We had an amazing stay at Avilla Cave Hotel ! The host (Metin), who is also the owner, was incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience, offering fantastic recommendations on places to visit in the area. The breakfast was delicious, with a great variety of fresh and tasty options to start the day. The location is perfect—just a short two-minute walk to breathtaking viewpoints overlooking Göreme and the hot air balloons. If you’re looking for a cozy stay with great hospitality, stunning views, and a perfect location, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Our overall experience was excellent! From the moment we booked, our host, Metin, was incredibly attentive and hands-on. He responded quickly to all our questions and helped us arrange everything—hot air balloon rides, various tours, and even the Turkish night—at very reasonable prices, much cheaper than what we found online. Metin also went the extra mile to check on us before our scheduled activities each day, often offering complimentary drinks or snacks before we headed out. He truly made sure we enjoyed our stay and felt well taken care of. The hotel itself is perfectly located in the town of Goreme, just a short walk from one of the viewpoints as well as many restaurants and coffee shops, making it an ideal base for exploring the area. The breakfast was also superb, with a wide variety of delicious options every morning. We would highly recommend Avilla Cave Hotel to our friends and family!

Prompt and easy communication with the hotel owner, Metin. He arranged our tours and a surprise welcome to help me celebrate my wife's birthday. He provided helpful background information about the history and culture of Goreme which we appreciate very much. We had an enjoyable, comfortable and memorable stay. Breakfast was varied each day and delicious. Staff were very warm, friendly, polite and accommodating. The location of the hotel was perfect, only a short hike to the sunset panoramic viewing of Goreme and spectacular views hot air balloon scenery at sunrise. Close and convenient walk to the town center. Overall we are happy with our cave hotel stay and experience.

We had a wonderful stay at Avilla Cave Hotel, thanks to the exceptional hospitality of the owner, Metin. He went above and beyond to ensure our visit was memorable, even arranging a last-minute balloon ride in the stunning Ihlara Valley after our Cappadocia rides were canceled three days in a row. The location of the hotel is perfect—just a short 10-minute walk to shopping and restaurants, and right by a scenic lookout area where you can enjoy breathtaking sunsets and sunrises. The Turkish breakfast was a feast, offering a wide variety of delicious options, and Metin’s wife kindly prepared vegetarian soups and vegetable puffs to cater to our dietary preferences. The thoughtfulness extended to allowing us a late checkout when we returned later than expected and letting us relax in the cozy reception area until our evening airport taxi arrived. Metin’s warm hospitality made our experience unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

We loved the unique experience that the place and hotel had to offer. First time we ever stayed in a cave room which was comfortable and made us sleep really well. Thumbs up to Metin and family who were very warm and helpful in many ways He helped us with the tours which we really enjoyed. The Hotair Balloon with the butterfly tours is one for the books and I highly recommended. He also made a pleasant surprise to me and my family which made our birthday celebration even more memorable. Avilla Cave is centrally located at the heart of Goreme. You have places to see around or simply enjoy viewing the sunset from the deck. We also enjoyed our breakfast spread which was good and with a lot of choices. Our morning to evening was a knockout.

Enjoyed a true cave hotel experience with Avilla. A big shout to Mr Metin, Burak, Cena and his team for exceptional hospitality and going beyond just the stay. Thank you Mr Metin for helping us organise the tours specially Hot air balloon experience and recommending restaurants to enjoy local food. Delicious breakfast in a cosy setting every morning. The location is perfect with great view of the town from the rootop, close to Goreme Sunset/ Sunrise point. The room was perfect for a family with big rooms. Downtown is 7 min walk from the hotel.

Housekeeping could be done better.

Before commenting on the hotel itself, I want to say, Metin is a fabulous host! He is not only running a hotel here, but welcoming and taking care of his guests like welcoming friends to his city! His English is fluent which makes communication really easy, and he even gave us a ride to explore the next city, Nevsehir, on our last day in Cappadocia, as he was on his way there for some personal business. Lovely Turkish buffet style breakfast, with choices of a few hot items, various bread, nuts and olives, eggs and hams, sweet and savory, and choices of juice, tea, milk, and coffee. It is perfect before starting adventures in the region everyday. We were there in the summer, brutal sun, dry weather, super hot... but our room is spacious, cool, very comfortable, with a shaded front porch allowing us to sit outside comfortably to use wifi and relax. The terraces are shaded, but not as cool as our shaded front porch as they are hit by the sun directly :P but one can enjoy the breeze and view. Location-wise is very nice! We can go up to the "Cappadocia Sunset Point" as many times as we like, without paying extra, which we didn't know before booking. It is just 5-10 mins walk to the downtown / bus terminal. Not bad at all. Staff there are super helpful, although they don't speak much English, they are helping guests proactively. Always make sure we have water to drink XD Kudos to them! And, Metin helped us to book reasonable priced tours and arranged with those tours and pickups! Saved us lots of headaches XD as language is a big barrier there... Last but not least, lovely to have met Metin's family too! Thank you for the box of Turkish Delights! Hope we'll meet each other again one day.

The bathroom is big, but please place a shelf near the shower place. :) Wifi reception in our room is weak... possibly because it is deep inside the stone...

The hotel and our room were wonderfully quiet, and beautifully furnished. The location is perfect: a short easy walk to the town centre and up the slight hill to the sunset/sunrise view. The views from the hotel's many terraces are also amazing - in fact, at 5am on our first morning, from our terrace we saw balloons drop down low into Goreme, which was thrilling, Breakfast was an impressive spread, with the most delicious menemen I had across our Turkey travels. Metin, the owner, is a really lovely, fun guy who made us feel at home. We would give this a score of 11 or more if we could.

Nothing at all - everything was genuinely perfect

The room is in a cave, spacious with 4 beds. The place is clean and has 4 chairs and a desk area too. Temperature is comfortable to stay in a cave. Metin of Avilla cave gives us a warm sincere welcome and gives good suggestions of places to visit. He books the balloon tours, green tour for us with a reliable travel agency. The breakfast in the morning is homemade style, he specifically prepares Asia noodles and rice for Asia travellers. He even prepares a breakfast for us to take to airport for early flight. And leave us a special Turkish treat for us to bring good memories back home. This makes our stay really comfortable. We will definitely come back to stay when we visit Cappadocia again.

Our host, Mertin, was remarkably kind and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience. He provided valuable recommendations on local attractions and activities, helping us make the most of our time in Cappadocia. When I fell ill during our stay, Mertin’s thoughtfulness shone through as he offered to bring me soup to help me feel better—a gesture that meant so much. There is such an intimate atmosphere that it makes you feel like you are staying at home. Sina, Mertin’s counterpart, was equally wonderful. His humor and helpfulness added a warm and welcoming vibe to the hotel, making every interaction a delight. The location was one of the highlights as it is very central, a quick walk to the view point and town centre. We highly recommend Avilla Hotel to anyone visiting Cappadocia. It’s a gem of a place, and we’re already looking forward to returning!
