The location of the hotel makes it extremely convenient to get around Istanbul. The Karaköy tram station is less than a 10-minute walk away and gives easy access to places like Eminönü, Sirkeci, and the Sultanahmet area. Galata Tower is just a 6-minute walk, and we were also close to Istiklal Street, which made the area lively and full of things to do. The breakfast team was incredibly warm, kind, and attentive, which made our mornings even more enjoyable.

There is not much variety for breakfast as it is not buffet style, but rather they provide the same menu each day and you choose what you want, so in that sense, breakfast is a bit limited.

The hotel is ideally located – you can explore Istanbul on foot right from the doorstep. Despite being in the city center, our room was absolutely quiet, even at night, and we felt very comfortable throughout our stay. Everything was clean, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The rooftop terrace offers a great view, and we enjoyed having breakfast up there.

Although breakfast was served à la carte, some items – like an overly full bread basket – were automatically brought to the table. Unfortunately, we couldn’t eat most of it, and it ended up going to waste. We would really appreciate it if the hotel reconsidered this approach in the interest of reducing food waste. The hotel doesn’t offer any additional facilities, but this is quite common due to the limited space in Istanbul. However, if the hotel considers renovations in the future, converting one room into a small fitness area could be a great addition.

Lovely hotel close to Galata Tower. Very lively attractive area. Comfortable beds, good soundproofing in the room. Adequate aircon that we hardly noticed but still kept room at a pleasant temperature. Rooftop breakfast was really nice and good value with lovely service. We booked it separately for two of our three nights. Served until 12.30! Great and helpful check in staff. We had a very enjoyable stay here. Thank you!

There was nothing we didn't like. Some people have commented on the breakfast room being in a different building but we didn't find it to be a problem. It's a hilly part of the city.

Great location a short walk from tourist sites and Galata Tower. Many restaurants, shops, bodegas in the neighborhood. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was amazing with panoramic views of the Bosphorous and good variety of made-to-order items. Staff were so friendly and helped with luggage storage and were able to accommodate my early check-in. Room was a good size (considering that this is a historic European-style building) and had nice touches like a Nespresso machine, fancy toiletries, and tall ceilings. Loved my stay!

For those with mobility issues, please note that breakfast is served in a different building that requires a short walk up a steep cobblestone road. It is only 1-2 minutes but might be difficult for elderly travelers.

Sound isolation

The location is fantastic near Galata tower and a short walk to Karakoy tram station for easy access to Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque etc. This hotel has two separate buildings that are close together but the 'House' building is the one with the rooftop restaurant and bar; and also this is where you have your breakfast. The views across Istanbul from the rooftop are stunning. A special mention should be given to the staff (reception and restaurant) as they were so helpful and friendly. I would.highly recommend staying here if you coming to Istanbul for a holiday.

Really clean and well maintained. Good view out the window and no noise from the busy street nearby. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Good interior design.

The facilities are limited. The room was small, I was supposed to get upgraded one but got just the regular for no reason. The fact that the hotel consists of two buildings is was not obvious to me at the time of booking. One is nicer, seen in the pictures. Other is fine as well of course but lithe is nicer. This is surely no problem if you get your room in the nicer one but you never know...

The hotel is centrally located, making it perfect for exploring Istanbul. The breakfast was amazing with plenty of delicious options. The staff, especially Cidgem, Ozan, Barış, and Gazal, were incredibly helpful and friendly. The hotel has two buildings, the bank building and house building. The house building had a charming character and was very clean. Additionally, this location is fantastic for dinning out - Gio's Pizza nearby is an absolute must-try.

The house building requires a bit of a walk up, which might not be ideal for those with mobility issues. The heaters in the room were centrally controlled, so the only option to cool down the room was to off the heater or open a window. I think the bank building room does not have this issue.

Location is perfect! You can easily walk across to Galataport which has a lot of great restaurants and places of interest or go across the bridge to see the old side of the city. The staff were also really amazing.They were friendly and accommodated every single request we had.Breakfast was delicious and you get a great view from their rooftop restaurant. Check-in and check-out was easy and overall, we would be happy to stay here again!

You will have to walk a bit uphill to go to the rooftop restaurant which is located in the other building, which is not a big deal but might be a challenge for guests with medical conditions.

It was our first time to Istanbul and turkey in general and we are glad we got to spend it at DeCamondo! The location is a 12/10 - it is literally perfect to explore the city (tram, ferry, walkable distances in all directions). We received an upgrade on arrival and a superb welcome snack plate! The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. Shower and supplements top! They even put free water bottles in the bathroom everyday so you can use that for brushing your theeth - so thoughtful! All staff were always open to answer questions and help. We were able to change rooms when we asked for a quieter one (I recommend a room to the front). We think the photos and descriptions don’t do justice! Their roof top terrace has the BEST view we found around - and to start every morning with THIS view and a huge (good!!!) breakfast - honestly I don’t see how it can get better! A heartfelt and personal thank you to our friends from the restaurant - especially Gozal and Cigdem who made us feel at home every morning and practiced our Turkish skills with us! And thank you for excellent bar service to Inan! Hotel live from the people who run it - this hotel is very lucky. I hope it stays a secret tip and a gem as it is.

The staff always asked if everything was okay, took feedback serious and offered to help. They went above and beyond to fulfill wishes or meet requests! Just one idea: invest in new toilet brushes ;)
