The location is perfect : two thirds down the Galata hill, a stone's throw away from the Karaköy tram stop and jetty, and just above the entrance to Tunel, you can quickly get from here to everywhere in Istanbul, be it on foot, by tram, by boat, or by metro. As for the room, it was big and spacious and the bed super comfortable. We stayed a week, no problem ! Staff were very very welcoming and super friendly, and breakfast was plentiful.

It would have been perfect if we would have been able to get some food (even just snacks) and drinks later in the day, too.

A great, comfortable and modern hotel in a very central location in Galata. We had the room with the Bosphorus and it was great. Staff were very friendly, the hotel was so peaceful even though the area itself is lively. Good breakfast, but the standout is the big pots of filter coffee which is like nectar of the gods the first thing in the morning. The hotel itself was good value especially for the time of year.

There’s nothing negative to say - everything we wanted was met and exceeded.

The location is perfect, on a quiet side street in Galata and within walking distance of Karakoy (restaurants, bars & ferries), Istikal Caddesi and the tram across the Golden Horn to the main historical sights. The breakfast was high quality, healthy and lots of vegetarian options. All of the staff were so helpful, though the breakfast staff were particularly wonderful.

Our bathroom was a little small, though the shower was still a good size.

Great location at a great price. Rooms clean and serviced daily (granted this should be given but many in Istanbul are not!). Room was spacious and AC worked great. 24/7 reception. Plenty of amenities (towels, shower products, water etc provided).

Breakfast wasn't great, though it was included in our price we only used it on the first day and opted to eat out the rest of our visit.

It’s my fourth time in Istanbul and this time with Bankerhan was the best experience: super location (5mins walk to Galata towel and 3 mins walk to tram which give easy access to see the old town). We got the room upgraded with sea views and fully equipped with AC and all necessities. The local style breakfast was simple but delicious. Hotel stuffs are also very helping. I would for sure stay here again next time!

Bankerhan is in an excellent location, just a short walk to the Galata tower and the restaurants and nightlife of Istiklal Street. It's also close to the trams and ferries that take you to Istanbul's main sights like the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia and the Asian side. It's a perfect place to explore Istanbul for first time travellers. The staff were also great, they warned us of a road closure on the day we departed and helped us organise transport to the airport. They couldn't be more welcoming and helpful... we'll definitely be booking the Bankerhan for our next visit to Istanbul!

The location is perfect, and the view from the top floor corner room is absolutely stunning. We loved the high bed at window sill level looking directly out at the waterfront view ahead. Hotel manager was very considerate and generous about late check out. I want to come back to stay again next trip here!

Everything was great. The location is very convenient for exploring the city, and the street is small and quiet, despite being in the city center. The breakfast was excellent, offering both sweet and savory options. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful.

The beds are very low; it didn’t bother me, but if you have any mobility issues, this might be uncomfortable.

Rooms were clean and spacious. Nice view on the city and Bosporus. It's located in a quiet street and had no issues with late night disturbances due to noices from within or outside the hotel. Easy walk to public transportation or the Galata district. Would stay here again!

The location of the hotel was fabulous. It was spotlessly clean & the choice of breakfast was great. The staff were excellent, especially the two guys on reception….Cagdas & the daytime guy. They were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. I highly recommend this hotel and will be coming back next year.
