The staff was very nice, polite and helpful, although they have limited English. The location is superb. It is in the center of the walled old town area. It is right on the the night market street on Sunday night. The central location makes it easy to visit all the temples in old town by walking. The room has a nice little side room that could be opened like a veranda, perfect for taking coffee or tea.

I loved the location being in the heart of the city. The breakfast was good and satisfying. All of the staff were amazing and helpful. I love the building itself, it's an old building built in an old style. Had old fashion windows and doors which made the atmosphere of the place. Sunday night when the walking street out front is happening the whole building comes alive with music and takes on a whole new personality which is great to see happen. I think it's the best live music on the walking street that night. Great place to stay. I was there 2 weeks.

Historical building with a lot of charme. Big room nicely furnished. Centrally located, but we had no problem with noise during the night. Nice bar area with good cocktails and enjoyable live musik. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

This place just oozes charm. Not the luxurious kind of charm but it certainly has the real old word Thai character. The accomodation itself is basic but it has most things that you need in an unsurpassed location in the old Town. Make sure that you visit on Sunday night for the street markets which are held in this street. Only a short walk to the large old town temples and Thaphae Gate. The staff are exceptionally helpful also 😁😁😁

I didn’t have any issues with these, however there are a couple of considerations if you have mobility issues. There is no lift and the shower is over-bath. I felt that these were a plus in a way because I enjoyed the exercise.

Staff was wonderful and cooperative. Location was exceptionally convenient, almost exactly in the middle of the old city, and therefore with easy access to almost everything. One of the things we particularly enjoyed were the jazz bar clubs about a block away. But...

The hotel was on the street where every Sunday a night market is held which runs till midnight. The market itself is not particularly a problematic, but, in addition on Sunday the music downstairs at the hotel runs until midnight and that was very loud and to be honest, disturbing. Another night, the music downstairs only runs from 8:00 to 10:00.

Good location, close to shops, restaurants, ATM, attractions and right on Market Street. (Sunday Market) Dated hotel but the room grows on you after a while. The room has good WIFI, shower and the beds are OK. The Saturday night live music was good and finishes around midnight. Tony the host was friendly, gave us much local knowledge and made our stay enjoyable.

There is no curtain on the window that faces the walkway. Privacy is not an issue as the window is high up the wall but the room floods with daylight very early in the morning. It wouldn't take much to install a roller blind/curtain.

I love older rustic properties like this. Amazing location. And, very comfortable and laid back place.

Night duty manager was a boy who was very resourceful and proactive. During the day, staff was disappointingly bad at service. No help at all. Didn't care enough either. The place honestly needs upkeep. The room with the balcony is amazing but noisy. Needs sealed doors. Toilet was leaking but the boy during night duty was proactive in fixing it. Hand soap to tumblers to tea bags, everything had to be asked. Not sure why the room wasn't prepared in advance at all.

The location is perfect being close to LOTS of temples. You are also right near the Sunday walking street. The hotel has an old charm to it which was nice. The reception staff were very kind. Our room was ready when we arrived and they walked us upstairs to it. When we checked out they held our bags since we had a later flight. They give 2 free waters everyday.

I didn’t like the shower drain being outside of the shower. I almost flooded the bathroom on the first night because it can’t drain fast enough. I ended up having to turn the water off when I was shampooing and soaping up.

My partner and I stayed here for four days and absolutely adored this hotel. The old-style decor was really charming and gave the hotel a nice cozy feel. The were also beautiful views of the mountains and nearby temples from the balconies, which we loved. The location is perfect, giving you easy access to the attractions in Old Town Chiang Mai. We arrived on a Sunday and so were treated to the Sunday Walking Market directly outside the hotel, as well as some great music in the ground floor bar while the market was on. The staff were wonderful very friendly, welcoming and attentive to our needs. Villa Duangchampa was a lovely place to return to at the end of each day and made our stay in Chiang Mai all the more enjoyable.

Only things I would note are that the rooms are only accessible by stairs so may not be suitable if you have mobility constraints, and the breakfast options, while nice, are limited. However there are plenty of good cafes nearby if you’re craving more variety. These are more considerations than criticisms though. Overall we loved this hotel and would definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We booked a room with private balcony, air con and a bath on the top/4th floor and had a lovely view of the mountains over the top of the buildings of the town. It's not super fancy/luxury style, but more cosy and homely just as we like it . All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was very clean and in a fantastic central location. Good value for money.
