A peaceful place with a great view over the bay to Stockholm, Fotografiska, and some other islands. The hotel is a mix of diaconia for elderly and traumatized as well for tourists. The hotel rooms are nice. The breakfast is great, you can sit outside and have many dishes to choose from. The hotel has a good connection via buses to the city center or by a 20/25 min foot walk. There are a few good restaurants or supermarkets nearby.

Many stairs and partial old or hospital feeling. The rooms have no cupboards or place to store luggage, even though the room for 3 people is large, you had to live out of your luggage. There are no fridges (but is clear from the booking info) and no air con. Usually aircon is not needed, but in summer the room gets quite warm and you can open the windows but cannot turn on the lights except if you want to get bitten by mosquitoes (we were in the dark at night and had nearly no bites).

This hotel was awesome! Location was walking distance to just about everything....Gamla Stan, the waterfront, Soldermam...all the touristy areas anyway. Or public transport (ie. ferry) that could get you to your area. But it wasn't right in the middle of all that, so it was very very quiet! The breakfast, included with the price, was amazing....eggs, meats, cheeses, pastries, fruit, coffee, juice...everything. I would describe it overall as like a college dorm (at least where I went in the '80's). Our room had 2 single beds, a small desk and two good size closets. It was very basic, and although small, the ceilings were 20 ft. tall so it did not feel small. There were 3 water closets (one room bathroom with toilet, sink and shower) on our floor, to be shared with maybe 5 or 6 rooms. We NEVER had an issue having to wait to use one, they were EXTREMELY clean, and were always stocked with toilet paper and soap. They also provided towels in the room for you, but if you wanted new ones you had to ask for them. We also had a great view of the waterfront from our room, and the window opened so we could get fresh air! There was also a small common area on the floor, with a small kitchen and a refrigerator and coffee maker. There was also a very large outdoor patio off our floor, with nice seating if you wanted to just chill for a bit with a beautiful view. And, there was also a common area by the main entrance, with a tv (also a small one in the room) and maybe coffee? We never used it though. If you are looking for something simple, to basically sleep and clean up every day...and have a great breakfast to start the day..., this is a great place for the money. However, if you are a family or want luxury, keep looking. I personally think this place would be great for single travellers (esp. women) or even couples, if you don't mind having your own single bed!

Nothing not to like

The location is quite good, and Room 511 was very spacious and clean, with a nice view. I appreciated the kettle with coffee/tea and even lactose-free creamer. Having both a bathtub and a shower in the same room is a real rarity! Breakfasts were tasty.

It can be a bit noisy at night because of the road below. At breakfast, when we came at 9:00, the guacamole was already gone and not replenished — it would be nice if the staff paid more attention to this. The Wi-Fi connection was terrible, and although the room had a smart TV, the service was not activated, so we could only watch a few Swedish channels.

Room was perfect with a nice size bedroom and small ante room. Bathroom had an excellent shower in it. The hotel provided a fan which definitely helped as it was very humid while we were there. There is on site parking (you pay for this) which is also very helpful. Hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was very good, provided as a very normal Scandinavian/European buffet style with a mix of breads, cheese cold meat, fruit and some hot food. With some more Swedish twists. Location was good with excellent views over the harbour and good public transport links with busses outside and water taxi access a 10 minute walk away.

It would have been useful to maybe have a desk and chair in the room or a table to put things on if staying for more than one night.

The hotel is a really good place. It's a little bit up the hill, so you have to walk a bit to get to Gamla Stan (sometimes we walked, sometimes we took a bolt- or voi-bike). We came by ship from Helsinki and we could walk from the ferry port. And when we went on, we took the bus around the corner to the station. It's a nice hotel with a very good breakfast. The rooms are a little bit old fashioned (we had a standard-room, the superiors are very modern), but they are clean, the beds are comfortable and the view is just great. From the terrace in front of the hotel you see the city, Djurgarden, the ships,... The people there are very nice. We arrived before check-in-time but we could leave our luggage there without any problems. Södermalm is a nice area with lots of restaurants.

Ideally located near the Viking ferry terminal if you need to depart on an early morning ferry - it is only a short stroll downhill to the terminal. Slightly longer walk to the Slussen metro station. Excellent breakfast and friendly, efficient staff. Very clean. It is a bit different (in a good way) to the usual hotel experience. There was a small kitchenette near our room labelled “Pentry” with electric kettle, toaster and microwave plus plenty of cutlery. There is a supermarket nearby if you want to self cater. Friendly staff. Efficient.

Nothing really once we got used to the door process. We arrived out of reception hours and had received clear instructions how to enter the building and access our room keys. We didn’t get to see the small museum associated with the property as we were always out until after it had closed. So I guess this means we will have to book there another time to see it.

The breakfast was good, I especially appreciated clear gluten free options (which I need).

More variety in the hot dishes would have been nice (maybe grilled vegetables.) In terms of the room, the kettle was attached to a plastic tray with a very short cord. I had to drag the table and move furniture to get the cord to an outlet to boil water. Also, the room sometimes felt cold in the morning and might need some better heatring or insulation.

We were arriving from Canada. We are seniors so wanted accommodations close to the ship as we came from Finland with our grandchildren (who are Finnish). It was an easy walk and so beautiful and historic. The lovely woman who met us at the desk was MORE than accommodating. Really above and beyond. The rooms were big/clean/bright. After traveling for such a long time it was so wonderful to fall into a comfortable bed with crisp clean sheets. Also impressive was the breakfast that was included. We have told everyone this is a place you will want to stay when visiting Stockholm. Thank you for the exceptional experience.

Excellent buffet style breakfast. Sparkling clean room. Little kitchenette on the floor with a fridge, coffee machine, microwave and kettle. Quiet location, close to a popular view point with a terrace . Area not very touristy otherwise, but rather residential. Hotel is located in the building of an old hospital with a small museum on site.

Wifi signal in my room fairly bad. Construction site on the floor of my room. It wasn't possible to fully open the window. Constant noise of the bathroom fan.

15 minutes walk to viking terminal and the break fast is excellent. I have booked one double room with bathroom and one double room with shared bathroom. Upon check-in I asked if there is one more double room with private bathroom and how much more to pay. the staff checked and generously offered a free upgrade for us, though the room maybe a bit noisy sometimes as there was road maintenance work nearby. it turned out ok and not much disturbance. Also you can get water and tea begs from the share kitchennett which is very convenient.

the chair inside thecroom suddenly collapsed, fortunately my sister was not hurt. The hotel arranged to replace a new chair shortly.
