Perfect! After spending in several different places in Thailand, this was our favorite. Everywhere else had lots of good things, but would have one or two things off. On Thapae did everything right! Check in was quick & easy. At first, I had hoped to stay on the first or second floor to avoid the elevator. We were on the fourth floor, and the views were great! We also never had to wait for the elevator. The first floor only has a few rooms, and the rest have eight. I don't think it was totally booked out since this was during the shoulder season, but it still never felt busy. We'd see some people at breakfast and here or there. Speaking of breakfast, it was great! The best I've had in Asia so far. They had pastries, fruit, and more, and there was always a different hot dish too. One of my favorite things is they have water bottles and refill stations on each floor. There is a refrigerator in the lobby area that always has plenty of cold water bottles and fruit. There is also coffee and snacks available at all times. The room was a good size, and everything felt very clean & new. Bed was comfy, and the wifi was strong. The staff was always kind & welcoming as well. I highly recommend booking here!

We had a fabulous stay at the hotel, it was very clean and well kept. The entire team was incredibly warm, welcoming, accommodating and super helpful. It was refreshing to see sustainable initiatives incorporated here with free water refills on all floors, bamboo slippers, built-in dispensers for shower gel and shampoo and minimally packaged soap coins for hand soap amongst other things. The breakfast assortment was simple yet delicious with both sweet and savory options. The swift laundry service returned our clothes with a lovely fragrance. Located in a central spot, the hotel was conveniently away from the noise and yet close to the hustle and bustle of this charming city. Although we were sad to leave, we were pleased with our experience and look forward to staying here on our next visit.

Absolutely loved our stay here, cannot recommend enough! Well located just a little few mins outside the city walls, lovely and quiet location. Pool was clean and refreshing. We spent 3 nights in a twin room which was spacious and so comfortable! Staff were great and so helpful. We decided to extend our stay, we had to move to a double room, staff moved all our belongings for us, organised some laundry in 24hrs too. Breakfast was basic but tasty - toast, scrambled & fried eggs, sausage plus rice & local dish. Good coffee, alternative milk available plus yoghurt and fruit. Don’t hesitate booking, there’s nothing to dislike about this hotel!

The location was great and close to the main attractions. The house cleaning was consistent. The staff were super friendly.

The air conditioning was not easy to operate and a bit annoying. Also the shower would always leak.

It's a small property in the middle of a quiet neighborhood but still very close to Thapae Gate and the markets and restaurants. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are a good size and very comfortable bed. The wide windows make the rooms bright and airy. The airconditioner was working very well. Big bath and toilet with necessary toiletries. Breakfast was basic but was still quite filling. We appreciate the free water refilling station, and the 24/7 available free coffee and tea with a jar of biscuits in the dining area. We also appreciate that they let us use the bowls and utensils for our food delivery. The pool is small but good enough to take a dip for relaxation. The staff, especially at the front desk, are all so pleasant and helpful! All in all, I would stay in On Thapae whenever I would go back to Chiang Mai. Highly recommended!

We loved our stay here at ON Thapae Gate Chiangmai. The staff were very welcoming and kind. The staff were happy to organize a driver for us with short notice ie, to Doi Suthep Temple, Dantewada Land of Angels Waterfall Park, sticky waterfalls, etc. The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast each morning with company from the cute street cats! The location is convenient and a short walk to the Sunday market on Thapae walking street. Overall a very nice hotel, reasonal price, quiet location, and lovely staff. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Chiang Mai!

Need to improve on the toilet/bath as the water splashes to the entire bath because the wall is not enough to block it.

This hotel was really good value for the price. We especially loved the fact that we could sleep with window open (just used the aircon to cool down the room each night) as well as the open reception/communal space where breakfast is served). All areas were very clean and room was cleaned daily (there is a sign you can activate in your room) and/or ask the very friendly staff. Breakfast is more than ok for the price. We took an additional coffee in the morning at Somewhere Espresso(a must if you cherish good coffee and a 5min walk from hotel). Location is very central however really quiet. We stayed 3 nights in total and definitely recommend.

The bathroom smell which obviously is s.th. the staff can’t change. After turning on the light in the bathroom thus activating ventilation the smell was almost gone.

Location excellent. No noisy bars or night-life problems. All bars, etc, in easy walking distance. Breakfast was basic but as displayed. Plenty to eat. One thing, no hot water in sink for shaving, no fan only air-con, would have loved a miror in the bedroom as the bathroom was dark. Not really big issues for us, just observations. The guests were from all over and different ages. We are seniors, and this was perfect. Easy walk to everything.

Nothing really, the photo's on booking.com are accurate. We did wonder about the pool location. However, once b'fast was over, there was no one around.

A new small hotel just outside of the old city (touristic area) and in a walking distance. It’s located in an internal street so very quite most of the time. When in the room you can be very quite but if outside you’ll hear the cars driving the small streets next to the hotel (it’s the case for any property in the city) I could walk to most of the main places I wanted to see and the staff was very helpful with any question I had (make sure to ask where is walking street every day since it changes) Breakfast is simple with some eggs local Thai dish (changes everyday) some veggies and fruits. Simple but covers you for breakfast. Overall had a very good stay with them and even came back for a second stay after traveling around the area.

Couldn’t check me in at 13:15 and asked to come back at 14:00 Just annoying but oh well
