The view from our north facing room was fantastic looking right at Jungfrau, waterfalls and glaciers. We had a superior room and it was quite large with a sitting table, couch and very large bath tub. The balcony on the first floor is shared between all rooms so extends the length of the hotel making it quite comfortable. Dinners were very good. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The ground floor of the hotel has many sitting areas inside and outside where we met many friendly travelers and shared some drinks. It feels like the family run business it is. The whole place is decorated with hand sewn rugs, original furniture, wallcoverings, etc. It feels so authentically homey. I would love to stay at Hotel Falken again.

There was a pretty good selection at breakfast, but trays were often empty. Most mornings, I would get a few items and wait for more stuff to come out from the kitchen for a second trip. It seems they just couldn't keep up with diners' appetites.

The Family room was 2 connecting rooms (with one bath) and was awesome for our family of 4. Bigger than we expected, had a balcony and table for 4, and 2 twin beds plus sinks in each room section. Hotel was beautiful, good location in the town (but note uphill 5min walk from train/main street), lovely front patio/garden for relaxing. Really a special place. Breakfast (free, included) was yummy (buffet eggs, bacon, cereal, yogurt, muesli, bread, meats/cheeses, tea. Ask servers for coffee), there's a backyard walking path down to main street. Just a beautiful historic place

As foreign tourists, we would have liked more direction from front desk staff on how meals worked (realized halfway through our stay there were specific tables for each room in the dining room), how to order drinks/ice cream on the patio, how to obtain a Wengen Guest card. But - I know staff would have helped if we asked about anything, we just tend to not ask many questions!

the design of my room, the view, the breakfast, the receptionist and the old yet well maintained building. Owh i almost forgot their furry white baby 😍

the wifi name that they gave me is actually not the updated one and so with the password. but it didn’t bother me since I have my own data.

The mountain view with balcony is very unique, it’s so so beautiful. Breakfast was okay and staffs were nice except to the old lady at the reception was rude. On the first day, she gave us 2 seperate rooms instead of the family room that I had booked and that’s because of some licking she mentioned but she fixed the issue on the next day and she gave us the correct family room.

I appreciated the attentive and friendly staff, the unexpected welcome drink, the morning’s freshly baked breads, eggs, and coffee, the room’s view of the village - getting to sleep with the windows open and fresh air in the room, and the abundance of additional toilettes, seating areas throughout the hotel and its restaurant, and picnic spaces under the covered patio, We also enjoyed the unique furniture, artwork, and family-focused business from 4+ generations of collectors.

My husband is 6’5”, and we asked for a bed without a footboard or sloped roof; unfortunately, we were put in a room with a bed with footboard and a dormer windows. I took the dormer side and at 5’6” hit my head the last morning. The bathroom was almost entirely clean, but there was mold around the inside of the shower door - most visible when it is closed, some around the tile lines, and the venting fan did not turn on or provide airflow during our stay.

We requested a Mountain View and were not disappointed... the view from our balcony was absolutely beautiful. The staff were helpful, breakfast was good, the room was spacious and the beds comfortable...although not the double bed as requested. We initially accessed the hotel via a rather steep "main" road but later found a quaint track from the back of the hotel which led directly into lovely and vibrant Wengen town.

A double bed as requested. No exhaust fan in the bathroom.

We had the pleasure of staying at this charming historic hotel with a great location, just a short uphill walk from the train station and the center of Wengen. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. Due to the limited availability when we reserved, we stayed in several different rooms for a total of 6 nights. The front superior rooms on the second and third floors feature small balconies overlooking stunning views of the surroundings. The breakfast was served in the beautiful dining room, and an excellent selection of food and drinks was offered. For dinner, the hotel offers a five-course menu that changes daily, crafted by the chef. We had dinner every night during our stay, and each meal was fantastic, accompanied by impeccable service.

The view, the historic ambiance and decor, the food, the big tub in the room and did I mention the view? :) It's a very special place - one that you will never forget. Words and photos don't really do it justice. There were minor things we didn't like, but it didn't take away at all from the overall magic of the place.

All minor things: (1) the floors are very creaky - you get used to it but it made me feel like I had to tiptoe around my room. (2) there really wasn't a bar or bartender - this seems to be more of a winter amenity. Basically they can pour you a drink but not make a drink. (3) The staff were friendly and helpful but also had a slight vibe of being annoyed with all of the guests. I realize Europe is really crowded, but we go out of our way to be very friendly and gracious to staff and I just never shook the feeling that we were somehow beneath at least the owner and the other staff were tired.

Amazing stay, highly recommend. Historic building, and INSANE views from the room balcony. Staff were extremely attentive, breakfast was fantastic. Short and easy access (although uphill!) from the Wengen train station. Perfect base for the area, and easy to leave car at the Lauterbrunnen train station before taking the short train up to Wengen. Highly recommend.

Nothing.
