Our room was large with lots of windows & great to have space & tables on both sides of the bed! Soundproofing to the street was good, however being next to the lifts the noise of people waiting there carried. Unlike other reviews, we found the cleaner very keen to clean our room every day of our week stay. Wifi was good. Getting here from Taoyuan airport is so simple & cheap. MRT runs from both terminals direct to a quieter separate MRT Taipei station & only costs 150 TWD ($A7.50). Tickets can easily be bought at counter, not machine! Rapid train saves about half an hour travel time for same price. We went out exit 3, but 4 or 5 are all fine for being closest to this hotel. The convenient location is perfect - a short walk to airport MRT, train & MRT station & bus station. Day trips are easy from here & there are so many places to visit! A night market is about 15 minutes walk away & in another direction we found Chinatown. The staff at Tourist Information in Taipei Station spoke excellent English & were extremely helpful. We are happy this hotel provides free filtered water for refills (along with two water bottles a day) to cut down on environmental problems of plastic. Also a machine with delicious coffee & an array of free snacks & soft drinks are near reception, but unfortunately no juice or healthy options. We would stay here again for the convenient location & large rooms.

We did not find the male reception staff very friendly which may be due to the language barrier.

Excellent in all aspects. Location was close to Taipei Main station, and the area had so many food options that were awesome. Ximending is only a walk away. If you’re visiting Jiufen, the bus stop for a direct 1-hour ride to Jiufen old street is only a 5-minutes walk away. Staff were attentive to every detail and welcoming. Lobby was clean and comfortable. The additional free snacks and drinks were thoughtful. We were surprised to also find them in the room. It’s a lovely gesture. Room was very spacious and even had a living area for entertaining and relaxing. All parts were comfortable. We had some of the best sleeps on our trip at Rich & Free. There is a FamilyMart convenience store right below the hotel, and another 7-11 across the street. You’ll be spoilt for options for food if you stay at this hotel.

Convenient hotel in Taipei, 5-10 minute walk from the taipei central station/HSR as well as the airport train. Convenient on the way in and out of the city. The staff was super nice, the room had plenty of space (and a window) as well as a good bathroom and AC, as well as windows for a view across the street and some natural light. It was pretty safe and quiet, no complaints. (entry into building with room card, same for elevator.) There's a laundromat a short walk away which was super convenient. Really close by (1 block) is a Michelin-class black pepper bun vendor, for some delicious snacks, as well as several boba shops. We didn't have breakfast but there are snacks and tea in the lobby, a nice touch. They also let us store our luggage on the last day, without any issues.

Wish it was slightly closer to a metro stop, but <8 minutes is very manageable, especially when we were out of the hotel all day. You can walk most of the way on the underground mall, so if the weather is bad/hot you can be covered most of the way at least! Shower could benefit from new grout but it wasn't gross or anything. There's a single elevator so you might need to wait a few minutes sometimes, but it's possible to take the stairs down. (entry isn't possible from the stairs, only elevator but it seemed to wait for people on the ground floor so not much waiting there)

Awesome location and super friendly staff. The room is pretty spacious for solo traveler and nicely cleaned daily. My only issue is the noise, cause my room was facing the 3rd floor stairs and those families with kids are so loud when going in/out the lounge on level 2. But I’m sure all other rooms don’t have this issue and it’s not really the hotel‘s fault anyway.

Location within 5 mins walk of Taipei Main Station. Comfortable firm mattresses and crisp clean sheets and pillowcases, functional air conditioning with ‘one button’ operation that ‘made sense’ (so many panels are full of symbols that make no sense?). The staff were really helpful. There are daytours that you can book on site. For brekky, McDonalds only 3 mins walk, or a lovely Taiwan pancake stall right next to Maccas if you want more traditional. Getting here: after you get off at Taipei Main Station from the Airport Express, come out at Exit 3 (Chongqing N Rd) and turn left. Walk straight up (about 5 mins) cross over the big intersection at Beiping Rd, until you get to Kaifeng St. Turn Right, and the hotel is just next door to the Family Mart in Kaifeng St. There’s a street sign outside, and it’s on level 2 of the building.

To get out into the street, I couldn’t walk down to level one using the stairs, so i had to wait for the elevator each time. Not a big issue really, but just a bit of unnecessary waiting.

The location above Family Mart was convenient. Room for two people with full bed was comfortable enough to move around, enough floor space for suitcases. Oddly, the bathroom was very large. The cleaning staff was very respectful of our requests.

Basically, your suitcase is your dresser, only 2 hangers on the wall to hang your coat. The room was cold, but they provide heater if you ask. The pressure in the shower is great but depending on the direction of the shower head, it flooded the bathroom floor. Also, recommend having another mirror in the room.

My family and I stayed at this hotel for 10 days. The service was excellent and they treated their customers very well. Their lobby was quiet and offered many snacks and drinks, creating a very comfortable environment. Our room was a little small for 3 people, but it worked out overall. Shower room was spacious and beds were very comfortable. Location was also very convenient. Only 5 minutes from the metro station, 10 minutes from the night market, and many delicious food stores nearby. Overall, I would stay at this hotel again and I would recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable, yet quality hotel. Pretty much you cannot go wrong with choosing this hotel. The hotel is located in an excellent location with lots to eat and do around (it is also short walk to XMD), and near the main station. Getting around from here was a breeze. The hotel staff are also exceptional, they’re incredibly helpful and friendly. Any questions we had about our planned activities or even requesting for some extra room amenities, they were always quick and responsive. The room was comfortable and clean, and also nicely sized. I highly recommend Rich & Free.

There’s only one lift at the hotel, so it can be a wait. Thankfully, the stairs are easily accessible. Also, took us awhile to figure out how the aircon worked.

The location is fantastic, it's just right next to a Family Mart and opposite there's a 7-11 too. Walkable to the Taipei Main Station and Ximending Night Market. The staff were really helpful and friendly, they provided sufficient information to help us get from the airport to the hotel, free snacks at the reception area, cleaned up our room really quickly. When we checked out early they offered us free luggage storage without us asking and when we returned, they showed us the items we left in our room and they were wrapped nicely. Their attention to detail is amazing. 10/10 will come back again.

The lift is a little small so it gets filled up rather quickly so you may have to wait for the next one.

I had a room with two double beds for myself, so it felt quite spacious, but it would have been very crowded even for two people. The room was clean, there was shower gel and shampoo provided in the bathroom. There was a kettle and coffee and tea bags, plus bottled water. There are a Family Mart and a 7-Eleven just donwstairs.

Although there was a window, it was small, and overlooked a building about 1m away, so not much light could enter from outside. The aircon was very loud, the bath fan was not strong enough to dry the shower, and the hair dryer was useless, just heating with very weak airflow.
