We liked everything. Location in the Old Town just in front of Wat Chedi Luang is perfect, giving central access to the Saturday and Sunday night markets, temples and the key attractions. The facilities were first rate, comfort, decor, cleanliness, a help your self cafe,(free) amazing large breakfast (western and Thai) at a very reasonable optional additional charge. They gave us free slippers, and provided us with some of their hard to find rice crackers at cost since we wanted them to carry as future snacks on our trip. They provided free laundry wash, dry, fold and packaged service which after 2 weeks on the road for us was a lot of laundry! Jenny, Kong and his wife (all family) own and run this small boutique hotel and genuinely care for their guests. They arrange Bolt pickup/ transport bookings and constantly checked in with us if the driver picked us up as agreed etc. They are amazing people who treat you like family and treasured guests. Even after we left and had to stay at another hotel due to flight cancellation the caring continued and they arranged for a taxi pickup at 4:30 a.m. using their local contacts! This is a level of caring and service well beyond what anyone could expect and we would give them a 20 out of 10 if we could. The rooms and decor and even the exterior sitting with a water feature and orchids are perfect. Recommendation for local things to do (like where they go for Khao Soi) is amazing. Yes as another exampel- a Bolt taxi was arranged to drop us off at a local " hole in the wall eatery" that cooked amazing Khao Soi.

This was our third time staying at Villa Thai Orchid and honestly it just gets better each time. The absolute winning feature is the incredible attention to every detail that the amazing hosts take care of, from floors that are clean enough to eat a meal on all the way to free laundry and breakfast provisions/snacks available throughout the day. The location is unbeatable, the price is very reasonable and after a couple of days it feels like home. We were there 11 nights this trip (and there's enough to occupy us in and around Chiang Mai for a couple of months!) and we wouldn't even consider looking at other options for our next visit. When a place is this good and ticks so many boxes, there's really no alternative!

Great location, VERY clean, easy, and free laundry service. The hotel staff was extremely kind and helpful, especially Deng. We enjoyed having plentiful bottled water available, as well as snacks and fruits we could take for a light breakfast before setting out for the day. The value for the hotel and the service, accommodations, and amenities it offered could not be beat. Communication with the hotel both before and during our stay was also seamless.

We liked everything and have no notes, but this would not be a good location if you are looking for a luxurious vacation. It is a home base that allows you to feel very comfortable in between exploring everything Chiang Mai has to offer.

Such a cute family run hotel. Located in the heart of Old Town it was a short walk to see temples, go shopping, to restaurants, and bars with live music. We got in early and dropped off our luggage and they had brought it up to the room by the time we returned. There is no elevator but if you are elderly and can’t carry your bag up the stairs just ask them to help, they are so nice! We had the Villa room with two bedrooms, three beds, and two bathrooms. There were snacks and water in our room and the bathrooms were well equipped. We didn’t pay extra for the breakfast but there was coffee and tea in both our room and the lobby. There was also bread/butter/jam for toast and some snacks in the lobby. The best part was that if you put your laundry in a basket outside your door in the morning they will wash, fold, and return it by 6:00 PM the same day- for free!

First of all, the hotel is owned and managed by 3 family members - sisters 'A' and Jern and A's husband Kong. They were beyond hospitable from the moment we arrived. The facilities were extremely clean and well taken care of. Our room was far better than anything we expected. It was spacious, clean, and looked brand new. The hotel offered complimentary laundry service, plus drinks and snacks in the lobby 24/7. We stayed 5 nights and were sad to leave! The location could not have been better as we were right in the center square of Old City Chiang Mai. It was on a quiet street surrounded by restaurants and shops everywhere. 'A' was always greeting us and offering lots of information for things to do in the area, including suggesting a great night listening to her friend's jazz band at a local bar.

There was NOTHING we did not like.

This place was perfect. Friendly welcome, staff so kind and attentive. The hotel was spotlessly, gleamingly clean. We had racks at the front door to leave our shoes and they let us choose (and keep) a pair of brand new slippers. Every hotel we stayed at had a laundry service - here it was free, they gave is a laundry basket, leave it outside the door in the morning, back the same day. 24/7 snacks, tea, coffee in reception. Really not sure how they provide such a great quality service for the price - if we were going back to Chiang Mai we wouldn’t look anywhere else.

There is nothing we would change about this hotel, it was perfect for us.

The hotel is perfectly located for exploring Chiang Mai old town. It was steps away from the night market and from many lovely restaurants. The staff was incredible and offered advice and help with sites and bookings. The complimentary snacks offered on a 24-hour basis was greatly appreciated, as was the laundry service. The reviews are legit and this hotel deserves the high ratings it gets! I don’t believe we’ve ever stayed at a hotel as clean as Villa Thai Orchid and would definitely recommend this accommodation for anyone planning a stay in Chiang Mai.

We loved everything!

This is a great hotel with the friendliest staff I have yet encountered. It is spotlessly clean in every nook and cranny and the owner(s) clearly take pride in the quality of their establishment. They have a well-stocked snack area that guests can graze throughout the day that includes fruit, toast, yogurt, cereal, juice, water, tea and coffee. There are many locally-recommended restaurants nearby that are quite good and I tried most of them. This place is A+!!

The only consideration I had was that the WiFi was intermittent and slow. While this probably wouldn't be a consideration for most casual users, I had trouble working from my room. The WiFi disconnected and reconnected constantly, making remote work difficult. I hesitated stating this but it may be a concern for any digital nomads. There are a few really good Co-Work spaces with fast Internet nearby, though.

The hospitality and friendliness of the staff was perhaps the best I've experienced in all of my travels. Additionally the cleanliness of the hotel, laundry service and common area where snacks, coffee and tea were always available was brilliant. Also a thanks to the staff for the birthday wishes which were a huge surprise and very much appreciated. without doubt I'd stay here again on my next visit to Chiang Mai.

Nothing, wish all of my stays were as exceptional as this.

I doubt that I will be able to reproduce in words how beautiful the accommodation was and how well we felt here: 1.- From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with extreme warmth by the owners and the receptionist. 2.- The location is exceptional, right in the old center. To the right, at 600 meters the Saturday Night Market, and to the left at about 200 meters the Sunday Night Market. 3.-The cleanliness is exceptional both in the common areas and in the room, 4.-Water, juices, yogurt, biscuits available for free at the reception all day long 5.- The room is immaculate, very clean. New sheets and towels, safe, air conditioning, bacon, etc. 6.- Very good, hearty breakfast that you have to choose the night before from a number of 4-5 options; 7.-free laundry for clothes from one day to another. 8.- And last but not least, an unbeatable price. We wholeheartedly recommend Villa Thai Orchid. Thank you and we hope to come back as soon as possible!
