Facilities are certainly less than a bigger pricier hotel, but it was fair value and we had loved it overall. It's a historical building, with alot of character, very well maintained and spotless. First point tho, no elevator and so it was a climb up to our room. We didn't find too onerous but some might. Help with bags could be a plus. The double rooms come with an included bathroom. It's a tiny bathroom, a miracle in design! But the shower was hot and all worked. Again spotlessly clean. We thought it was kind of fun. There is a lovely view from the window out across to the church and the mountains and valley in the distance. It's a short walk to the station for down to Lauterbrunnen and up to Kleine Scheidogg and the (overpriced) Jungfraujoch resort Dinner in the resto is a good selection of local food favorites (rosti, fondue, etc), and is pretty popular. The breakfast is good value, a nice selection including eggs and the usual continental. Fresh baked pastries and breads by the hosts daily The hosts are personable and helpful. Overall: it was a great experience to stay in Wengen, and Hotel Bernerhof was a part of that. It's a tiny town right in the heart of the mountains. A very different experience vs Interlaken for example (just a busy tourist town intersecting the Golden Pass and other routes). Even compared to Lauterbrunnen at the bottoom of the valley you are really in a different world up in the mountain towns like Wengen and Murren. Highly recommended including this hotel

Nothing really except minor as noted above

The view from my window was amazing. I loved spending time sitting in front of my window every evening. The staff was helpful and especially Viktoria helped me a lot by giving helpful recommendations on spots to see in Wengen and where to eat. The room had a very cosy feeling and made me feel at home. Breakfast had everything I needed and was available at an excellent price compared to the costs of breakfast outdoors.

Since the building is mostly made from wood, it was pretty noisy when neighbours walked around, especially when staff was cleaning rooms, as the closet with bedsheets was on the other side from where I laid my head in bed. My afternoon nap was therefore not possible.

Location is great, good view, very good breakfast with home made bread, variety of cheeses, eggs and yogurt.

Church next to the hotel, you hear the bell every 30 mins even during the night. Hotel is historic, somewhat outdated. Not sure what is the deal with check in. They tell you that check in is between 2pm and 6pm and you have to make an arrangement for after 6pm. With the arrangement check in is free before 8pm. It is 50 CHF after that. They have a restaurant at the property which is open until 10 pm, there is stuff around that can check people in. So not sure why they have to make guests nervous if they arrive late.

Excellent location on the High Street. Very old hotel but then they don’t hide this when booking. Shared bathrooms and toilets are clean and whilst we had a room next to the shower, we did not hear any noise. There is no lift but that is also noted in their information. I think it would be good if they included breakfast in the room rate.

Shared bathroom and lack of storage for Skis and boots. There appears to be a lot of room for the Skis and boot warmer but during UK half term there was definitely not enough space and not everybody could put their boots on the boot warmer.

The location of this hotel is IDEAL in Wengen! It is located on the main street and is steps away from many restaurants, the cable car to Mannlichen, lots of kids' activities, shopping, and the Coop. The staff is very helpful and friendly. There is even a secret back balcony for snacks and drinks in the afternoon. We had a view of the Jungfrau from our window and the beds were very comfortable.

The only issue we had was that we were not given a Guest Card on arrival, which would have saved us a lot of money on the trains/cable cars/activities. We only found out about it when we went to the mini-golf course.

The village itself is incredibly peaceful — exactly the kind of calm I was looking for. Being close to Lauterbrunnen made it even better, as I could easily explore the stunning valley and return to the quiet charm of Wengen. The hotel was great overall — clean, cozy, and welcoming. I especially appreciated the restaurant downstairs; the food was delicious and the atmosphere was warm. While dining options around Wengen are quite limited, it didn’t bother me much — the tranquility of the area more than made up for it.

I liked the little corner one-person room, which made a weekend getaway to Wengen affordable. Two walls were surrounded by windows and the balcony with a view of Monch was inviting. The location is hard to beat, right in the center of town a short walk from the station. The little bathroom is perfectly adequate.

It would have been nice to have a hot option (scrambled eggs, sausages...) beyond the boiled egg at breakfast. A few minor updates, such as a new shower head and hair drier, might be nice, but it is quite fine already.

Great location! Less than 5 minutes walk from the station. We were able to check-in a bit later (just before 20:00), which was great so we could enjoy our day at Grindelwald First more. Just make sure you let them know if you can't make it before 18:00 so you won't have any problems. Check-in was very easy with friendly staff (Scottish man I believe). We also had a very nice view from our room of a church and the mountains. There is no elevator, but this is written on their page so please don't arrive there and start complaining that you have to climb stairs.

The bathroom (especially shower) was quite small, which could be a bit hard if you're a big person, but it was alright for us.

Hotel is within minutes from the train station. Don't have to walk uphill like some of the other hotels we saw when exploring the town. Room was pretty clean and the view was superb. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. The dinner at their restaurant was really delicious and comes in generous portion. Highly recommend their rosti.

Only downside was that we had to borrow the kettle with deposit, return had to be done during the operating hours. And also, if you have big and heavy luggage, would be good to get a lower floor room. If you are someone not fit, at this altitude, carrying your luggage up the stairs can tire you easily.

We booked breakfast in advance on email and received confirmation for the same. After checkin we were told tomorrow breakfast will be ready by 7-7:30am. Next Day we waited till 8:30 but nobody turned up at desk and restaurant too was close. Ultimately we had to leave without breakfast
