Lovely authentic hotel located in the best area of Göreme, very close to the center but still quiet and cozy. Our room was very comfortable, spacious, with local color and design. The room was cleaned every day, bedding and towels were changed. The view from the terraces is breathtaking, and to watch the flight of hot air balloons, you do not need to run anywhere at 5 am, you can just go out in your pajamas on the balcony of the hotel. Staying in the cave is a great way to experience the uniqueness of Cappadocia. The breakfast was delicious, fresh produce with local flavor of wonderful Turkish cuisine, the view from the breakfast room is stunning. The hotel is run by a family who do everything to make guests feel part of this lovely family. Metin is a great professional, from the moment we arrived he did everything possible and impossible to make our weekend perfect and unforgettable. He booked a hot air balloon ride for us with one of the best companies, which was just perfectly organized and which we will remember for a lifetime. He also booked us dinner at one of the most authentic restaurants in Göreme and was happy to help with any questions we had. If you are reading this review, book soon without hesitation, you won't find better value for money.

We would love to stay longer

Everything! The family manages the property. They are warm, welcoming, and accommodating. The location is impeccable, a less than 5-minute walk from the main street. We asked for an early check-in. The suite was ready and stocked with coffee and fruits. The breakfast was exceptional, with a la carte and buffet options. The rooms are super cozy and have a fantastic view (see the pictures). Shila and Mars are the host puppies, and they are adorable! Hassan, the owner, was kind enough to tour us to local pottery (@kybeleboutiqueceramic), the Avanos carpet-making cooperative known as Sentez Avanos Hali - Rug Workshop & Store (@avanoshali), and Love Valley in Cappadocia where we were lucky to see the last full moon rise for 2023. Hassan and the two dogs bid us adieu as we left for Istanbul in the wee hours of the 29th. Thank you Hassan, Zehra, and Metin, "the cousin".

Staying In a cave hotel was a unique and one of the best experiences. The room we stayed in had a lot of charm with seating niche areas and a hot tub/bath tub. The cave hotel is uphill and offers fantastic views from the terrace on Goreme and the hot air balloons. It takes 5min to go down to the centre which is very convenient and a good exercise to come back.

Breakfast was good but could have started earlier than 8:30

This is the best hotel in Cappadocia! The room, location, view, and staff were outstanding, and the view and breakfast was great. Waking up to a magical view was truly special. My family suite was amazing and faultless. Göreme below can be crowded, but when you’re at this hotel, it feels peaceful and secluded from the hustle and bustle. It offers free parking, and the trek to the nearby restaurant delicison food and had breathtaking views. This hotel is perfect for families; you won’t regret choosing it. It’s spacious enough for our family in the two-bedroom suite.

Nothing all perfect

I spent about two weeks choosing a hotel, and I needed a cave room with two bedrooms, a nice terrace, breakfast, and no smell of sewage in the room. This hotel turned out to be the perfect choice. I would like to start by mentioning the hotel staff: it’s a family business, and these people truly love their guests and do everything to ensure comfort. They answered all our questions and were very eager to help with everything. They were incredibly helpful with booking new transportation and late check-in since our flight was canceled due to fog. Location and terrace for watching hot air balloons: The hotel has a nice terrace with a great view, but even better, it’s just a 3-5 minute walk to the luxurious Sunset/Sunrise viewpoint. The hotel is also no more than 5 minutes from the central streets. The location is fantastic. The room exceeded all expectations: It was clean, warm, but you could always open the window to let in some fresh air if it got too hot. The bathroom was spacious and clean, with no smell of sewage, as mentioned in reviews of many other hotels. Overall, the room had a pleasant scent, and it was cleaned regularly. The beds were comfortable, and I slept wonderfully. Breakfast is served on the terrace with a view. The hotel has several dogs. The owners told us about their personalities – the dogs roam freely and do not disturb the guests. I highly recommend this hotel to all travellers who are looking for a comfortable, peaceful stay in a fantastic location and who appreciate the care of the hosts, clean rooms, and great sleep!! - Dedicated parking spot – a rare and valuable feature in Goreme. - Family-run hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. And two masively super cute Chow Chows. - Delicious and varied Turkish-style breakfast with great quality. - Incredible panoramic views of Cappadocia. And yes, you can see the air balloons during sunrise! - Beautiful (I mean amazingly beautiful hotel) Cappadocia cave-style facade. - Relatively easy to get to, though roads are narrow (normal for Goreme).

