Excellent location. 5 min walking to the railway station. Can be nosy if the room is on the street

A Good Hotel with Great Location. This is my second stay at this hotel. Earlier I stayed in this hotel in 2014. At that time I was not aware that the hotel was located at such a great location but now I made an well informed choice to stay in this hotel. For those travelers who are coming for the first time in Venice, I want to explain that Venice is a place where you do not have Road Taxies driving inside the city and this actually is the beauty of this city. We only have water taxies in the city to be transported to your hotel when you reach Venice either by train or by Air. All trains and road Taxies caring tourists stop at/near the main entrance place of the city called "Piazzale Roma . From here you either walk to your hotel a bit uphill or take a water taxi if it is far off. But why not to have a hotel right at this place, free yourself by dropping your luggage at hotel and proceed to the most romantic tour to the city. Hotel Principe has the best advantage of location, you can just walk to your hotel from your Road Taxi from Airport or Train Station. If you have big luggage porters are available to take your luggage on a trolly to your hotel. Moreover this hotel is located right on the bank of the Grand Canal Venice to offer best views of the city waterways. Reception staff at the hotel was very cooperative. I was at the hotel for only one night and had a very early morning flight next day. Since I would have to miss the great buffet breakfast next morning to catch my flight, the hotel management was kind enough to upgrade my room to a Canal View Room for free. Views from this room spacious balcony very amazing. By chance, next morning my flight got delayed and the hotel allowed me to have their sumptuous buffet breakfast as well. Hotel serve breakfast indoor as well as on the Canal Bank terrace. Rooms are spacious and clean, beds very comfy. The Venice main shopping street starts right from this hotel.

Location was great. Close to train station and water transportation . Room was big and looked nice. Great water pressure in the shower.

First of all our room was infested with ants. They got into our medication, vitamins, water, clothes. Even inside the fridge. After complaining to the desk, while we were out, they sprayed our room with some very strong ant killing stuff and left the windows opened to vent. That not only left the room with an awful smell, it did nothing to eliminate the ants. We only spent 2 night there so we didn’t have the time to waste to fight for a new room, neither should we have to, it should have been offered by the hotel staff. They front desk were very nonchalant about the hole thing, blaming guests for bringing food into the rooms. Just not very good customer service and care. Breakfast was not good either. Juice was watered down, scrambled eggs were watery and nasty.

Hotel location was ideal for us to find after travelling to Venice, we loved the fact that the hotel was next to the Grand Canal. We were given a street map by hotel staff which helped us to get around and see all of the cities highlights. We hope to visit again soon.

We were a little surprised that there were no tea and coffee making facilities in our room, when we enquired if hot water was available to make tea we were directed to a hot water dispenser on another floor, which meant we had to transport very hot water in cups in the lift to get it back to our room. We never found the Venice Christmas markets, which is why we booked the trip originally.

A lovely hotel with exceptionally clean rooms and good breakfast all at value for money, close to public transport and some lovely restaurants- a oasis after a long day of culture!

We couldn't believe that we managed to find availability at this amazing hotel just two days before our visit to Venice. Knowing that Venice is a walking city, I wanted a hotel that was close to the train station so we could drop off our luggage and tour the city at a relaxing pace. And boy did this hotel check all the boxes. First its not the typical crammed up hotel one might expect to find in a compact city like Venice. Its a chic place with very ornate decor and spacious lobby. The back of the hotel faces the water front and one can relax sitting at the tables on the patio and enjoying the views. The rooms were good and comfortable. The breakfast room was ballroom size and they did have full continental breakfast, with amazing selection! The hotel is minutes from the train station and on a street that is very lively with lot of eating options. We saw so many tourists struggling with suitcases, trying to get them up the bridges and dragging them through narrow streets. Avoid it if you can by booking a hotel like this one close to the train station or one that is close to the water front served by water bus. I would have expected to pay 3x of what I paid to stay at this place. If you get a chance to stay here, don't hesitate, just book and enjoy Venice!

Nothing at all, our stay was amazing!

It was just perfect for me, a solo traveler. Just a few steps from the train station, so I could manage my luggage easily. My room had a terrace overlooking the Grand Canal with a gorgeous view. Every convenience I needed in the lovely pristine clean room. Breakfast was fantastic! The staff is friendly & totally helpful. I was able to easily walk anywhere from my hotel. Very close to a main bridge to access all of Venezia. The photos I included show views from my terrace.

The location is great! Just imagine: you don't have to carry your luggage across one hundred bridges searching the right alley, you don't have to wait for a taxi. The hotel is two steps away from the railway station. Bu the way you can leave your luggage before check-in and after check-out. I liked the views from the windows! And I also liked the staff. They are not just formally polite people, they are truly caring professionals. Enjoy your stay! :)
