Interesting and quiet part of Old Town in a beautiful old (old feeling in a good way, anyway)building, yet easy walks to all of the Old Town tourist sites and temples. It had a really nice feel to it (this isn't your 5 star glass and marble place if that's what you're looking for, but it's precious and unique). Very mellow and old school feel. I had a balcony over looking the road and watching the world go by it felt like I was back in SE Asia 20 years ago. It was exactly what I wanted and I loved it.

The only complaint is the wifi (at least in my room) was quite poor.

Pros: Rooms and bed were a good size and have private balcony. Breakfast selection was good. Staff were friendly. Location in old town did mean that many day trips will pick up directly from hotel which is good.

Cons: As is usual for Thailand hotels, hot water was hit + miss. Water pressure also hit + miss. Location was about 2.5km from main nightlife so long walks to/from if no taxis around - but hard to tell if that is always the case because not sure if nearer bars/restaurants were closed due to it being low season. Noise from surrounding rooms sometimes was an issue due to the wooden flooring and fairly thin walls.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at De Lanna Hotel in Chiang Mai, particularly impressed by the spaciousness of the room which exceeded my expectations. Conveniently located on the ground floor, our room offered a delightful view of the swimming pool and the courtyard, enhancing the serene atmosphere. The room’s design was carefully considered, with excellent lighting and a jacuzzi tub that added a touch of luxury. Additionally, the extensive selection of TV channels, covering major languages, was a notable perk, making the hotel especially appealing for honeymooners or anyone looking to unwind and relax.

Our room was lovely and in a quiet area. No pool access at room 114 but close to the breakfast diner and laundry room. Very clean hotel, great location. The bed was comfortable and good size room and bathroom. Lovely big shower over the bath. Very modern and Thai style. Our room was cleaned every day. Walking distance to the market on Sunday night. We ate market food for dinner. Great location to see many temples and not far from transport..tuk tuks or taxis.

Could hear the family with kids upstairs moving furniture (they were very loud). And people next door were very loud. Smokers, could smell people smoking around the hotel. There should be a designated area for smokers. Need a stand for our suitcase and a small table in the bathroom to put clothes after shower.

After trying a few I think this is the best “budget” hotel in Chiang Mai, depending on your definition. The rooms are really nice, the building is really nice, the pool area is really nice… everything you would want to be compromising on for paying less is exactly what you do compromise on. Toiletries are basic. Kettle not a coffee machine. Etc. There is no compromise on feeling like you’re in a lovely place. Especially some hotels in this bracket, they smash the pool into one corner and then take photos to make it look like it’s bigger and much nicer… this is a proper pool, a nice place to swim and sit… I won’t be experimenting with any other similar bracket hotels in Chiang Mai from now on because all you’d be looking for is somewhere that matches this.

Staff was friendly and professional. Parking was good, restaurant was good, the breakfast was very good and a good deal at THB 250, the room was spacious, the pool was nice and I believe a salt water pool. Location in the Old City is very quaint and where one wants to be.

The Air Conditioning unit leaked water onto the floor by the entrance to the bath which is a potential slip and fall hazard. The main issue for me was the smell of mold in the room. It only bothered me when I returned to the room, however it is something the hotel needs to be aware of and correct. The water leak needs to be addressed and the mold cleaned up out of the overhead Air Conditioning unit. I did not notify staff of the issue, I probably should have mentioned it to staff and switched rooms.

Location,staff is helpless but polite and good.Restaurant is clean.Hotel in general is clean.

The ground floor rooms are not at all private.the hotel has a garden space which they use as a open air dining and drinking space.This garden is barely 5 to 8 meters from the ground floor rooms.The people dining there can look straight into your room right till your bathroom for room number 109,110and 111.So you have to keep your curtain drawn all the time.So no sunlight.Plus from early morning people sit in this garden and but obvious you can't sleep.peacefully.

The breakfast buffet was adequate. The pool area was a good size and had trees surrounding for shade. The outdoor space in each room was a very nice touch. The bathrooms are very well equipped with extra amenities such as a bathrobe and a bathtub. The bed was very comfortable. The staff on my arrival and the first morning of my stay were helpful with bookings. The location of the hotel is nice, on a less busy street yet near shops, restaurants and some tourist sites.

The music at the pool area needs to be turned down. And a different style of music would be far more relaxing.

Ate dinner at the restaurant a few times. The food is 5 stars in particular the curries are a stand out. The staff are great, friendly polite and responsive . This restaurant is a hidden gem and under utilised. Needs to promote itself better as while there are cheaper options around the quality of the food and its presentation is exceptional

Bathroom tight if both want to use at the same time

We stayed there just one night before departing and we wanted a nice place to have a rest, and oh my what a great rest and sleep we had! The room is soooo comfortable, homey and inviting, the beds are superb and you feel like just staying there. The pool area is very nice and you don't feel the business of the street.

The only thing we would say is that the pool area is a tad small, we arrived and there was no sunbed available, they were all taken. So we just sat on the tables and waited for some to get free
