The hotel is pretty nice with huge and comfy rooms and a good restaurant. The cleanliness of the room was perfect and even if we were in the center of Colombo, the sound of the traffic was not even audible. Outside the rooms, there is a swimming pool with four sunbeds that can be used to relax apart from the chaos of the city.

The staff told us that we couldn't have a late check-out at the end of our visit only after the first night. The Hotel had a private event, and we were informed that we had to leave the structure at 11 am. This lack of clarification caused us to book another room in another Hotel in order to have a place to stay until our flight which was at 2 am. Since we were traveling with our 2-year-old daughter they could have informed us right away during the check-in allowing us to change the structure at that moment instead of waiting the next day to clarify the situation. Swimming pool is very basic. Only two spots for the guests and not in a cleaning condition that is in line with the level of the hotel.

A wonderful colonial property with an exceptional quality of service in a terrific location. The room was very comfortable and kept spotless. The staff were attentive and friendly and we were greeted with smiles and excellent service at every contact. Particular mention to Christophe who was a wonderful host and really liked Lord after our needs, nothing was too much trouble and we really enjoyed his company and good humour. We’re looking forward to our next visit to ‘The Residence’ in the near future!

This really is a great hotel run by very helpful staff. We received a lovely iced tea welcome drink upon arrival at the hotel. The room we had was huge with a sleeping and sitting area, both with high ceilings. The bathroom was also large with a huge shower area. Swimming pool, which was located in the court yard, looked great but unfortunately we didn’t have a chance to use it. Breakfast was A La Carte and very tasty and plentiful. We had dinner in the restaurant on 2 occasions and the food was very nice and reasonably priced. I would definitely stay there again and recommend this hotel it to anyone who enjoys a touch of luxury!

Nothing - everything was great

The staff couldn't be more helpful, they were were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. They really made the stay better. Special thanks to Chris. The rooms are large and great bathrooms. The air-conditioning worked well. The bed was extremely comfortable. The location is excellent, quiet haven, a walk to the main sites. Park Street Mews next door giving great choice of restaurants.

Despite the attentive staff, it did feel like the hotel was 'running down'. The entrance hall/lounge, bar and restaurant all good but the rooms and particularly pool, and pool area, in need of significant refurbishment to be the quality it is marketed as.

The breakfast was generally good with a decent variety of options. Everything was fresh and nicely presented. It’s a nice way to start the day, even though it’s quite simple. Overall, I was satisfied. The location is absolutely beautiful very calm, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind. I really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and scenic surroundings. A lovely spot for anyone looking to escape the busy city life.

Overall, the place was tidy, but the carpet could have been vacuumed more thoroughly. I felt some sand on the carpet, and since my kids were playing on the floor, it was a bit concerning. A more detailed vacuuming would really improve the comfort, especially for families with small children.

Absolutely everything! The location is right in the heart of colombo city centre, it's room was stunning (British colonial horse stable converted), the service of their staff was impeccably helpful and so kind and it isn't overcrowded. Free WiFi, 4 types of teas, coffee machines, bottled water on tap, mini fridge, very large shower room, outdoor smoking area, large king bed... My mouth wouldn't shut when I realised we hadn't walked in a waiting area... it was the living area with a tv! The room was huge for 2 people. I mean, the list goes on! AND the welcome ice tea drinks, a very sweet touch. We had 2 out of 3 days dipping in the pool, just me and my partner, no one else. It really was picked straight out of a fairy tale. We didn't try their food. However, it sounded fantastic. The fairy lights around the trees of a night were very romantic while dipping our legs in the pool, chatting about our days adventures in the capital. The amenities were fantastic, and we were asked for points they could improve upon. I have no constructive criticism for being treated like a celebrity. To ALL of the staff at Uga residence (Residence on Park Street) thank you from the bottom of our hearts to make our holiday truly unforgettable and although it was a short stay, we will miss you all. Keep up the fantastic work!

This was one of the most amazing places I have ever stayed. The suites were enormous and absolutely stunning. The staff were very welcoming and friendly..especially Dilini and could not do enough for me. Breakfast was beautifully presented with many interesting and creative options to try (which I did) and all were delicious. Location is excellent and very quiet which was impressive given it is so centrally located, but that I suspect is because the buildings are set a good distance back from the road and the entrance is gated. Honestly do yourself a favour and book this place, you won’t be disappointed.

I loved everything about it.

Uga Residence was the perfect tranquil retreat to recover from our flight from the UK. We were super excited to stay at this gorgeous colonial property and it did not disappoint! The staff were extremely and courteous and attentive. Dinesh and the Reception Manager went above and beyond to ensure our every need was catered for. We have to mention the restaurant. The food was simply delicious, the Sri Lankan omelette is the best I have tasted and the service amazing. A big thank you to the extended team too for making our stay in Colombo such a memorable one. 🙏🏽

We liked everything

Everything was excellent, Uga residence was a beautiful quiet oasis in the heart of a bustling city. I never expected it to be so peaceful. The room was fantastic, large, very well equipped and very clean. I wanted for nothing during my stay. The staff were very well trained, looked after my needs, yet at the same time they allowed me my personal space. From the Managers to the housekeeping staff, from security to the bar/restaraunt staff, it was clear to see the each and every staff member cared about the Hotel and it guests. I would recommend to anyone to stay a few nights and experience 1st class accomadation at its best. I would also recommend that other hotel managers visit to learn how a hotel should be managed.

The rooms were extremely spacious, airy and well thought out. The architecture of the property is elegant. The breakfast is superb. They have one of the highest rated restaurants in Colombo. IF that's not enough, next door are a bunch of great eateries and the the hotel is bang in the centre of city centre. You will love it in Uga Residence,

I wish there were plug points next to bed to charge the phone. The property gates close at night and we need to ring the bell to open the gate. This could be informed during check in (in our case this was left out).
