It is one of the best hotels I have stayed in Colombo. If I return to the city, I will definitely come back to this hotel. The staff is excellent. I had a problem with the heater, but they solved it quickly. There was an electric kettle, a fridge, AC, and hot water - it's all I needed for a pleasant stay. There weren't any mosquitoes or flies. And the room was extremely clean. The furniture was in good condition and it was comfortable to sleep.

Before sleeping, I realized that there wasnt any lamps above the bed (you can't understand it before trying turn them on). The extractor hood (or just the fan) in the bathroom didn't work. The sheets were torn a little. Somewhere in the room (perhaps outside), small ants were living. They can't harm you, but some of them were hovering around any food you left, and others were on my suitcase.

The staff are the highlight of this hotel. They will bend over backwards for you and do the best they can to provide you with the best service. There is an aircon and fan in the room, kettle and coffee tea and sugar plus a small refrigerator. Last reviews said the neighboured was sketchy, but it’s really not. It’s a typical Sri Lanka street. The vendors and people in the area are nice, try to make an effort to smile and talk to them, they are lovely.

They are still building the hotel up to its full potential so it does feel like a construction site. The location is not bad but it’s also not close enough to the main Colombo sites to walk in the heat. But a 3wheel should cost about 400/500 rupees to get the fort area. And their is a mosque and kovil nearby if you would like to visit. Despite all this, it is good value for money and I would stay here again, mainly because of the service :)

We liked the stay in this hotel very much. The room was very good equipped (water, fridge, tea, coffe, soap..). Everything was clean, we had a room without a window but the air was fresh there so it was ok for us. We liked the lounge light option very much in the room. There is also a lift in the hotel. I would like to especially thank to Supun for telling us about the interesting places and good restaurants around. He was very professional and also very helpful when we planned the transport from Colombo to the airport. The hotel is located nearby the city center but as a woman I would not like to walk the street down alone. With a man it was ok.

The walls were very dirty and would need new painting. But it did not really have a negative influence on our well-being. The pillows were a bit thin for us and in the night I could heare some loud sounds (slamming doors?) more times which woke me up. But otherwise we slept there very good and it is generally a quiet place.

Located in a more traditional part of the old city, the hotel might be hard to find but, once there, it is a good, central location for Colombo and about 1.5km from Fort Raiway Station (the main Colombo station). The room was very large with a bed that would comfortably fit three average sized adults! Clean and comfortable, the place is hard to fault, especially given the helpful staff.

The hot water switch needs to be explained to each new guest since, although very simple and effective, it is not obvious to use.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The room is comfortable enough to stay and relax.

It's convenient location can walk to most transport hubs.

Location can feel overwhelming and not many "decent" by that I mean western cafe style places to eat. More hole in the wall, and street food. Which I'd not bad. Area is a lot of hustle bustle but ends quietens midnight and therer is a mosque... inevitable early prayer calls ( also quite badly sung) 0

The staff was very friendly. We had a problem with the toilet leaking, but they quickly fixed it. We got a deluxe double room with a balcony. The room was huge with a big balcony and a great view of the city, which was amazing! The bed was comfortable. There was also water and coffee available. 20 minutes walk to Pettah Market

-There were so many ants in the room. We left biscuits on the table, and ants were everywhere. -We found a cockroach on the balcony.

The service was the best I've ever had a hotel, and I've stayed in some top standard hotels. The hotelier Ishaq gave amazing suggestions on places to eat and grab the best masala chai, making us aware of the nearby Aluthkade street food which was just superb. He hooked us up with friends who ran autorickshaws to take us around at a local price. And a big hearted send off.

The lift stops between floors, so you'll need some stairs to get to your room either direction.

Great staff, very informative and friendly. Nice view from the room with a small balcony. Ok location but for the cost of the hotel per night, might have expected a little more. The staff's helpfulness really boosted this rating.

No toilet paper in the bathrooms. Awoken everyday at sunrise by call to pray (speakers on the outside of the building ), all understandable as it's a religious practice but something to be aware of :)
