The small town and the hotel exceeded my expectations. The hotel is popular with locals and dinner in the restaurant was excellent. The owners Patricia and Soren and their staff are very welcoming. The location of the town is very good with raill & bus links to almost anywhere. Swiss rail lived up fully to its reputation. A Cable car is situated 200m from hotel and reaches the 1900m at the top of Stanserhorn in minutes. Recommend purchasing a "Tell Pass"

Everything was god but remember to expect London prices everywhere

The room was immaculate with an incredible view, and one of the best hotel showers I’ve ever had!! The staff were very pleasant and helpful throughout our stay, and the area itself was so peaceful and quiet, especially early in the mornings. We also loved the breakfast. We easily could’ve stayed for another 3 nights - we will definitely be back!

There isn’t much parking available, so you might have to move your car around or lose your spot when you go out. But the staff there were always really helpful and did their best to manage it properly.

Unfortunately due to Time restraints I could only use the breakfast facility once but was very good and Friendly Staff,(I had to be at work between 06:30 and 07.00AM every day of stay). Koffie Machine in Room helped with this.

Bed was very soft would have preferred a harder bead but that is only a personal preference.

The staff were very welcoming and accommodating throughout the hotel. In particular the reception team were supportive in showing us where to park; and the friendly helpful service in the dining room was very notable - cheerful, professional and they could not have done more to look after us. We opted for a meal inclusive tariff, expecting to have to go beyond this to the a la carte menu - but the choices in the meal plan were interesting, varied and excellent quality for the price of the meal. The room was modern, comfortable, quiet and cozy, with everything needed to enjoy a short stay.

Lovely, clean, and comfortable hotel in a splendid location! The staff and restaurant were excellent as well. Very happy with our stay; we would readily return.

A gorgeous, modern hotel in a traditional building. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful when we arrived, offering us a secure garage for the motorbikes and letting us into the room early. The rooms were large and comfortable and the restaurant was great.

The room was comfortable, spacious and super clean. There are two terraces for hotel guests where we could relax and enjoy the views. Hotel staff was very polite and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay in Engel hotel.

In our room internet connection was very poor. Breakfast was good, but it was rather cold buffet.

Rooms were nice, coffee maker was awesome, having A/C was huge, comfortable beds, and staff was really kind & helpful!

The breakfast was not a highlight, needs more options, variety. Having the terraces locked on Sunday evening prohibited us from eating outside, getting utensils, things we needed to have take away food.

The staff were very friendly and made sure that our stay went smoothly. The location is great, a pretty village with mountain views. The restaurant had outdoor seating and the food was excellent. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable, and had the addition of a Nespresso coffee maker! The parking could possibly be a slight problem if the hotel is busy but I’m sure there would be something not too far away. We have been looking for a great hotel for a one night stop for ages and now we’ve finally found one! We will definitely stay again!

In the centre of Stans, and also a 1 minute walk from the train station - only a 20 minute train to Lucerne. The staff were super friendly and accommodating, especially to our dog, and spoiled my mother-in-law on her birthday. The room was stunning, clean and so comfortable. The food was delicious.
