Checkin was done early and there was no problem. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Parking was available right in front of the hotel with CHF 12 payment. Room had a very beautiful view from the balcony. Food was good at the restaurant. Walkable distance from the hotel to Staubach Waterfall.

Breakfast had very limited options and no warm meals. Could have been better. Heating in the room could not be adjusted, so we had to open the windows at night as it became very hot and suffocating.

The staff was friendly and helpful. There was no elevator and the desk help carried my suitcase up the stairs.

I loved the location, very central and easy to arrive from the train with a big checked luggage. I got there early before check in, so I had to leave luggage. You have to leave luggage in the main lobby not behind a counter which I was a bit nervous about but it ended up being fine. I had a room on the top floor with a balcony so I enjoyed looking out over the street and opposing valley. Couldn't see the falls from my room but as soon as I stepped outside it was right there. There was a water fountain between the hotel and the bike shop where I kept my water bottle filled. The staff was very busy and multitasking, but still friendly and attentive. I enjoyed the stay!

Super location in the centre of town and a few minutes walk from the station, nevertheless it was quiet. Excellent breakfast at quite flexible timings. I ate in the restaurant a couple of evenings and that was very good too. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I had a single room, but it was a good size and the bathroom was well laid out. The bed was especially comfortable with a good selection of pillows and covers. Good wardrobe, desk, wifi etc.

The lack of a lift might be a problem for some, but it didn't bother me. 3 flights of stairs are much easier than the hikes I was doing.

We only booked a few days before but were lucky enough to get a room with a balcony overlooking the mountains and waterfalls right on the corner of the hotel. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Couldn’t fault them. Nice bar and Restaurant was cosy and food substantial Although only a 2* had clean flannels each day Parking immediately opposite hotel for 15F a day well worth it to save hassle

Only issue was bathroom was pretty small but everything functioned ok. Also not a problem for us but for those with mobility problems there was no lift.

Location and the hotel restaurant (for lunch and dinners) are perfect. The rooms are very clean and spacious.

Breakfast is so so and the finished items are not quickly refilled. You can wait for the boiled eggs for 10-15 minutes. The coffee machine is not working properly and nobody is taking action about it. It is nice that they are keeping your luggage for you until the check-in time, but there is not a locked room for the luggage or they don't put tags on the luggage (nothing bad happened but you feel a bit worried as you leave your luggage at the lobby).

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location was perfect, providing easy access to nearby attractions. The hotel itself was clean, well-maintained, and very tidy. My room had an amazing view, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The staff, especially Sandra, were incredibly helpful and made sure I had everything I needed. I truly appreciate the hospitality. The breakfast was also a highlight, offering a great variety of delicious options. Another great perk was the free parking, which made my stay even more convenient. I’m grateful to the hotel for providing such a pleasant stay and I look forward to returning!

The staff at Hotel Oberland was exceptional. All the women keeping the breakfast area clean and running as well as managing the front desk were exceptional. The cleaning staff were also very friendly and did a good job. I enjoyed the breakfast and my view to the waterfall. The shower had excellent water pressure and lots of hot water. The location is excellent.

The carpet in my room was quite worn with many stains. No mini fridge, microwave or electric kettle.

The coffee machine was difficult to figure out how to use. Also, there was no explanation of how the various coffee pods differed from each other. I was lucky enough to get help the first day, but had to do without the next day since we had a train to catch and the line was backed up because of others also trying to figure it out. Perhaps there could be a QR code to scan with your phone that would link to a video demonstration of how to use it.

The room was comfortable and clean, and well-located, an easy walk to the train station. The restaurant is also really good. I suggest you make a reservation.

The reception only gave us one key, though we asked for another. This was really inconvenient, for our party of three, because we were in the annex, and you needed a key to get into the building. Since we weren’t always together, and not all of us had phones, we just had to yell really loud for the person upstairs to let us in.
