We loved the atmosphere of this place - it's small and cozy and well cared for. Most of all we loved meeting Ploy and her family. She was beyond helpful, booking tours and activities for us and giving us all the information we needed, and genuinely caring too - she helped me when I came down with an odd allergy. I loved talking with her, she's great fun and easygoing, and it's a pleasure to have a coffee in the common area and have a chat with her. If you're looking for a place that will stay in your memories, this is the place for you!

I liked everything about this place but I recommend keeping in mind that since there are no actual walls you will hear anything that goes on in the other huts and outside. Not an issue for me as I use earplugs (which by the way are available on the property for free), but something to keep in mind if you require a noiseless environment to rest.

I absolutely loved my stay at Fundee. As soon as I saw it I pounced—the bamboo and rustic feel while being in such a good location was great! Waking up each morning in the hut and taking the short walk to Buak Haad Park for yoga followed by coffee in the nearby cafe was such an amazing way to start the year. Outside of the hut itself there is a chilled common area where you can work from with refillable water and crackers on offer, and cats for company. The owners are wonderful, very helpful and friendly with great communication throughout. A truly great stay, especially for those who are low maintenance and enjoy the simpler life.

The layout of the room makes it awkward for charging electronics, but this is because I need to use adapters.

Toilet is superrrr comfortable and clean!!!!! Actually prefer it more than the normal hotels because of its cleanliness.

The towel given because it doesn't really absorb water that well haha. Mosquitoes are definitely everywhere, but I was given that tool to kill any of those insects flying, so all is well. Also, the couple next to my hut definitely had s*x twice coz it wasn't soundproof, but because I have encountered such a review even before my stay, you could say that I already expected such things to happen. All in all, the great hospitality by Ploy is to be appreciated. Thank you so much!

Staying at Fundee Story Bamboo House was an experience so exceptional that I almost felt like never leaving. From the moment I arrived, Ploy and her husband Tokto made me feel so at home that extending my stay in Chiang Mai was an easy decision. Tokto is the more silent one. The Bamboo House has a unique design inspired by Thai rural culture. That appealed me the most when I checked into the hotel. It is located close to most of the famous temples of Chiang Mai and also the Weekend Night Market. I’ve had incredible stays throughout Thailand, but Ploy’s dedication to making sure every need is met sets Fundee Bamboo House apart. If I could give a rating higher than 10, I’d gladly give it 12 out of 10! The warmth and care she showed made it impossible not to fall in love with the place. All throughout the day, she kept messaging me what else could I do to explore Chiang Mai further. Adding to the charm are the five cats that call Fundee Bamboo House home. Each one is a joy to be around, but the black and white one stole my heart with its friendly and playful nature. Fundee Bamboo House is more than just a place to stay; it’s a home away from home, and I can’t wait to return. I might just return back to Chiang Mai just to stay at this home away from home.

There is nothing to be disliked when you call it your home. :)

Amazinf calm place if you're into simplicity and usability. I really enjoy the room make out of bamboo, it just feels so special! 😍 owners are super chill and helpful! it has also free coffee and some cookies 🍪🙏

Not really an issue about the location or owners, but sometimes people have a little respect after 11pm (when are quiet hours due the bamboo not very sound proof), chatting loudly and laughing even after midnight. luckily they provide free earplugs but yeah, not a big big issue 😉

Stayed for 5 days and enjoyed every one of them! Great host and a great little bungalow. Ploy was super helpful with booking activities and even provided a document with all the things we could do for free with out the need of paying guides and tours, she was also very knowledgeable about where to go and what was on. Communal fridge was available as well as biscuits, tea, coffee, drinking water, and bananas so that was a nice touch

The temple next door had a gong go off every night at 4:30am with the dogs barking to the sound of the gongs, this was to wake up the monks apparently. Didn’t bother us too much but it was deffo heard.

In a fantastic location in Old Town, really close to all the wats, restaurants and night food market- lovely area to walk around in, walked everywhere so didn’t need to get a taxi the entire stay. Staff are lovely, good for advice or a chat and always smiling and chill, perfect. Room was clean, bathroom was great, bed was comfy. Would stay again! :)

Only small thing is it could be nice to have a small lamp in the room as the main light can be a little bright for evening (but I can be light sensitive so this is a personal preference!)

The location is perfect but calm and the staff is very kind and helpful :) Free coffee and water. I loved the little quiet common space with cute little cats. A little piece of nature among the old city. The bamboo hut is simple but good with a fan and a mosquito net ! The bathroom is very good and clean.

the only bad point is for the size of the room : larger would be better (or at least with some shelf to unpack our big backpacks)

We enjoyed the structures were built from bamboo and all the plants growing around, which made us feel a bit closer to nature even in the middle of the city. The huts were small but very comfortable and clean, with nice private bathroom, mosquito net, big fan, towels provided, and even slippers for the bathroom so your feet don't get wet. I loved the peace and quiet on the premises, it felt like an oasis of zen in the busy city. Ploy is an amazing host, so friendly and chatty, really cares for the place and her guests having a great experience, always happy to help or give advice, book you transport or a fun tour. There is a small common to sit down and chill. Some drinking water, coffee and tea provided. She even puts out some bananas, avocados and biscuits to munch on.

It wasn't an issue for us personally, but the reality of the place is that it isn't huge, so the huts are fairly small and close to each other. Because the bamboo is far from soundproof, you can hear everything happening around you. Therefore it is the guesthouse policy to be quiet after certain times, no smoking, no loud music etc. If you like to make some noise or looking for a party maybe better choose a different place. As bamboo is a natural material, there is some wear to some of it, so don't expect it to be picture perfect. The access to the huts is a few narrow steep steps, so if you have mobility issues, might be difficult for you getting in and out.

Perhaps my favourite stay anywhere out of 15 or 20 so far in Thailand. I don't use this word much but, I just loved the general "vibe" of the place. Very welcoming, knowledgeable and nice all round owners. I enjoyed the free coffee and sociable chill area maybe too much!

There is nothing I didnt like and I plan to go back in January after Hanoi.
