in general, I liked everything! The presence of an air conditioner saved me in stuffiness and the common terrace with access to the roof is beautiful, the conference room has cool details and paintings, a lot of cool art books. I also want to note that despite the busy place, the room was quiet with the windows closed at night! Thank you for the place!
It would be nice if instead of mini soap bars without a soap dish there were dispensers with liquid soap, or at least ordinary soap dishes.

Convenient and comfortable hotel in the very heart of Barcelona's Ciutat Vella - walking distance from most spots you'd want to visit and easy access to transport links. Manned reception with friendly staff members, check-in was smooth and my room was available early. I was in one of the more outdated rooms of the hotel, but it was still comfortable and spacious, with a full bathroom incl tub. The roof terrace is a nice bonus for the views, with a tiny splashing strip of a 'pool'. The overall design feels quirky yet straightforward. The wi-fi also worked well.
During our stay one of the elevators broke which made moving up and down the building very slow. The chairs on the rooftop are also outdated and need some freshening up. Little insulation from the door meant you could hear everything going on in the hallways.

The hotel's location is excellent, within steps of the bustling La Rambla, and directly opposite Palau Guell (which I highly recommend visiting!). Because it is in a small side street, it was shielded from the noise, so it was a best-of-both-worlds kind of experience. The rooftop is magnificent, with a stunning view all around, even onto the rooftop of the Palau Guell! The rooftop has a wading pool as well, a nice surprise for sure. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. There was a safe in the closet, which you had to check the key out for at reception. The staff at reception was friendly and helpful. The beach is a 20 minute walk from the hotel in one direction, and major sights and shopping streets like Plaza de Catalunya and Passeig de Gracia are about 15 minutes in the other direction. You honestly couldn't have a better location than this if you don't mind walking. The metro system is also very good, and there is a station close by that takes you to all the important sights if you prefer that to walking.
A mini fridge in the room would have definitely been a plus! The bathroom, while clean, was a bit outdated, especially the shower head, but not a huge issue.

Location is absolutely great, 1 min from Rambla, 15 min walk from the beach, subway station 10 min away walk. Breakfast was delicious and extremely variate, we felt sorry we had an early flight at check out and could not enjoy the last one. Rooftop view right to the Palau Guell which was beautiful. Also very friendly staff, Alexandra was very helpful and with the traditional Spanish vibe which we liked big time! Would surely recommend this place!
Nothing to complain about. Maybe just a minor recommendation - would be nice to have a permanent bar on the rooftop, we often felt the need to sit there and enjoy a drink but the area was non smoking and the bar is only ensured on a request basis.