Nothing major that would be a dealbreaker, but small suggestions: - WiFi is nonexistent, especially in the bathroom. We stayed at Panoroma room. Phone reception is also not usable. - Could use more outdoor ambient lighting at night to enhance the atmosphere. Especially near the car park. I mean, the cave facade is unbelievably pretty, it should be flaunted with lighting. It would be absolutely stunning at night. Just imagine adding facade lighting to my photo below. Wouldn’t it feel like fairytale? - Parking access requires honking for staff – key cards would be better. - Noise carries easily if people talk outside (but this is common in cave hotels). And people really really do chat loudly and for long outside. If you’re a light sleeper, please consider.

Our family (2 adults/2 kids aged 11 & 13) wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Amber Cave Suites. The room, with separate beds for our kids, was perfect for our family. We were able to watch the balloons each morning from the little terrace in front of our room & the breakfast area had sweeping views of the valley & Goreme town. The staff - Metin, Hassan & others - were lovely & helped us arrange a wonderful balloon flight with the skillful Voyager balloons. So glad we organized it well ahead of time as the flights were cancelled the two mornings before our arrival which meant the availability & prices skyrocketed! They also helped organize a private highlight tour. The hotel is in a great location - a short but steep walk to all the restaurants & cafes in Goreme town. We were also able to walk the 1km or so to the Goreme Open Air Museum. My daughter really appreciated the little souvenirs Hassan gave her as we left & the fruit basket & Cappadocian wine were a lovely welcoming touch!

The WiFi in the room wasn’t great but we were staying in a cave so that’s completely understandable. Not the hotels fault per se but beware of the inclusion of rug, pottery or onyx shops on the tours - we much prefer actually seeing the sights instead of wasting precious time getting a hard sell. At least having a private tour meant we were in control a little more & could cut this aspect short.

This place is an absolute gem! I looked at so many accommodation choices in Goreme before finally deciding on this hotel. 200% recommend it! The property is so lovely and welcoming, tucked in a quiet area a little higher up in Goreme but still close enough to the main street. Our charming cave suite was great, the amenities were plentiful, it was very comfortable and the whirlpool tub was such a treat after a day of exploring. The breakfast spread was a huge selection of tasty dishes. I especially loved the fresh pomegranates! And the view from the breakfast area was beautiful! To top all of this, the staff are truly wonderful! From the moment we booked, their communication with us was always super fast and caring. Metin and Ali and the gentleman looking after our breakfast provided such excellent service that exceeded our expectations. They also booked our balloon flight and everything went smoothly. Lastly, I left my jacket at the hotel and they were very responsive and went out of their way to ship it to my home in Canada! Am so truly grateful as it was a new jacket that I bought specifically for the trip. I cannot thank Amber Cave Suites enough for giving me and my husband such wonderful memories of Cappadocia! If we ever go back to Goreme, we will for sure stay here again!

The location is perfect and very picturesque. In the morning, the view with all the balloons filling the sky is stunning.The breakfast is very good, and the breakfast room has nice big windows, allowing the guests to enjoy a beautiful view with their food. You can book trips and a balloon flight directly from the reception. They also offer private shuttle to/from the airport. The rooms are beautiful, traditional but fully functional and comfortable. Best of all, they have 2 adorable dogs, and it's a family owned business. We really enjoyed our stay.
