Location was brilliant so close to old town with several cafes near by. The bus for the airport can be caught immediately outside of the hotel. Staff were helpful in pointing this out to us. Nothing was too much trouble and staff were very friendly. Good buffet dinner served in the evening but only on certain days of week. Breakfast was good with nice choice of different foods. Both were very good value for money.

The decor was a bit dated and bathroom needed modernising. That said the showers was very powerful if not a bit old fashioned.

The rooms are large and very nice. We had a king size bed with lots of pillows. Even an extra little table in the room which we like. Also likes having a fridge and a safe in the room. We enjoyed the pool although there are no steps, just a ladder to get in and out. Everything seemed very clean and well tended to

There was a great little restaurant across the street but not too many others nearby. However it was only a 15 minute walk into Old Town Phuket.

The room was very comfortable as was the bed, overall the hotel was clean and well appointed. The meals whilst tasty lacked in variety. We found the pool to be very nice and enjoyed hours of peace there. The staff were very helpful and friendly but reserved. We will be back to stay at the Merlin.

The meals could definitely have more variety, there was a Captains bar that was never open and could only get a cocktail during happy hour, when we asked for a drink got told "you missed happy hour" and couldn't get a drink.

Hotel was good, but picked this hotel more for it’s location to get to Phuket Old town, as It was only a short walking distance. The main Central Festival shopping mall was about 2.5km walking distance!

Phuket in general, this place is not for me! Everything’s overpriced and all the sightseeing is far to spread out which is a killer when it comes to traveling between because there’s far too much traffic and it takes ages to get anywhere!

Hotel is in a good location and really handy for the shops ,bars and nightlife just a short walk away The pool is lovely Hotel was easy to find

Breakfast was ok but we had to really persist to have an omelette cooked fresh Little details would have improved our stay - we had to ask for drinking water for our room, we had to ask for poolside towels

Room was comfortable and very clean, quiet, beds good, bathroom a bit dated but fine. Pool looked good, though didn't use it. Overall good value for money in Phuket

Front desk staff were a bit short (but they were busy), location a (hot) 15 minute walk to the old town, nothing in the immediate vicinity. Ended up getting grab motorbike (40 baht) to avoid this!

Staffs (except for the lady who is a manager) could be nicer to thai customers. The manager alone seems to understand what client service is about. Moreover some people on the floor where I stayed were allowed to smoke weeds. The smell was so disgusting for a few days.

Everything was good, specially spacious room & friendly staff

We have booked three rooms, on of them have started very strong damp smell coming out of the air con unit at night so they have moved one of my friend to another room and that was okay. Also we had to take care when using the lifts as it's doors closes so quick that I struck in between 2-3 times.

Very convenient for walk to Old Town Phuket and the Vachira Hospital where I was attending.

Pool was quite small and went into the shade from about 14:00 for the remainder of the day. It was clean but looked like it needed a revamp.

Merlin hotel is a very good budget stay for Phuket Old town. It’s located quite near the central area about 10 min walk and it’s in a quiet area. The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was also good with great water pressure and hot water. Staff were really nice and we enjoyed the fruits and banana bread at breakfast.

The hotel is very old so of course don’t expect any modern designs or new feel to the room/facilities.
