The breakfast was very good a nice selection of fresh fruits Fresh coffee juices & tea available All the ‘regular’ pastries for Europeans & toast machine The rice option was very tasty as were the beautifully presented freshly made omelets The staff were ALL exceptional friendly & excellent at their positions The grounds were beautifully planted with lush tropical fauna & flora A superb location right on the beach, perfect for water taxis to go on a private tour of the island & superb ‘Mr Kong’ with his knowledge of best places to snorkel & see turtles up close HIGHLY RECOMMENDED & a plus was a VERY short journey from the ferry port , the hotel taxi pick up was waiting for our arrival too

The room was very spacious as was the very comfortable bed HOWEVER the bathroom was not up to regular standard The shower had no warm / hot water on the second even& the sink I think was once nice when new but very worn & needed replacing

Great location, close to the pier but stil a very quiet and beautiful beach, very good breakfast, great and friendly staff, close to the beach, amazing swimming pool. Their restaurant (Ndiigo) is quit expensive, but absolutely fenominal. It can be hard to get a good pizza in Thailand, but Ndiigo restaurant does them exceptionally well! A must try!!

The staff at the reception was a bit unfriendly and impatient during check-in and check-out.

The staff was absolutely adorable. Everybody was very friendly and helpful. All our queries were answered with utmost diligence and always with a smile. The location is great. Direct access to the sea; three minute walk to the pier and the village. The swimming pool is large enough to go for a good swim. The restaurant offers a large variety of Thai and Italian food that can be enjoyed on the beach.

The air condition in room 219 broke down many times. Staff was quick to repair. But it broke down time and again. There was a permanent, unpleasant stench of mustiness in the room. Eventually, all our clothes had that smell. The WiFi works well in the room but is very unreliable at the poolside.

Great location to walk around the pier area and Sairee beach. Staff by the pool and reception were very friendly and helpful. We had a big room with a nice balcony overlooking the pool area. The hotel never felt crowded or too busy and it was a good base to explore Koh Tao centre :) For us it worked well to combine a more remote, beachy accommodation with Montra to experience different locations while staying on the island.

The music - rather than listening to remixes of international hits I would listen to thai music or no music at all! The waves would make a perfect background noise. The worst was christmas songs at breakfast in the end of January! I also discovered some red marks that look like bed bug bites after leaving.

This was our first visit to Koh Tao and the location of the Montra Resort was perfect. It was right on the beach and close to the main area where a lot of shops and restaurants are, so it was easy to walk to most places when needed. The pool is great and with lots of loungers, it was the perfect place to relax for the day. The rooms very big and spacious and lots of cupboard space and a huge comfortable bed. The staff were amazing and the resort offers free transfers from and to the main pier where the ferry's are. The day we left they even sent extra staff to help carry our bags to the check in at the pier, amazing service. The resort has a resident diving school that can arrange all your diving needs, we used their services for a full day snorkeling trip around the island. This was in a "long tail" boat that was dedicated to us for the day and they took us to all the best sites to snorkel at, it was the highlight of our holiday.

I don't think there was anything we didn't like at this resort, the only small comment I can make is on the coffee at breakfast, although it was good brewed coffee, there weren't options for something like a cappuccino or latte at breakfast, nothing serious.

A shame the swim up bar was under renovations. Took away from the poolside experience. Otherwise everything was fantastic

Koh Tao Montra Resort was absolutely amazing and we enjoyed our stay in this resort very much. Beach villa was newly renovated and very comfortable. Also food was very delicious. One of the advantageous for divers is that the resort has its own diving centre so you can easily book and arrange your dives without necessity to visit other diving centres. All diving instructors were very helpful and good company. We definitely wish to come back as soon as possible.

Everything was just perfect. The hotel may only consider offering more dishes for kids in its restaurant on the second floor. The food there was really great, but some kids may find it difficult to choose something there.

The place is beautiful, the pool is awesome, the room is awesome! Great location and breakfast.

Music at the pool was too loud/unnecessary. It would be playing even when no one was there and you could hear it from the rooms. There were some large tour groups coming through or other inconsiderate guests making noise late into the night. The wifi is horrible. There is plenty of good wifi on the island. They have so many networks and not one of them works, even in the common areas. Can’t get cell reception in the building either, so it makes it really difficult to make up for the wifi.

Beautiful well maintained property on the edge of all the action so very quiet. Easy walk in two directions for bars and restaurants but both are right here and excellent. Very generous breakfast with lots of Thai and Western choices. And All the staff fantastic from the front desk, the restaurants, the cleaners and the pool guys Lots of loungers around the pool with swim up bar and someone there eager to help. Beach right there for a dip in the warm cleanish water. We extended our stay and will be back. Heather.*****
