I loved this place. So easy to get to and so convenient. Proximity to Istiklal st and the Galata tower being Up and Grand bazaar being Down made this hotel very convenient. When we would come down from Istiklal we would stop at the hotel and drop off our goodies we bought rest and drink tea and head toward the grand bazaar! I had the fourth floor room with balcony. I loved stepping out there everyday. The staff is very polite and very helpful. My room was very comfortable and clean. The staff always cleaned it for me. I loved my included breakfast in the mornings. Hotel prices are very good compared to some other places I have stayed at before. Whenever I come back to Istanbul I will be definitely be staying here again!

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel in the heart of Karaköy! The location is simply unbeatable: just a few steps to the Galata Bridge, surrounded by great restaurants, lovely little concept stores, and everything you need for a relaxing city trip. One of the best Balık Dürüms is also just around the corner.🐟 The breakfast was an absolute highlight 🍯🧀🍅 Every morning it was lovingly served to us at the table in the small lobby – it felt more like a cozy living room than a hotel. There was a wonderful selection of Turkish cheeses, fresh and grilled vegetables, honey, jams, Nutella, cakes, and much more. Everything was fresh and prepared with care. A huge thank you to Hatice, who pampered us every single day! The rest of the staff – Emre, Özgür, and the other young receptionist (whose name we sadly didn’t catch) – were also amazing. ❤️ The entire team was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm! 💖 You can feel that they truly love what they do. Every wish was anticipated before we even spoke it out loud. Honestly, we would’ve loved to take the whole team home with us 🥹 We woke up today and missed the breakfast already so much! Our room was spotlessly clean, stylishly furnished, and very comfortable. 🧼🛌 We also really appreciated the complimentary water, tea, and coffee available at all times. All in all: a clear recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy Istanbul and feel completely at ease at the same time!

The only (very minor) downside: there weren’t quite enough hooks for wet towels – a few more towel racks or hooks would be helpful 🚿😉 One night the water supply didn’t work, so we could not shower, but it was professionally fixed by the next morning.

We had a fantastic experience at Fama Karaköy. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome with warm smiles and helpful advice throughout our stay. We also booked the airport shuttle service through the hotel (both to and from the airport), and everything was perfectly organized and stress-free. The rooms aren’t very large, and the same goes for the bathroom, but the space is well used and features a spacious shower. One small suggestion would be to add a few more shelves or storage surfaces to make the room even more comfortable. The cleanliness was impeccable, and the breakfast was excellent—fresh, varied, and served with care. The location is another highlight: just a 10-minute walk to Galata Tower and about 30 minutes on foot to Sultanahmet. We chose to walk everywhere, but there’s also a tram that gets you to the main historical sites in just 10 minutes. The neighborhood is quiet yet lively, surrounded by shops, bars, and restaurants. It’s the perfect base for exploring Istanbul. Overall, we loved our stay at Fama Karaköy and would definitely return!

I had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel, and I must say it exceeded all of my expectations! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It’s clear that the hotel pays attention to the little details, ensuring that guests have a pleasant experience. One of the highlights of our stay was the location. The hotel is just a few minutes from public transportation, which made it so easy to explore the city and get around without any hassle. We also opted for the breakfast option, and I’m so glad we did! Every morning, we enjoyed a delicious Turkish breakfast, complete with fresh bread, cheeses, olives, and more. To top it off, the lovely lady preparing the breakfast made a homemade cake each day that was absolutely mouthwatering! Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. The combination of friendly staff, great location, and amazing breakfast made our stay truly memorable.

This hotel is an excellent choice in Istanbul. The location is very good, the rooms are a good size and very well maintained and clean. You are encouraged to enjoy tea, coffee, and homemade baked goods in the lobby at any time for no cost. However, above and beyond everything is how wonderful the staff are. As a solo traveler it was so nice to see friendly faces every day, to get lots of help, and to just be able to enjoy talking to some lovely people. I have never felt more at home in a hotel, I will be back.

We enjoyed our 5 night stay at Fama Karakoy! We were treated like family here, the staff were absolutely exceptional and it felt more like a home to us than anything else. It was also my birthday during our stay and one of the staff members Özgür (sorry if I spelt this wrong) really put a lot of effort to set up the room and gave me a birthday cake as a surprise! Furkan was there everyday to greet us at reception and really made us feel welcomed at all times, he provided us with activities to do, offered us free pastries when we would walk past reception and always made sure we were happy during our stay! The staff that cleaned our room everyday were absolutely fantastic, they did such an amazing job and always made sure everything was topped up and clean for us for when we arrived back. It has been almost week now since we stayed and we find ourselves missing Fama Karakoy, it was such a cozy little place. The location was perfect and so close to everything. Thanks so much to all the staff for making us feel so welcome. You have all made our first time in Turkey amazing and showed such great hospitality.

The only thing that we didn’t like was that our room always had a slight sewerage smell but I have found all throughout Istanbul we picked up the same smell around different place’s. The smell would go away if we kept the bathroom door closed or if we kept the window open. Wasn’t a deal breaker for us!

We booked to stay at Fama Karakoy for 4 nights. The accommodation is brilliant, all members of staff are very polite and kind. The breakfast is wonderful, we enjoyed it a lot. The lady, Hatice, was in charge of the breakfast most of the mornings, lovely lady. The hotel offers free coffee, tea, water throughout the day. They even made cake, one morning fresh doughnuts, this is enough to start your day. The hotel is within a short distance of Karakoy tram station. You can easily reach Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar,etc Also, short distance from Galataport, where you can enojy walking along the promenade and the Bosphorus views, shopping centre.. Need to mention the reception staff: Ozgur, Furkan and Alex. If you have any questions at all they can help you out or recommend places to go. Special thanks to Erkan also, from morning breakfast to making sure we have everything we need in our room. We hope to return one day and we will definitely mention the place to our friends. The staff were the absolute highlight of this stay. So very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed the complimentary cake (fresh, home-made, so tasty) and coffee offered in the lobby of the hotel. The room decor is modern. The room size was modest but as I was travelling alone it was perfectly adequate, particularly given the price - good value. The bathroom was a good size. Everything was immaculately clean. The bed was super comfortable. It really was a wonderful (short) stay but I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. A good location to explore from. Only a few minutes walk to Karakoy ferry terminal and Galata bridge, and approx 10 mins to Galata Tower. Short walk to Galataport. I wish I had been able to stay longer.

We enjoyed our time at this hotel. The hotel is small, but it has everything for a comfortable life. The hotel is located on a quiet and impassable street, which is a huge plus. And also in a very convenient location to any attraction. The only thing is that at night there is noise from some kind of working equipment, but if you close the window, it will be generally quiet. Excellent staff who are ready to help you 24/7. In particular, we thank Furkan, he is a very friendly and helpful employee who will be happy to help you at any time! We were absolutely satisfied with the breakfasts, they were almost the same every day, only the desserts changed, but at the same time it was delicious and satisfying. At any time, you can go down to the lobby and fresh rolls and drinks will be waiting for you. In short, we recommend this hotel and were satisfied with our visit!

The staff was incredible! everyone was extremely welcoming and friendly, super helpful too. The rooms are extremely clean, they were cleaned immediately after we leave on each day. The location is the best, bus stations, ferry stations, trams are all about two minutes walk away. We felt really safe and welcomed and we would stay here again.

The rooms are really really small but that's understandable given Istanbul's hotel sizes.
