The hotel is perfectly located, with fabulous views to Montjuic from the rooftop bar. Airport shuttle bus stops in front of the hotel, 12.50eur is the return ticket which you can buy on the bus and it takes 20min to get to the hotel from the airport. Rooms are spotlessly kept, daily change of towels, big bathroom with amazing shower. We had enough space for our luggage and clothes. The biggest tribute goes to the mattress and pillows! The best sleep ever!! Breakfast was very good, delicious with the sweetest staff! You can ask at the kitchen for fried eggs or Omelette.. Unfortunately, there's wasn't time for gym.. :) Hotel indoors was very well maintained. Our stay was wonderful, thanks to all the personnel! 🍀 We're coming back!

Location was great. Near metro , buses etc. Hotel was very clean, staff very friendly. Room and towels were tidied everyday. Hotel was quiet.

Bathroom door didn’t shut properly and no instructions on how to switch on overhead shower. The smaller shower worked perfectly. We were given the twin room as requested but we were left uncertain about the twin beds being available until we arrived… although I had emailed the hotel they could not guarantee this before we arrived. Guest should be made aware of the rumbling of metro beneath building. Not loud but on the 1st floor I was very aware of the noise.

The location of the hotel was amazing, with easy access to the bus station (d20) that can take you to Barceloneta. Also it’s close proximity to the mall at Plaza Espana. The breakfast was delicious, although the room was a bit small which is understandable for a 3-star hotel. I wish the receptionists were more communicative and expressive. Overall, it was a very good experience. I would recommend this hotel, especially if you have a concert at the Olympic Stadium as it is within walking distance. The hotel is also conveniently located near the metro station. The nearby restaurants were satisfactory with a variety of options. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel for its great location and amenities.

The room was comfortable and clean with an ample supply of hand-wash, hair and body gel and body lotion. Room was cleaned and bed made everyday and fresh towels too. Tea and coffee supply's topped up too when needed. Two fresh bottles of water were given to us aswell for the first 3-4 days. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially the girls at breakfast. There was an amazing selection of foods for breakfast that covered all tastes and fresh omelette was made for you if you wanted. There was fresh water, fruit and sweets that you could help yourself too in the reception area which was much needed when returning from a long hot day discovering Barcelona. The hotel was in an ideal location with bus and metro nearby. The main Barcelona train station was about a 10min walk away. We used the train a few times and cannot fault the service. Overall the hotel was clean and tidy . The air conditioning was brilliant and we both slept well as the room didn't get too hot. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Barcelona and Iam looking forward to staying in their other hotels too. Thank you Occidental Barcelona 1929 for a lovely, friendly stay.

The only thing I would say is there isn't much storage for your clothes in the room. There was enough hanging space but would have liked some shelves or drawers for underwear, t-shirts, shorts etc. We stayed for a week and did live out of the suitcase.

Very convenient place to stay. It is close to the first Aerobus stop Plaça Espanya coming from the airport to the city center and hence also close to the underground (I personally do not like the crowded subway station, since three lines L1, L3 and L8 are crossing there, so I preferred a short walking to the next L3 station Tarragona).

I travelled for work and hence I missed a little a proper desk at the hotel room, but at the end I could use the desks in the lobby, although they had quite high chairs (a bar-type desk and chair).

Pro: - Inexpensive (110€/night over Christmas in December for 2 people) - Good breakfast (included in the price) - disgusting coffee from the machine though and they charge extra for real coffee - Nice staff - Decent location with direct Airport Bus and metro connection - Nice view from the roof terrace

Con: - Like most hotels gyms, their gym is pretty useless (dumbbells only up to 10kg, some multi function machine that is useless for anyone even remotely serious about working out) - You can book "2 separate beds" which turns out to be only 2 separate mattresses in the same bed - Lower floors feel the vibration from the subway at night - Roof terrace is nice (though "pool" is only 30cm deep), but was closed when we visited - Room very small (but ok for the price)

We had a very lovely stay, everything was perfect from beginning to end. 💖 The bedroom was very comfortable and the shower was amazing! The rooftop is a plus as it is very nice to have the place to hang and the bar there. The pool is very shallow, you cannot swim in it but it can definitely help with the heat of Barcelona. Location is great, the airport bus took 25 minutes from the airport to the hotel (it leaves you at the corner maybe 2 minutes walking) and only 13 minutes on the way back from the hotel to the airport at 8pm. Barcelona is a huge city so you will always have to compromise with the location as you can be close to somewhere but 1 hour far from another tourist spot, but the metro station a few steps from the hotel made our lives much easier. I honestly really loved the place, the staff and the location. We always go to Barcelona and I have stayed in other hotels, and I’ll probably stay at Occidental from now on 💖

Extremely nice, modern hotel. Very convenient for Montjuic area and a concert at the Poble Espagnol. Loved the pool and rooftop bar. Breakfast very good indeed. Comfy beds, in nice and quiet rooms overlooking a pedestrianised side street. Floor 6 was quiet. Nice shower and good toiletries. Room staff very thorough and found a misplaced item of jewellery. A small chain of Spanish-owned hotels, I think. It is superlative for what it is: a modern hotel on the outskirts of the city. It was great to be able to walk back from the venue and it has multiple reasonably priced travel options for getting in and out of the city. Taxis can be hailed easily outside the hotel and in the main tourist spots and are reasonably priced.

The hotel is located at the very nice part of Barcelona. It is very well connected to all other parts with public transport, and walking was also possible because all the streets were very wide and pedestrian friendly. the staff was really nice and friendly. Additional bonus were gummy candies that were available every day at the reception.

The room is a bit on a smaller side, and there are no desks for laptop or any other seating ares beside the bed. And there was not a lot of room for suitcases.

This hotel is an absolute gem in Barcelona! The location is perfect, right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore all the attractions. The rooms are modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed, offering a fresh and comfortable stay. Breakfast was delicious, with a great variety to start the day off right. The highlight, however, is the breathtaking view from the rooftop, where you can relax by the pool and take in the stunning cityscape. Highly recommended for an unforgettable stay!
