Everything was amazing! The girls who work there are just great! So nice, so friendly, so helpful. They helped us book a rafting tour in the north of Chiang Mai and booked a bolt to the airport for us. So nice! The room was really nice and spacious. We did not know that our bathroom was open air (no roof above shower). Of course, this looks great but a bit stressy with insects. The pool is also a welcoming refreshment after a walk around then city. You are at the Tha Pae Gate in 2-3min by foot,, perfect to walk around the old town with no extra transportation necessary.

Either we did not figure out to turn the water of the shower warmer or the water simply is and stays rather cold. But that was not so bad.

What a lovely house! We stayed for 3 nights and we absolutely enjoyed it. Just one street parallel to the main street, but absolutely quiet and very beautiful with all the green and the pool. We had a kind of separate two-story apartment which was spacious and well maintained with more than sufficient space for us 4. Everything clean and good. And the pool was great for our boy! Location is fantastic with major sights and night market in walking distance. And the lovely ladies at the counter really made a difference, always so cheerful, happy and helpful. We would always go again and can only highly recommend it to everyone!!

Our family had a wonderful stay at Villa Thapae. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in a perfect location, just a short walk from Tha Pae Gate and many delicious restaurants. We loved the convenience of being able to walk to the night market and bring our food back to our room. The staff were very attentive and provided us with all the necessary utensils. The room was spotless and well-equipped. The small but clean pool was a big hit with our kid, who enjoyed swimming even on cooler days.

I can not find anything that I did not like. It was such a wonderful moment at this hotel. The staff was always friendly and helpful.

Cute little oasis just away from everything but close enough to walk into all the main areas. I didn’t have a scooter and walked everywhere and was fine. The girls on reception are so happy and helpful, they went above and beyond to find a way for me to get to Pai when everything was booked out. They send you lots of great tips via WhatsApp on things to do/ see and places to eat. The excellent communication is really what made the stay here so enjoyable

I didn’t use the pool as there was too many mosquitos and feels a bit exposing as it’s very small, but it’s a still nice feature of the property. There are windows on both sides of the room, so can can hear things either side, I had earplugs and slept with the air con on so was able to block out the noise

The aesthetic of the enclosed courtyard and pool is magnificent and serene. A sitting area so comfortable you could spend all day there. The location is ideal as 3 minutes from city centre by foot but located in a quiet area. It is a small establishment which gives the staff that “small family business” vibe, and they go above and beyond to make sure you have the best stay possible. Very nice also and willing to chat. The room itself was cool, comfortable and decently equipped - the balcony a nice touch. I simply adore this place, thanks guys!

Nothing really!

The staff was amazing at Villa Thapae!!! The hotel itself was stunning and in a great location, but the staff made it even better. They were so friendly and accommodating, and had great recommendations for my group. The beds were a little uncomfortable but everything else about our room was great. It is walking distance to the old city and also to other fun areas in Chiang Mai. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend anyone I know to stay here.

Uncomfortable bed

The accommodation exceeded our expectations. It was very spacious, clean and a fusion of modern and traditional. The staff were extremely professional, friendly and helpful. They absolutely went over and above to make our stay special. With a special mention to Koon!! Not only did they help celebrate my wife's birthday but even bought a card and gifts. Amazing, memorable and fun. Could not recommend enough to anyone travelling to Chang Mai. Perfect location 2mins from Tha Pae gate and Sunday walk in market. Although you are located amongst the throng of Chang Mai, surprisingly peaceful and quiet at night. A must for all intrepid travellers....with or without family!

The design of the hotel is great, a mini jungle with a pool in the middle. It's on a back road so the noise isn't too bad and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Laundry service was great, all amenities in the room worked and the open-air shower in my room was a nice novelty.

Our second stay here. Comfortable room. Everything you need for a stay in Chiang Mai. Close to everything. Pool was lovely in the hot weather. Staff are amazing. A peaceful (generally) and enjoyable place to stay. We will definitely be back!

Some guests who think it’s ok for their kids to run around and bomb in the pool. Really disrespectful to staff and other guests. Not the hotels fault but maybe some signage to deter this would be good.

Villa Thapae is an oasis! The yard with pool, chairs and beautiful Thai pergola within a garden is completely cozy and perfect to chill after a busy Chiang Mai sightseeing day/night. The staff is perfectly nice and wonderful. Rooms were top, furnished with attention to detail and great accessories. The bathroom on the 2nd floor featured an open sky shower, which was extraordinary. Location is 1A - perfect, quiet street and neighborhood, but still only 5-7 minutes to the borders of old town, markets, restaurants etc.

Nothing really. Only the mentioned community kitchen did not exist anymore, which didn't bother us. Great place!
