Charming, traditional hotel! Old-fashioned in the best sense: bathrobe, slippers, laundry bag (so rare these days). Very spacious room and comfy beds. Bathroom quite homely but clean and with excellent water pressure. Wonderful location, only 5 minutes to Plaza Olavide. Courteous staff.

It was around 17-18ºC when we went, tried to turn on AC as room is a bit stuffy without. Unfortunately the AC would put out warm air after a while. Resorted to opening the full-length windows for ventilation, but obviously not optimal as you get traffic noise. Note also that you can definitely hear entire conversations or your neighbours' TV through the walls. Thankfully it is not a 'party' area so you can still sleep at night.

The staff were very accommodating and let us check in earlier than the official time, as they had availability — which we really appreciated. They also kindly provided a phone charger when we asked. Everyone was polite and friendly. The breakfast was excellent — tasty and varied — and the lady working in the cafeteria was especially pleasant. The atmosphere throughout the hotel was clean and comfortable. We stayed in a twin room with separate beds and even separate sinks in the bathroom, which was very convenient when traveling with a friend or colleague. We were very satisfied with our stay. Highly recommended!

We were delighted by the Hotel Agora Juan de Austria. Our room was spacious with both a desk and an armchair and without any sense of being cramped. A good window provided light and fresh air as required. This all sounds obvious and routine but somehow it all seemed better than we'd expected. The staff were helpful, attentive and friendly and the room was spotlessly maintained. The area around the hotel, this corner of Chamberí, is wonderful, with local bars, restaurants and cafés, and small supermarkets. We found it easy to walk to Gran Vía and back; the centre of Madrid is nearer than it seems. And it's pretty easy to walk to Real Madrid's stadium, too.

The reception team could not have been more friendly or obliging. In particular Maribel and Lautaro and Kingi in the cafeteria were simply amazing. My room was comfortable - air conditioning worked well and an easy walk to various metro stations nearby. There's a laundromat less that 2 minutes away wear I dried some clothes after a Madrid downpour!

I'd love real coffee making facilities in my room but there was a kettle so I could make tea. The refreshing of bathroom facilities was a tad random as if the staff were trying to save money! but once I said something, things came right. It would be great if the hotel could fit self-closing, non-slam doors as the noise of those late comers and early leavers woke me at times.

Honestly, everything was really nice, very spacious room. I loved the tiny balcony and being able to stare out onto the street. Lots of storage, huge wardrobes, lovely bed, beautiful bathroom, nice view, and the desk was very useful. The staff also let me check in early which is nice.

Maybe it's just me but I didn't realise if I took something from the fridge I had to pay for it. I took 2 X 330ml bottles of water and had to pay €6 which is a bit ridiculous. Usually if something is in the fridge, I don't get charged extra. Plus I did leave a big bottle of unopened water in there, which I'm not saying is a replacement but I found it a bit annoying to have to pay this much and not having been told. I don't mind paying but that price was a bit much for such small bottles of water.

Location of the hotel is in quiet residential zone, but sill really close to Madrid center even by walk. Breakfast is good, some would say monotonous, because it is mostly the same every day, but not for us since we could pick from variety of hams, cereals, jams, yoghurts, juices including freshly squeezed orange juice etc. Air conditioner works perfectly, as well as WI-FI, at least in our room. There are good cafes and restaurants around, like Arya.

Hotel cafe doesn't work after breakfast so if someone wants to go for a quick coffee they have to leave the hotel. Except receptionist, staff doesn't speak good English, although we learned that is almost everywhere in Madrid. Furniture is bit old, need renovation, although bed was very comfy.

Very much enjoyed my stay. Have just written about it on Facebook. The room was excellent. It was clean and had a nice view from the balcony. I loved the breakfast in the morning. Staff could speak English and that was a major help. The location was great--not far from the centre. There were some nice restaurants and cafes in the Plaza de Olavide round the corner. Bilbao metro stop is only a coupe of minutes away. The quality of your staff is a major bonus. The free taxi ride from the airport also made things much easier.

Everything was fine There was some confusion about booking a taxi back to the airport. I asked for a taxi at six in the evening. It was sent at six in the morning! It got sorted out by the hotel. Good to be clear about when a taxi is needed.

If you want a local feel, out of the busy tourist area, the location of this hotel is in a wonderful neighborhood with small, tree-lined squares, local restraurants and shoppes providing bakery, fresh fruit/veggies, artisan items and curated clothing, jamon, and more. There are several Metro stops within easy walking distance to provide you with transport anywhere in Madrid. I loved the spacious bathroom with a deep soaking tub and shower combo. There is a small fridge and a kettle for self-catering breakfasts.

The furniture and carpeting need replacing! Paper cups, instead of glassware, cheapen the experience. A dust ruffle on the beds would be nice. Bring foot covering.

Excellent location, just a short walk from a metro station and close to the city center. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, always ready to offer advice and assistance when needed.

The room insulation was very poor, making it easy to hear sounds from neighbouring rooms, such as conversations and television. The hotel is starting to show signs of wear and could benefit from renovation in the future.

Very spacious room for three persons, the mere amount space made our stay very comfortable. Also spacious bathroom with two sinks. Super friendly service. Great location in a quiet street yet close by more lively streets. So we walked almost everywhere.

The room would have benefitted a tiny renovation work (the wall lamps were almost falling for example, yet nothing major). A bit old fashioned stylewise but otherwise great.
