Really clean and well maintained. Good view out the window and no noise from the busy street nearby. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Good interior design.

The facilities are limited. The room was small, I was supposed to get upgraded one but got just the regular for no reason. The fact that the hotel consists of two buildings is was not obvious to me at the time of booking. One is nicer, seen in the pictures. Other is fine as well of course but lithe is nicer. This is surely no problem if you get your room in the nicer one but you never know...

The hotel is centrally located, making it perfect for exploring Istanbul. The breakfast was amazing with plenty of delicious options. The staff, especially Cidgem, Ozan, Barış, and Gazal, were incredibly helpful and friendly. The hotel has two buildings, the bank building and house building. The house building had a charming character and was very clean. Additionally, this location is fantastic for dinning out - Gio's Pizza nearby is an absolute must-try.

The house building requires a bit of a walk up, which might not be ideal for those with mobility issues. The heaters in the room were centrally controlled, so the only option to cool down the room was to off the heater or open a window. I think the bank building room does not have this issue.

Location is perfect! You can easily walk across to Galataport which has a lot of great restaurants and places of interest or go across the bridge to see the old side of the city. The staff were also really amazing.They were friendly and accommodated every single request we had.Breakfast was delicious and you get a great view from their rooftop restaurant. Check-in and check-out was easy and overall, we would be happy to stay here again!

You will have to walk a bit uphill to go to the rooftop restaurant which is located in the other building, which is not a big deal but might be a challenge for guests with medical conditions.

It was our first time to Istanbul and turkey in general and we are glad we got to spend it at DeCamondo! The location is a 12/10 - it is literally perfect to explore the city (tram, ferry, walkable distances in all directions). We received an upgrade on arrival and a superb welcome snack plate! The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. Shower and supplements top! They even put free water bottles in the bathroom everyday so you can use that for brushing your theeth - so thoughtful! All staff were always open to answer questions and help. We were able to change rooms when we asked for a quieter one (I recommend a room to the front). We think the photos and descriptions don’t do justice! Their roof top terrace has the BEST view we found around - and to start every morning with THIS view and a huge (good!!!) breakfast - honestly I don’t see how it can get better! A heartfelt and personal thank you to our friends from the restaurant - especially Gozal and Cigdem who made us feel at home every morning and practiced our Turkish skills with us! And thank you for excellent bar service to Inan! Hotel live from the people who run it - this hotel is very lucky. I hope it stays a secret tip and a gem as it is.

The staff always asked if everything was okay, took feedback serious and offered to help. They went above and beyond to fulfill wishes or meet requests! Just one idea: invest in new toilet brushes ;)

Staff were very nice and helpful, tried to get us an upgrade but nothing on offer. Location is good although if was was to recommend to someone else I might suggest they stay in the old town area. Be aware of the hills and steps! Two parts to the hotel they are very separate. We stayed in house building which was lovely but just viewed side street and hoarding. Amazing little wine house and nice music.

Room was kind of industrial modern. Nice enough but almost no storage, no cupboards or shelves so made unpacking and keeping f clothes very difficult. Also poor noise insulation, must have had children above so woken early most mornings.

breakfast really good, had to go to a separate building for breakfast which is not an issue. clean, more boutique feel, if the price is right, yo9u won't regret going here

instructions were vague at best as to breakfast location, had a staff member take us in the direction but left us without instruction in the rain to find our own way - no signage, we worked it out

The hotel is recent; everything is in good condition. The staff is very friendly. The location is superb, with easy access to many interesting areas of Istanbul. Breakfast is served in the restaurants of both hotel buildings. You can choose in which restaurant you are enjoying your breakfast (7 am - 11 am).

The check-in process could be managed more efficiently; it takes a lot of time. We paid for breakfast for all three nights. Unfortunately, the last morning, we had to leave at 6:45 am to catch our plane back home. We were promised a breakfast box for take away purposes, but when we arrived at the reception, they let us know that they could not help us with this box after all. We were then promised a compensation for this inconvenience, but I did not hear back from the hotel since.

During our second stay at Hotel DeCamondo Galata, spanning an extensive ten days, we were once again thoroughly impressed and deeply satisfied with every aspect of our experience. This hotel has consistently demonstrated why it remains our preferred choice when visiting the area. It’s clear that the hotel maintains high standards for hygiene and guest comfort, making each stay as welcoming as the last. The staff at Hotel DeCamondo Galata deserves special recognition for their exceptional service. Every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met, exhibiting professionalism, warmth, and a genuine desire to assist. Their helpfulness and pleasant demeanor greatly enhanced our overall experience. A highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the breakfast service. The variety and quality of options available each morning were remarkable, catering to all tastes and dietary requirements. The breakfast staff, particularly Çigdem, Çagla, and Onur, deserve individual praise for their outstanding service. Their kindness, efficiency, and attention to detail did not go unnoticed and played a significant role in starting our days on a positive note. Their efforts made our dining experience not just a meal, but a delightful part of our day we looked forward to. We are deeply thankful to the entire team at Hotel DeCamondo Galata for making our second stay as memorable and enjoyable as the first. It’s clear that the hotel excels not only in the amenities it provides but also in the quality of its staff and service. We eagerly anticipate our next visit and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay in the area.

First of all the staff was very kind to us and eager to help. The hotel is situated in a very touristic area, and very close to public transportation, to Galata Tower and to Istiklal street which lead to Taksim square. The hotel was stylish and pleasant and there was also a nice scent at the corridors. The rooms also were clean,stylish and soundproofed, the cleaning lady came by every day, and she provided us with fresh towels and water. The mattress and the pillows were very comfortable . They also provided us slippers and bathrobes and all of the other small amenities. If you are lucky and get a room at the 5th floor you will see also the blue mosque from your window. The breakfast was nice and I advice you to take it at the terrace of the other building of the hotel were the view is just delightful. Last but not least they gave us a parking space for free for our car but keep in mind the places are limited.

It would be nice to have consistency in the menu breakfast and serve the same plate for each meal from the menu everyday, also the rooms were a bit small.
