This room had the best view of the Alps. The staff was very friendly and helpful with information about Wengen. The steep up hill walk to the train was hard the first time but got better and always worth it. Excellent breakfast and we had dinner at their restaurant twice and it was fabulous. The rooms were clean, not large and the bathroom was very small but otherwise perfect accommodations. The hotel was very convenient to all the trams and trains. Loved the view from our balcony, the food and this beautiful village of Wengen.

Amazing place to stay in Wengen. I’m still amazed that Thomas and Sarah actually took the time to learn every guest’s name and chat to them, extending invitations to dinner and BBQs and sharing local events, but also striking the perfect balance of not feeling overly intrusive. They are so accommodating: I arrived early and was immediately told where to put my bags and when to come back, and given extensive tips by both Sarah and Thomas on what to do and why. The exterior looks old and a little kitschy, in a charmingly old-school way, but inside is modern and very clean/well-maintained. Yes, the rooms are basic (at least mine was) but they are exactly as described/pictured, and clean, comfortable, and cozy. I also expected a “garden view” or “city view” and instead ended up with an incredible view over the Lauterbrunnen Valley and the Jungfrau. The single best view I think I've ever had from a hotel and the most incredible place. I could have sat on that balcony for days! Breakfast was tasty and varied/substantial, and while I didn’t have dinner it sounded nice and the Thursday BBQ smelt good when I got home.

The hotel working team here is SUPER. They are so passionate, friendly and kind! I love the experience and service here. The room owns a terrace that faces Jungfraujoch, you could just sit there and waiting for sunset, perfect golden mountain -> rosy pink sky. The chef in the hotel is so professional and friendly. The food is INCREDIBLE with reasonable price. I will defensively recommend this hotel to my friends.

I loved the breakfast aspect of it. The selections were ample and everything was in good quality.

I just did not like the fact that we had to walk with our suitcases to and from the hotel to the train station. Going to the hotel was fine because we had to go down the road which had some little inclination but going back to the train station was challenge because of going up that inclination. The owners should offer to take the guests to take them back to the train station with their golf carts.

We spent 5 nights in this naturally awe-inspiring setting. All hotel staff were exceptionally hospitable, informative, helpful and spoke English well. They greeted us each morning with a report on conditions in the mountains and village. It was only a 10-minute walk in hiking boots up to the cable car station, where you could rent and store ski gear. We ate meals at the hotel often and the service was great. Breakfasts were plentiful and fresh. Dinners were four courses of simply delicious dishes made using some local ingredients. The south-facing view from the balcony of our second-floor room was spectacular. Everything was kept clean and tidy. Loved the privacy in the sauna, and the other cozy gathering rooms.

The bathroom was small.

The staff was very friendly, thoughtful and nice. The view from the balkony was awesome, although the other hotel disturbed a bit. We had a dinner (around 35 CHF) at the hotel and it was really good (4 course menu). The Wifi was very fast and the room was clean and comfy. Toiletry products are well prepared and I didn't have to use my owns at all.

I booked the hotel around December christmas time, which was really expensive. And I didn't use the balcony at all, cuz it was too cold. I thought this was a waste of money and someone who wanna visit here should also think about it. In this aspect value for money is pretty bad.

The property is a short walk down from the train station and has magnificient views when conditions are clear. The helpful international staff provided sincere, exceptional service. Bollacz checked us in and right from the start we felt at home. My traveling companion was ill during our visit and Monica set up an appointment at the town clinic where she received outstanding care. Tomas provided a suggestion for a hike route that proved to be one of the highlights of my stay. And, finally, I will mention the bunny “corral” at the corner of the property that added an extra homey touch to those missing their furry friends back home. Wengen’s car free setting is perfect for those who savor travel by foot.

Wengen is an incredibly special little town and I am so happy my friend chose Hotel Edelweiss for our stay there. Tom and staff were super helpful with recommendations for the town and surrounding areas. It was nice and easy with breakfast there in the morning and we did dinner there two nights as well (especially convenient and appreciated when you're tired from hiking/exploring the mountains all day). One night was a summer bbq outside which was awesome! Best pork I've ever eaten, and a great wine cocktail as well. My room had the most magical view...it was hard to stop looking out the window when I was in there, especially in the morning and around sunset. I appreciated the TV with endless channel options and the desk too. Nice to have it all there in your little mountain retreat! Highly recommend.

Leaving this place was heartbreaking! If I could have stayed forever, didn't have to leave...it would have been perfect! Note that there is a steep walk down from the train (we took the stairs, but it's easier to just walk on the street down) and a steep walk back up. I know this isn't for everyone/not everyone is able to do that. But the hotel can help arrange transport if needed I believe.

The property was slightly tucked away from the main strip, which was great and made for an even better atmosphere, however, it was very easy to walk to the trains (less than five minutes). There was a great playground for the kids to hang out and an indoor playroom, which was a big plus for us. Overall, the best part about this property was the people that work in it. They were extremely nice and accommodating to us offering advice and fun casual conversation. They were very friendly towards kids even letting our kids feed the rabbits on the property. We plan on visiting Switzerland again and will absolutely stay here.

Beds a little small for me (however I am 6’4).

We were upgraded to a room with balcony and wonderful view upon our check in. Monica was very helpful and so was Tomas who gave us some alternative options to visit despite the wet weather so we managed to explore and return to enjoy our dinner at the hotel. It was chef special set menu which need to book in advance. Our first try on the cheese fondue was very interesting with the brandy combo recommended by Tomas and it was really amazing something we never tried before.Thank you and would recommend this place to travellers who needs good workout walking down the hills to the hotel and up the hills to the train station.Overall good stay and warm hospitality .
