We had an amazing stay at Avilla Cave Hotel ! The host (Metin), who is also the owner, was incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience, offering fantastic recommendations on places to visit in the area. The breakfast was delicious, with a great variety of fresh and tasty options to start the day. The location is perfect—just a short two-minute walk to breathtaking viewpoints overlooking Göreme and the hot air balloons. If you’re looking for a cozy stay with great hospitality, stunning views, and a perfect location, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful stay at Avilla Cave Hotel, thanks to the exceptional hospitality of the owner, Metin. He went above and beyond to ensure our visit was memorable, even arranging a last-minute balloon ride in the stunning Ihlara Valley after our Cappadocia rides were canceled three days in a row. The location of the hotel is perfect—just a short 10-minute walk to shopping and restaurants, and right by a scenic lookout area where you can enjoy breathtaking sunsets and sunrises. The Turkish breakfast was a feast, offering a wide variety of delicious options, and Metin’s wife kindly prepared vegetarian soups and vegetable puffs to cater to our dietary preferences. The thoughtfulness extended to allowing us a late checkout when we returned later than expected and letting us relax in the cozy reception area until our evening airport taxi arrived. Metin’s warm hospitality made our experience unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

Everything about it was amazing. The one thing that stood out the most was the host. Mr Metin was so so helpful from the time we booked until we left. He loves what he is doing and you can tell. He helped us book everything and assisted us in every way. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. If you go to Cappadocia you need to stay there! You will get the whole experience. Location is amazing as well. They offer nice breakfast and will offer drinks after hours of breakfast as well. The nice thing about this hotel is that you get the best of both worlds. You still get the luxurious, cave vibe of cappadocia but you also get a glimpse into the local life and traditions.

This small family run cave hotel is located at one of the highest points in Goreme with exceptional views, especially from the upper terrace. It’s a 5 minute walk up to the best hot air balloon viewpoint. The cave room we stayed in was very nice and very spacious with a huge bathroom. The room felt/smelled a little bit damp but that is normal for a cave room and did not bother us. Breakfast was simple but good with a different variety every day. But the best part of this hotel is the hospitality. The couple who run this hotel are super friendly and work tirelessly to take care of every guest’s needs. They arranged the hot air balloon ride for us in advance at a very fair price with the best company (max 16 in a basket). Upon arrival they arranged tours, gave us restaurant recommendations and made reservations. They also take time to just have a nice chat while drinking a nice Turkish coffee. This personal touch made our experience in Cappadocia even more magical. We arrived as guests and left as friends! Thank you!

Everything was perfect!

The owner and staff are amazing. Before arriving, I have messaged the hotel many times with all kinds of questions regarding to tours, transportation, and car rental. They always respond very quickly with helpful information. Upon arrival, we were late, after 9PM for sure, the owner and staff were waiting for us outside of the door, the owner helped us with tours and car rental via Whatsapp until about 11:30 pm, and even apologized for not responding right away due to having a late dinner! With the owner's help, we were able to have a hot air balloon ride on the only day that is available during our stay, car rental was also a smooth process. We were able to pick up and drop off the car at our hotel! There are more to say, but this is getting too long. The conclusion is that the owner and staff are amazing in every way! Also, the location is great, it's tiring to climb the hill every time coming back,but it's behind the gate to the sunrise/sunset view point, which means we can enjoy the most amazing hot air balloon view and city view for free! Also, the hotel itself looks better in person than the pictures we see online, that's another pleasant surprise!

The bathtub is a little dated if I must pick one, but we really didn't have time to have a bathtub anyway

I had an excellent stay at this hotel. The rooms were exactly as shown in the pictures—clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. What truly made the experience exceptional was the hospitality. Mr. Metin, the manager, was incredibly helpful throughout our trip. He not only arranged city tours for us but also gave fantastic local recommendations that made our visit even more memorable. His wife, who prepares breakfast each morning, served us delicious homemade meals that we looked forward to every day. I've stayed in many hotels before, but the warmth and personal care we received here truly stood out. This was, by far, the best hospitality I’ve ever experienced.

Staying at this cave hotel was one of the highlights of my trip. From the moment I arrived, everything was exceptional. The hotel itself is carved into the rock, offering a unique and atmospheric experience while still providing modern comforts. The rooms were spotless and beautifully designed-the blend of tradition and luxury was done perfectly. One of the standout features is its location. It’s just a short walk to a nearby lookout point where you can watch the hot air balloons rise at sunrise. Watching the sky fill with dozens of colorful balloons while standing above the valleys was truly magical — and being able to reach that view so easily was a huge bonus. The breakfast each morning was outstanding. Everything was fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared. A wide variety of local items were offered, and it was clear that real care was taken in the presentation and quality. Most importantly, the hospitality was exceptional. Metin, the owner, went above and beyond to make sure every guest felt welcome and cared for. He was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in helping us make the most of our time in the region — whether it was arranging tours, recommending places to eat, or just checking in to see how our stay was going. The hotel also helped us arrange local tours, and it made a big difference. We booked both the Red and Green Tours directly through them — not only was it incredibly convenient, but the prices were noticeably cheaper than what we found online. Everything was well-organized, with knowledgeable guides and comfortable transport. As for the hot air balloon ride, Metin explained that prices can vary depending on demand and availability, which was really helpful to know in advance. He gave us honest advice and helped us find a reputable company at a fair rate. Having that kind of support made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Metin was an absolutely incredible host, always going above and beyond for us. He made us feel incredibly welcome, from Turkish tea on arrival to an umbrella escort to our room when the rain came. He was so helpful in organising any and all activities we were interested in, even calling each place to get us better deals. The room and rooftop terrace were incredible and the view is spectacular. Additionally, the location of the hotel allows for free access up to the (otherwise ticketed) main viewpoint. Breakfast was wonderful too. If you’re coming to Cappadocia, you need to stay in Göreme - and if you’re coming to Göreme, you need to stay with Metin at Avilla Cave Hotel!

Our family had a great stay at this location was. The host Mehtin and his wife Moya are two of the nicest most helpful hosts I have ever met. Mehtin greeted us every day when we returned from sightseeing,always around and helpful.Their hospitality was awesome. The family room was comfortable and clean. The value for this hotel is excellent. The location is perfect. The hotel is set past the entrance to sunset point so you are not charged the entrance fee. Walk up the hill a bit more and the views are spectacular of this truly unique and beautiful landscape. Our family really enjoyed our stay and Mehtin helped us to dig deep into the culture and history of Capadoccia. We were made to feel like we were staying with family!

An excellently located hotel. Mr Mertin & his staff were fabulous. The room was an authentic cave room, with a magnificent bathroom. The breakfast was the best I had in Turkey, a lovely, different variety each day, bless the hands that made the meal! The location was top tier with breathtaking views off the Hot Air balloons & a stones throw away from the heart of the fantasy town of Gerome. Everything was perfect. Mr Mertin & staff can also organise transfers to & from the airport. The shared transfers work out even cheaper at around 250 lira per person. They helped us with a lot of extra things, fabulous staff.

Nothing to complain about, I wish I could go back.
