Friendly helpful staff clean sanitary.

No full curtains around the bed but it's fine. Some hooks at the wall of the sinks would be nice for your towel and toiletries bag. But this is just a suggestion.

My single room was on the 4th floor. The men’s bathroom is on the 3rd floor. The distance was no problem. The bathroom was cleaned daily. MON at the front desk was my favorite receptionist because she did more than just greet you, she carried on a conversation which made me feel welcome. I felt 10 times safer in Thailand than at home. The air conditioning in my room was good. The breakfast was unlimited watermelon, banana and bread with jam. Because I eat only two meals a day, I would eat another small breakfast of two eggs, sausage and fruit at a restaurant only a block away and the meals were never more than $3 US dollars. For supper I went to a restaurant only one block away that had the best price and selection around which was identified by a food critic staying in the hostel. The price of the stay in the Green Sleep hostel was 1/3 the cost of my hostel in Phuket and 1/4 the cost of my hostel in Bangkok. For transportation, I used the red songtowls found only a block away and Grab which would pick you up at the front door of the hostel. Both are unbelievably cheap and convenient. The Sunday night market, a must to visit in Chiang Mai was one block away. I found a free Buddhist class being held at a temple only one block away that was extremely educational. I found booking my day tours through the hostel to be cheaper and a lot easier than doing it online. To meet anyone in the hostel and get a conversation going, all you have to do is ask them where they are from or what country is on their “bucket list” for next year. I found the Green Sleep hostel is as sociable as you want it to be.

Staff were all very helpful, friendly. room and all facility are so clean and comfy, each bunk got a well covered curtain, large comfy bed, bed side shelf that you can stack couple of books and little things. the hostel sits right in the center of old city but nestle in a little ally so is very very quiet at night, I got the best sleep here for sure! common area are also very clean and comfortable, it's a place really well take care of!! all the staff put lots of love and passion into their work, I'll definitely come back and stay here again.

Staff was great! Especially Chacha from the reception was really fun and always helpful. Location is in the center of the old town, perfect for exploring Chiang Mai. Dorm room was quite big and bed was a bit hard, but comfortable. Shared bathrooms were always clean, but they could use some refreshments.

If you are working remotely the common area can be a bit too loud sometimes. Also there could be an automatic water machine in the kitchen instead of small jar refilled by staff. During the night water quickly runs out and you need to pick up a large bottle to have drinking water.

I stayed here for four nights and from the moment I arrived I was greeted by Cha who made me feel so at ease whilst being here. She was incredibly welcoming and made me feel super comfortable! The property was calm, clean and friendly. The facilities were great and well looked after. Lots of information leaflets which were great! Cha helped me out SO much with excursions and planning my route for my next stay - she was great and very friendly! I wanted to stay another night but they were fully booked, for a reason!

The beds were a little squeaky when getting in and out of them, but no bother :)

Stayed in a female 6 bed dorm and was lovely and really clean. Beds and pillows are rock solid but that’s most places in Thailand and Asia I think!! The area to chill out or work and the kitchen was always clean and tidy and nice to hang out! Bathrooms were kept really clean too and not too busy! The girls working there are hilarious and really helpful with organising trips or transport - they are brilliant! Location is great for the old town - you can walk anywhere, the Sunday night market is on your doorstep but it’s behind the hostel so not noisy. There are lots of places to eat, drink, temples etc If you want to go further afield outside of old town it’s not far to get a bolt or hire a bike. The vibe is social but not party but also can be quiet too- a nice mix depending on what you want and who you talk to :) Will definitely come back here for another trip to Chiang Mai :)

The staff is super nice, love how they really try to get to know the people that stay there and you don’t feel like just another number. They asked how your day was and remembered things from the days before. I arrived with the night train and booked the room for the night before and I could check in with self check in at night 4am which was super! I extended my stay and they even gave me a lower bed when I asked. The common area has a nice vibe and is a great place to read a book or drink a cup of (free) coffee. The beds are clean and so are the shower and toilet. Everything you need is provided: locker, towel, drinking water hot and cold, coffee thee and a fridge. Even free breakfast! It’s in the old city center and would definitely come back but mostly because of the super kind people that work there :)

The only thing is the bed it’s a bit hard surface but that’s different for everyone so they can’t make that perfect for everyone of course.

I have a few things to say about this hostel. To begin with, it’s without a doubt the best hostel I’ve stayed at in Northern Thailand. The atmosphere is cozy, welcoming, and it’s the perfect place to meet lovely people and feel at home even when you’re far away. But what truly makes this place special is the people — and especially Chacha. She’s by far the most wonderful receptionist I’ve ever met in all my travels. She’s kind, helpful, always smiling, and genuinely cares about everyone. She made me feel like more than just a guest — like a friend. Thank you for everything! I’ll never forget this place.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Green Sleep Hostel in Chiang Mai, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the hostel. The staff members were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The hostel itself was clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. The common areas were spacious and inviting, perfect for meeting other travelers and relaxing after a day of exploring the city. The dormitory rooms were comfortable and equipped with everything I needed for a restful night’s sleep. One aspect of Green Sleep Hostel that truly stood out to me was the excellent staff. They were always available to provide recommendations on things to see and do in Chiang Mai, and they went out of their way to make sure that all guests felt welcome and valued. Their genuine hospitality made my stay truly memorable, and I would not hesitate to recommend Green Sleep Hostel to anyone looking for accommodation in Chiang Mai. Overall, my experience at Green Sleep Hostel was exceptional, thanks in large part to the wonderful staff. I will definitely be returning on my next trip to Chiang Mai.

It was kept very clean, open and airy, and a great size common room to hang out in. Easy to meet other travellers and in walking distance from markets, the gate, and many other activities.

It shows up as a slightly different location on Maps/Google, when it’s actually around the corner. I arrived at night and was concerned and felt a little unsafe trying to find the place, as the location it appears to be is actually a pretty sketchy looking building. This also proved confusing for drivers coming to pick me up. If there’s a way to show its actual location via GPS, that would be great!
