I LOVED my room because it was on the 1st floor with direct private access to the pool from my patio. That ALONE made this hotel worth the visit and would bring me back again, despite any of the other short comings. If I didn't have that room I wouldn't bother with this hotel because that is really what made it awesome. The beds are also very comfortable and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They had a good selection for the buffet breakfast as well.

The fitness center is so baren that it's sort of a lie that they say they have one. Not to mention it doesn't open till 10am! So forget about any morning exercise before you start your day. The pool also doesn't open till 10am, which is just way too late. They said the late openings are to keep it quiet for guests, but 10 am is definetley over doing it. There isn't much hot water, just luke warm. I was excited to get to my next hotel and have a real hot shower. The drawers in the rooms are annoying because they are cheaply made, not on tracks. So you have to tug on them to get them open, and then the drawers sort of fall out at an angle because they're just loosly placed. Little things like that add up.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Vintae Thaoe Resort in Chiang Mai. The facilities are simply wonderful, surrounded by a beautiful and peaceful environment that makes the whole experience truly relaxing. The swimming pools are stunning and very well maintained — perfect for unwinding at any time of the day. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, . Another detail we really appreciated was that the amenities were replenished every single day, including coffee and wáter in the room, which was such a nice touch. If there was one small suggestion, it would be to add a few more hooks or hangers in the room for towels and swimwear — this would make it even more convenient. But honestly, that is just a minor detail compared to the overall wonderful experience.

Everything was perfect

The staff was so helpful. We needed a lot of help, heating up leftover food from our cooking class, switching rooms, getting a bed swapped. They helped so much, including bringing us a scale so that we can pack our luggage with the appropriate weights.

Lots of mosquitoes in the lobby. No elevator for my 85 year old Mom. We switched to a suite from a single room after the first night so that part of our group of six can stay together in one space, but the fourth bed was a futon and it just didn't work out because it caused back ache. We stayed for five nights.

Location was great felt like you were far away from the city but you weren’t old town was 5/ 10mins walk ..gardens were immaculate pool access room was great

Nothing not to dislike in my opinion

The staff and its hospitality makes the stay here extra special. I have been to various hotels in Chiangmai for the past 10 years and find them the best in terms of service, experienced night staff (no interns that don't know what to do aside from the usual procedural check-in) and above all else anticipation of needs. We traveled on a motorcycle tour and we like to have a hotel as a base when we do loops. So we have reservations every other day or two days, and just by knowing we are on a motorcycle tour, they have already arranged our check-in each time we come back, with our stored luggage already in our assigned rooms. They also arranged one of our party to stay in a ground floor more expensive suite for free, when they learned one of us had a fall and banged our knees, so we couldn't possibly climb the stairs to the 3rd floor. The hotel is a charming teak Lanna-style big house, so there were no elevators but the highest floor is the 3rd level.

Breakfast is typical of Chiangmai hotels, it would be great if there was some variation now and then. Bathrooms are excellent put had certain quirks. Sliding enclosure of the shower wouldn't stay shut and would always "bounce back" to open position, needs some adjustment. For the Deluxe Rooms, appreciate if the basin type sinks, had some extra wings, so we have a place to put our toiletries. We had to put them on top of the toilet tank beside it which is a bit rounded and not completely flat, and it can be unnerving if the times fall into the toilet, if one of us had to use it.

Loved our pool room and the location in general.

The breakfast options were quite limited especially for vegetarians. The staff were courteous but rather unhelpful in their suggestions or making any extra accommodations. In fact, we’d paid 3x for a pool facing room but were given something adjacent initially. Had to complain and have it reassigned. We stayed 4 nights and paid extra for early checkin but were still denied a later check out.

Room basically have no windows! As the only natural light you get from glass sliding door to the coridor you have to choose between privacy or daylight - our room was facing the stairs, so there was always someone walking by. Glass sliding door to the bathroom are nice to let a little bit of light from the shower window, but also reduce privacy as the toilet is right behind and you can see siluet of person sitting on the toilet and sliding door has bit of a gap all around so you get the sound as well. Pool water was cold, so not as usable as I would like to.

The hotel was in a great location around a 5 minute walk from the edge of the old walled city. Our family room was comfortable with two sleeping areas and a balcony, bathroom with a good shower and a bath. It was at the end of the wing so it was private with no one walking past us (and the other rooms didn't get a balcony). The hotel is beautiful and has two small pools which are large and deep enough to swim and cool off in - we really appreciated this after a morning cycling around the old city and after our visit to the elephants. Having two pools meant they were never too crowded, sometimes we were the only ones there. The hotel had a beautiful garden area with pond too which meant that it didn't feel cramped in next to other buildings and it was green.

Nothing.

We booked a family, executive suite which was situated on the corner of the first floor. The room itself was spacious and had everything we could have wanted for our comfort. Well stocked (and reasonably priced) mini fridge, robes, slippers, toiletries etc. We had a delightful private balcony which was perfect for reading and relaxing on and that overlooked the gardens, pond and pool. The entire stay was utterly peaceful and serene. The standard of cleanliness was unparalleled. The whole family spent hours relaxing in the pool area, which was pristine and the water so soft it was a delight. The location was fantastic, tucked away behind the main high streets we enjoyed the convenience of being only a few minutes walk from the day/nightlife as well as the peace and tranquility of the retreat. We stayed for only three nights, but could easily have made it a 2 week retreat to explore, swim, read and recharge. If we are ever back in this location that would become the plan because the experience was just a delight. Ignore last 6 photos! Am unable to remove from review.. these are not of the Viang Thapae..

Breakfast wasn’t good. The selection was minimal so it wasn’t good value for money. However, this really wasn’t an issue as there were so many lovely places to eat all within a 3-5 minute walk. The pool cafe did do sandwiches and fries during the day which were very nice. I can imagine that the ground floor rooms could be quite dark as the internal courtyard is the main natural light source for the rooms.
