Perfect central location opposite the train station, we paid for breakfast as an extra for 16 euro and though expensive the breakfast was FANTASTIC. I heartily ate my breakfast and loved it. Great quality. The room was immaculately clean and was cleaned daily. The staff were very friendly and efficient, especially as we had problems with our electronic key. There was a bar/restaurant next door which was perfect for a beer stop(with olives) before retiring for bed. The air con was a gos send and I now love siestas/naps when it is too hot. Madrid park is nearby and that is a city treasure.
Our view from the room was a fire staircase

I loved the way we were treated at the hotel, as well as the cleanliness and excellent hospitality within the property. It also has excellent location and very good breakfast options. Staff at the reception and the restaurant were absolutely fantastic, and the cleaning team very friendly and professional. We definitely would come back and we recommend it to others.
The shower was a little bit low of water, and the toilet did a little bit of sound nighttime. The ventilation system, also, was out of our control, we could not regulate it as we wished to. But they are technical problems that the reception took a note about

Very near Atocha train station in Madrid, actually it was literally across the road from it. Room was spotless, check in staff friendly. Room comfortable, mattress was hard, but overall I slept well. Very quiet room, far away from the elevator. Complimentary bottle water and chocolate on the pillow appreciated.
There was no Iron/ ironing board in the room, something you would definately expect in a hotel room in this day and age. Also, not enough towels, one bath towel and one hand towel. Not enough to dry you off, had to use hand towel to dry my hair. An extra towel would have been much appreciated. A wash cloth would also have been handy as there was nothing to wash with in the shower. The pump action toiletries in the shower were very irritating, as the amount coming out was very small. I had to pump about 10 times to get enough shampoo / bodywash and 20 times to get conditioner.

We picked the hotel for it's location to the railway station and to be precise it could only have been closer if it was within the station itself! Lots of eateries and bars close by and the room was as we were told before booking. Staff were very helpful even allowing me to call home to Australia at no charge due to a potential credit card failure!
Our room cards continually failed with us having to have them re-digitised 5 or 6 times so probably a fault in the door reader that I'm sure they will have fixed. Annoying only as their small but adequate lift often took a while to arrive!

Great, efficiently run, no-fuss hotel, but still with enough of a personal touch. I really like the NH hotel chain. Consistently high quality, spacious rooms (I had a superior), well kitted out (kettle, fridge, bottled water, Nespresso machine with coffee pods, tea bags, milk, etc), bathtub as well as big rain shower in bathroom, very comfy bed and pillows, temperature perfect, windows that opened to let in fresh air. Staff efficient and friendly. Nice area, very handy for Atocha, Retiro. Will happily store your luggage if you arrive early or want to go off and do something on the checkout day.
Nothing to do with the hotel, but the NH online chat facility was not accurate in the information given prior to my trip. Staff at the hotel put them right though, via email, and gave me the answers I needed.

The staff were kind. The breakfast was very good.
The smoke alarm above the bed flashed 2 red lights all the time every 5 seconds. This made sleeping very difficult. When I checked with staff in the morning they reported that it was a safety regulation and required in all hotels. However, 2 weeks ago we stayed in Madrid Charmatin and this was not the case nor has it been in any hotel we have stayed in in other Spanish cities. Also the floor in the small bathroom and the show was very slippery when wet.

We took a night flight and arrived in Madrid early in the morning. Took the train from the airport direct to Atocha Station in about 30 minutes then walked across the street and arrived at the hotel in less than 5 minutes. The staff at the reception was very helpful and let us check in the room early so that we can rest for some time before starting to explore the city. Room is small but comfortable and had almost everything we need including slippers, coffee machine, electric kettle.
Breakfast is quite expensive but selection of food, particularly hot items, is not much.

The location was excellent. Right next to Atocha train station. They had a tub! The room was small but it had everything you need! The staff was kind enough to keep our stroller in their holding/storing luggage area so we didn’t have to deal with bringing our stroller up and down.
We booked three nights and four days. We were there two days and one night due to travel delays. Our room only had one bottle of water for each for three entire stay. And when we arrived we were instructed that we’d need to pay for our kids breakfast - which was fine - but also silly because we’d already paid and missed two days and two nights of breakfast for us adults which were included as extras paid for our in the reservation. It’s seemed silly given it could of been a small gesture of courtesy since we’d already paid for two days and two nights of the room and breakfasts missed due to traveling delays and hadn’t tried to get out of paying any of that. They did have apples in the afternoon which one of my toddlers (1 yr) definitely enjoyed.

The room was quite small but I was only staying one night so it was fine but I wouldn't like it if I were staying for a week as it would be too cramped. However, it was clean and the bed - a single bed - was very comfortable.
The breakfast did not offer any hot foods and was very limited in its choices so that was disappointing. What was on offer was adequate but there were no vegetables and not much, if any, fruit.

The room was quite clean with a nice modern bath (shower). Beds had lovely sheets, good pillows and were quite comfortable. Fridge in the room was helpful, and the bath had lots of nice amenities like robes and slippers, toiletries, even a disposable hairbrush!! Lots of hot water and good water pressure. Not a luxury hotel, but we had all the essentials, plus a good location, convenient to Retiro Park, the Prado museum and the Atocha train station.
Even our "deluxe" room was quite small. Seemed expensive for what we were getting. The website is opaque about the differences in the room categories, and the pictures are completely unhelpful. There was kind of a funky "motel" smell to our room, if you know what I mean, but it got better after we left the window open.. There are 2 balcony rooms per floor (7 floors).I don't know how you get one of those. Our room had a window to the back alley and fire escape steps. There are zero public areas. Just a front desk with no seating. No amenities. The breakfast area looks like cafeteria seating, but we didn't eat there, so we can't comment on the food. Our room was somewhat dark, even with all the lights turned on. Towels were not high quality, but were adequate.
